Whenever a person gives you more details than necessary over a vague question, that can be a red flag. Any details that don't fit the natural flow of conversation show where a person's mind wanders when discussing that topic. When you asked about the girl, he could of just said "Oh yeah, I know her from blah blah blah. She's great. Where do you know her from?" Instead, he planned ahead for emotional and relationship-related conversations by adding that she was going through a difficult breakup. So his thoughts were, "I have relationship-related discussions with this girl, but she can't know what they're really about." There's also body language and other tells that can go along with it to indicate it's not just normal conversation, and you kind of need to use your gut. Extra details don't always mean a lie, but are definitely something to look out for, especially if they're completely random.

The age of consent in my state is 16. When I was in my young 20s, I used to joke (trust it was only a joke) about trolling the high schools for guys. Then my oldest cousin’s son who was 15, stay with us for a summer. I quit making those kinds of “jokes” real quick. 🥴

This story immediately made me angry-why would the coach tell YOU and your friend (sophomores, and underage) to "watch out" for Jeff's (a senior who is most likely of age) behavior instead of putting that onus on JEFF?! That reminds me of college freshman seminars that try to teach the young women "not to get raped" instead of teaching the young men "NOT TO RAPE"!!! I'm really sorry this happened to you and that coach is shitty. Jeff's behavior that the coach warned you about is ILLEGAL. It's fine to warn girls and women that certain things and people are unsafe, but the responsibility lays at the feet of boys and men not to abuse or rape.
I'm really glad that this situation didn't progress further than it did. I had a very similar situation-I was a sophomore and this guy was a senior. For once, having an extremely strict Mom paid off. I wasn't allowed to date him out go to his prom. At the time, I thought it was so unfair. Turned out that the girl he did take to prom, who was also a sophomore, was raped by this senior on prom night and to add even more trauma, she got pregnant. And...the whole school blamed the girl. I'm older than you, and now understand and can clearly see how f+#ked up situations like this are. They're not just messed up, but they're illegal.

As an athletic trainer I am disgusted that a college AT student would do this! My college had strict rules about crap like that bc it happens and I find that soooo disgusting. Also, this was a shock! I'm genuinely surprised by the turn this took.

its a good idea to use fake names but if u get even bigger then u are now here on youtube..u might want to also leave out identifying information such as if someone was your schools senior captain or whatever,... if someone realllly wanted to figure it out they could easily look up where u went to school, find out what year u were related to this senior captain and find out who it is. i know it seems lke a verrry far stretch ..but i know bigger youtubers where people will take a picture in their house or something and they know by like a chair or wallpaper or something and people will find out in two seconds who and where the pic was taken
