Great video gentlemen. Enjoyed the knowledgeable opinions. The M-14, G3, and the Galil are 3 of my favorites. But my SHTF rifle is an AR-10 style PSA in 7.62 NATO with 30-round mags.
Since Jason likes rhymes, I have one for him: "If ya can't load the clip, ya can't take the trip!" Time to get christened by the M1 Garand, brudda! You got this.
There exists a timeline where NATO as a unit adopted the FAL in .280, I will forever be saddened that we do not live in it. There exists a timeline where the US followed through in it's word and adopted the FAL, I will forever be angered we do not live in that timeline. In this timline I have a modernized G3, and that makes me happy.
I don't know if you guys get this often but could you implement your chapter function on RUclips more? I love watching your channel and seeing what yall are doing but sometimes I wanna jump around or wanna see one specific part of a vid. so if you guys CAN implement it more that would be awesome but if not no worries, still love yall
If WW3 started today...the M77 would be my first pick off the table followed by the BM-59! Great video guys... even though you hated on the wood and steel 🤣!
Interesting video you all put together. I would be hard pressed to pick a winner out of that group. I must say that I am really disappointed that I didn't buy up a bunch of metric and inch pattern FAL kits of various kinds and receivers when they were readily available and cheap.
I would love to see a POF USA Revolution (hmmm.... DI or OG Piston?) in a broad brief comparison such as this with it's relatively lighter weight and compressed design (AR-10 in a 15's footprint)...
My choice hands down is the H&K MR762-A1 - It's got one of the best BCG's in its class w/ a linear center of gravity with or without a full mag. And when the gun is in battery it sends steel down range with the best of them for a . 308 heavy
I love the mcx and I’m hoping to get a hold of the spear and hope it’s even half as good as the mcx has been for me. It be my number one pick of all of these
SCAR-17 but you have to update it with all new aftermarket parts like rails, lower to take p-Mags, better muzzle device, etc. Update it to address your complaints.
As far as I know, they haven’t seen battle, but are battle styled rifles, however, I really like my Smith&Wesson M&P 10. Ambidextrous controls, light weight, accurate, uses AR10 mags, eats whatever I feed it, and is (at least was when I got mine) reasonably priced.
Mars h ftw imo. Pretty versatile gun. And the barrels are available if u know where to look. I have one I’m building so I’m biased lol. But go from di to piston, 6.5 to 308, whatever barrel length you want. Sig has these capabilities, except the di part. Lmt is full ambi, reliable, battle proven, and overbuilt. Only knock is no adjustable gas. Good video though fellas.
There are a rail section you can put on the Garand so you could put that Eotech on it . I put one on my M1 Carbine but can’t bring myself to do it to any of my Garand’s . I plan on getting an M1A Socom and will probably put the HOPCO or Badace mount where you replace the rear sight .
I haven't shot the Sig Spear, but do have the HK MR762 and while I don't mind the mag release not being ambi, I definitely wouldn't mind having an ambi bolt catch/release.
One question, FAL, Garand or G3? What are you choosing or what's your fav among these? I am going for the FAL. It's the one with the most modern features though they all belong to about the same age and considered classic historical rifles. FAL unlike the rest got a proper magazine, mag release, last round bolt lock and bilt release button, great charging handle, great selector position. Gas port adjustment option, grenade launching option. Butt folding option and the list goes on. G3 is great too, but that roller delayed option cant launch grenades and no last round bolt lock. Garand is a lot more of a grandfather system. Great gun but very limited options and limited capacity.
6 arc Proof carbon barrel, Gibbz upper, Diamond AR trigger, Timber Creek carbon handguard, Wilson Combat carbon buttstock, silent buffer with a ajustable Sharps bcg topped with Continual 3-18x50 scope. And a cherry bomb muzzle brake with a custom can on the end. 6 pound gun with a lot abilities If you use a clip on thermal.
I actually agree with Jason about the FAL. Had it for a while and never got completely comfortable using it. Something always felt a little off when manipulating the rifle. It was fun to shoot, just a little off.
Totally agree with what the guy said all the way on the right about the sr25 no reason it should be 4k+ for that even 3 and 4k is pretty steep for most gun owners.
Love you guys. Love this video and the full size handgun comparo Love this team of four horsemen. Let’s do more modern day rifle comparisons. Lmt, DD, sfar, pof, sw mp10, lwrc.
I’m in the market for a new Battle Rifle, so this video was awesome for me. Love this format, and revenue is higher since it’s a longer video. MORE like this please! 👍
