hey hannah! welcome to the knitting podcast community ✨😊 I finally managed to finish watching your video and I’m putting on the second one right after! I’m excited to see how your unspun cardigan will turn out - I also have that one on my planned knits list and hope to also buy the manchelopis when I’m in berlin in april ☺️
Thank you Marlene, and thanks for watching! I'm currently working on the cardigan and so far the yarn has only accidentally broken once, so I feel it's more sturdy than I first thought (: Can't wait to see which color you choose!
@@pagesandpurlsThat's good to know, thanks for reporting on how it's going so far :) Oh you already know I'll pick a really exciting grey/brown tone haha
Congratulations on a wonderful first podcast and beautiful first sweater…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🧶💗. I found your podcast on my RUclips suggestions and enjoyed sitting and knitting while listening 😄. I’m from Maryland, just north of DC. I knit my first sweater in 2019 and now I always have a sweater on my needles! Best wishes with your PhD…and I look forward to your next podcast
Enjoyed and looking forward to your knitting podcast. I haven’t attempted sock knitting but it is on my future knits. I’m a 73 year grandmother from Pennsylvania USA 🤗
Thank you so much for watching, and welcome to this tiny corner of the internet. I just bound off my first sock yesterday and it ended up being more fun + easier than I expected. I hope you'll enjoy making socks, too, once you try it out!
Welcome , I’m proud of you in continuing your education! Love your sweater and vest, such nice colors for you. Could you show us the lovely quilt behind you on your chair. 😊💖
Thank you! I bought the quilt in a Dutch department store a few years ago (didn't make it myself, sadly), but I can show it a little better in the next video.
Ah, I just found your most recent episode but wanted to know where you’re from. I’m a US expat living in Berlin since 2016 so it’s funny we switched.) I’m also writing a novel, so I’m excited to see you talk about writing & knitting! Have a lovely day! really enjoyed your podcast and excited to see more.
Lovely to meet you and congratulations on your first sweater. It is lovely and the colour very much suits you. Re your vest gauge. The only rule is that the gauge will result in a garment that fits as you want. Other than that whether the fabric is light, dense or whatever the only important thing is if you like it. So if gauge is giving you the correct size and you like the fabric…..then what you have knitted so far is perfect and go for it. I’m looking forward to seeing your adventures in knitting xox
Thank you for your kind words and for stopping by my video! And that's good advice regarding the gauge, I hadn't thought about it that way. Thanks so much (:
Thank you ☺️☺️ I've cast on the first sock a few days ago and so far it's very addictive, but I haven't made it to the heel yet... so let's see. Thanks for watching!
Well done on your first video + your first sweater Hannah! You have done good + your Taylor Swift vest is looking beautiful + the open knit looks lovely. You were very eloquent + your speech flowed. Looking forward to your next video!
Your sweater is fantastic! The memories attached to it are great. Your vest is in light airy colors I think it being knit as you are is a good choice. You will be wearing a shirt underneith so the undershirt will make the vest fabric look more solid than it is.
Thank you for your kind words, and your thoughts on the vest. And I agree with you, wearing something underneath will probably give it a more solid look
Great first episode and congrats on the first sweater! I'm also in the final stages of my PhD in neuroscience (and a knitter obviously haha), hoping to finish in May!
Oh another fellow knitter + neuroscientist! Good luck and lots of patience + persistence for your last months of PhD, hope knitting can help us stay calm with all that stress (:
Chelsea from Truelaneknits recommended you and I came right over! Engish teacher knitter - so will be a fan! My mother is from Germany (born in the East but moved to Bavaria - near Ingolstadt - during the war). I lived there for 7 years during my 20s, so Germany and your accent are very near and dear to my heart. I lived in Frankfurt and Offenbach when I was there, and traveled south to my relatives often. Good luck with your socks! My mother taught me to knit when I was quite young, but I did not become obsessed until recently (thanks to all the time in quarantine). I tried a sock a few years ago but was intimidated with the small needles and stitches. I discovered Magic Loop this winter and absolutely fell in love. Guess what I made for everyone for Xmas this year? Even my very first pair was good enough to be a gift, but with every new sock, I'm getting better and more adventurous. I have joined 2 monthly sock groups - Stephen West's Year of the Sock and Annie's Knitting Club. And - I'm almost finished with my first garment ever - the LePouf Cardigan! Love this community so much. Good luck - and looking forward to your next video (and wriring vlogs ;-) )
Oh thank you so much for coming over after Chelsea's recommendation, and so interesting to hear about your background (: So you speak German then? Have you been back recently? I'm happy sock knitting has worked out for you after discovering magic loop. I find DPNs quite fiddly, I think those really scared me off. But tried working on very small circumference needles, and those worked super well for me. Excited to be casting on more socks after I finish my first pair!
Welcome! Great job on your podcast.
Look forward to your knitting projects and book recommendations🧶💕😊
Thank you so much for stopping by and your lovely words :)

Love your video. I loved the colors on basket on the side and would love to know where you got it?
Thank you! I got the basket on a market when traveling in Vietnam. Sorry I can't provide you with a useful link or so :/