I use to own a m1 Garand. After glass bedding and doing all possible gunsmithing including shooting match grade ammo I could only get it to 1.5 moa. With a modern M1a loaded, glass bedded, national match guide rod, and gas piston I was able to achieve a .70 moa scoped of course. With little more gun light gun smithing I am able to achieve greater accuracy and have a garand style action.
I don't know your opinion of Barnal ammo, but I absolutely love it. Barnal loads their ammo hotter than other manufacturers, and I appreciate that. I have never had a ftf, ftl, or fte with Barnal, and every gun I have used this ammo in ran flawlessly.
I have loved the G3 ever since I got a chance to shoot one when on a field exercise with the Germans, back in the 80's. I have put a red dot on my PT91 for two-gun competitions, and it still serves me better than I serve it. But the gun I want you to optimize with a LVPO and a can is the SIG Spear. Then let me win it. :)
I'm a fan of the older style rifles. The Garand and M14 are my favorites. The AR10 would be up there for familiarity since I own an AR15. The M14 and Garand were my dad's favorites. He used the M14 at times in Vietnam. He loved it's accuracy.
If you want to put a red dot, or a long eye relief scop on a M1 Garand use this. (UltiMAK M1 Garand Forward Optic Mount). I personally would not, but if you want to.
As a rifle you can depend on and fight with, the G-3 gets a 9. But the ergos and especially the trigger take it down to a 7.5. That concept in a modern housing with a good trigger would be a 10!
You guys can't give Jason any grief for picking the Tavor 7 out of bias lol. Everyone said they gave it a 7 or a 6 because they don't like or have practice with bullpups, which is bias lol.
I think you should have had an LMT reference rifle L129A1 or similar given the price point you went to. Only because I’m curious and it’s made of unobtanium.
Have used the g3 as a service rifle (swedish army); that thing is heavy to log around. Great precision, but heavy as f**k! The latest in the army, designated Ak4D, is a great dmr.
It’s interesting to see the change in battle rifles. But it would make more sense to do time period comparisons. The grand against modern rifles is going to be low (4.5). Compare it to Mauser style firmes that everyone else was using, and it’s an 11.
Seeing them all fire in succession was a cool perspective. The Spear looked nice and steady for the power it delivers, but the M-14 looked superb for its age.
I'd love to see the Tavor 7 kitted out as much like a Morita rifle from Starship Troopers as you can legally or functionally practical-ish. Also, the introductory video must have an I'm-doing-my-part routine as well as a would-you-like-to-know-more screen in whatever kind of rendition Classic Firearms can or will deliver. That or you can aquire a bullpup chassis for an m14/M1A and get a little closer of a rendition to it because that's how the morita was made. The underslung shotgun could be of the pump-action or semi-auto variety or even a dual-system action like the benelli M3 or SPAS-12. If a masterkey is too illegal, then maybe a shockwave style with the bird's head grip and either have one with an 18" barrel to avoid the SBS tax (for here in Missouri, that is) or just have whichever shockwave you put on there like the a panzer arms or Garaysar brand model that can suit the role. It would also be nice if the Tavor 7 could have a 20" barrel instead of the 16.5" one I typically see on your site, but if it isn't available, I'll settle for the longest you have for the giveaway. I'm also glad the Tavor 7 actually got featured in a video, and it got some love. It's one I had my eye on for a while because it was a cheaper and seemingly better alternative to the MDRX in 308
A M1 garand with a GI sling and clips all the way down the sling with a ww2 stock pouch with more clips. Would absolutely do it for me. Like maybe 10 clips total included in this? Idk I think that would be a super rad giveaway
You mention the warranty on the SCAR being voided if you suppress it, but it goes further than that. The SCAR 17S, while capable of firing .308, is not chambered for .308. I'll explain what I mean. The barrel of the SCAR is stamped 7.62x51, however the upper-receiver is stamped "Multi Caliber". This, however, does not mean that the SCAR can fire both 7.62x51 and .308. What this actually means is that the upper receiver is capable of taking the SCAR 20S 6.5 Creedmoore barrel assembly as well as it's 7.62x51 barrel. The barrel itself is ONLY meant to have 7.62x51 fired through it. So if there's some sort of malfunction and damage to the weapon is caused by the ammunition, and the ammunition used was .308, you've just voided your warranty. I reached out to FN America support and confirmed all of this with them. Use .308 at your own risk.
I definitely think the PTR 91 with a solid lpvo and a sling or the Galil Ace similar setup with a angled fore grip Only cause they are 2 I definitely want to add to my collection
Great video gentlemen. Enjoyed the knowledgeable opinions. The M-14, G3, and the Galil are 3 of my favorites. But my SHTF rifle is an AR-10 style PSA in 7.62 NATO with 30-round mags.

Each one brings its own unique blend of power, accuracy, and reliability to the table, making it tough to pick a clear winner.
Unique blend of power? They were all in .308 except the one in .30-06 lmao
@LL-my5rl blend of power, accuracy, and reliability. I guess power is still mostly the same, with slight variations
I realize how much time and work (and ammo 😊) went into this video and just want to say thank you to the CF crew. Good content
Tactical Young Geezy and E-40 dropping pause after every suspect comment is gold! You love to see it.

M-14 is better
@@TexasNationalist1836: 😂🤡
@@Doublezzranch i really enjoyed when you provided evidence as to how the FAL is better than the M14
Functionality in mud. Modern controls. Adjustable gas system. Fal wins.
Oof, multiverse theory.. there's a timeline where I'm master chief from Halo too..

Great video, four different options with different backgrounds, for myself Sig Sauer MCX Spear 16”

This channel was at its peak with Alec.

I would love to see a POF USA Revolution (hmmm.... DI or OG Piston?) in a broad brief comparison such as this with it's relatively lighter weight and compressed design (AR-10 in a 15's footprint)...
Awesome video with great subject matter.
Would expect LWRC mk2 REPR making to the party as well.
They NEVER put LWRC in these challenges. IDK why not?

The REPR should have absolutely been in this. It's arguably the best out of all of these, but im biased towards mine.

I've heard some pretty good things.
My choice hands down is the H&K MR762-A1 - It's got one of the best BCG's in its class w/ a linear center of gravity with or without a full mag. And when the gun is in battery it sends steel down range with the best of them for a . 308 heavy

Would kind of like to see some POF reviews.....got a .308 before they went with the lighter version....really like it.
Has the issue with the over insertion on the Spear been solved?
You guys are doing great things with this channel. Still wish you guys would change the little background jingle once in a while lol
They've had it for years but I still love it
I love the mcx and I’m hoping to get a hold of the spear and hope it’s even half as good as the mcx has been for me. It be my number one pick of all of these
Being unfamiliar with a bullpup isnt the fault of the gun, its the failure of the man using it for not learning how to use it.
I’d go with the galil ace with an eotech and magnifier, fore grip and different muzzle device. Simple and effective.
SCAR-17 but you have to update it with all new aftermarket parts like rails, lower to take p-Mags, better muzzle device, etc. Update it to address your complaints.
I loved my Springfield 1903-A3 bolt action. Was very accurate and the bolt action was very quick getting next shots on target.
What muzzle device do y'all recommend for the galil ?
loved the comparison with 4 different shooters. tkx guys
Do this again with the top 5.56 rifles. That Spear is top with the 417.But put that M14 in an ebr chassis and I'm in.

APC308 with the night force attacker
Cool work! Would have liked to see SIG SG 510 in 7.5 Swiss in comparison to its contemporaries.
The B&T price tag and it won’t shoot steel case that’s a shame.

Just observing, I thought that HK ran really smooth. Great video.
YES, as to the mention of LMT Battle Rifle at the end, but what of the LWRCI REPR (MKII) ?!
Meh
The LMT has a quick barrel swap system you can make it the same barrel length as the repr
You should try the xcr. And maybe an ar-10 that isn’t the sr-25.
What is the name of the magazine that can hold 308 30 rounds bullet?
