I don't patronize any of them Walmart Meijer and Total Wine have them at retail why patronize a small store that's trying to rip you off just for some misplaced moral on buying from a small retailer the others just want to do business
Whistle Pig Summer Stock is worth a try. When it came out you were able to get it with a pair of Pit Viper sunglasses that’s why It says Pit viper on the bottle.
@@BourbonDrop yeah it was msrp I’ll be up there tomorrow around noon before I go out of town for thanksgiving, I’ll leave a 2 ounce sample there for you to pickup for next time you stop by if you want 🥃
No flack from me on Uncle Nearest. Tried the pink labeled one and it was just so-so. My coworker says "Uncle Nearest" sounds like someone who isn't allowed to live within 500' of a school.🤣
ive seen that cellar aged MM here in Washington in 2 different stores for 499. one was plus 20.5% tax, the other was out the door - and they were willing to knock 100 off for cash. i passed on both!
Starlight hasn't put out a product I like to this day. The Blueberry finished was drinkable, but not mind-blowing! Even though I'm not a fan of Woodford DO, I recently found a pick that I like a lot! 🥃
First store had a great selection, but yikes to the pricing. Love the Heaven Hill 7 Year BIB. It was on sale for $39.99 a month ago by me. The stores now have it for $42.99. Great video Myron. 🥃
There are museums like that all over Maryland. If you're willing to spend stupid money on a a bottle, you can get pretty much anything, but there's a reason we call them museums.
I noticed that when I was editing. I started to do a quick freeze frame. I knew someone would catch it. I actually mentioned that when I did the premier at 12:00. 🥃
Yes, they are. Thankfully, I work in VA, so they aren't hard to come by at MSRP. I can also find them at a few stores by me for close to or right at MSRP.
I too would love to purchase the Makers Cellar Age, but I’ve got my limits on what I will pay. When you go into a store, typically what’s your max your willing to pay for most bottles?
I own a liquor store in Texas, Cellar aged 50% markup 170$. I’m on both sides of the game, playing games with the distributors is not fun and making it up on allocated bottles is a way to make up for buying junk cases for a few bottles. Don’t pay those silly high prices but if you insist on it please come to my store !!
Sometimes I have the hardest time buying stuff I see all the time on the shelves, such as the HH BIB. Need to break that trend, especially since it’s always $49-53 here in GA.
I feel you on some of the everyday stuff. I know it'll always be there so I look for something new. No since in buying backups when they're always available.I just wait until I'm out of it. 🥃
MM Cellar Aged for $490 is not worthy. I personally wouldn't pay half that price. These new whiskeys or allocated bottles just aren't worth the mark up price IMO. Yes, it would be nice to own Some of them at retail price, but there are to many other options out there. Great review.
If you got it for $200 you'd be lucky. I paid $320 cash after negotiation because it was my unicorn and local store. Unfortunately I'm part of the problem but these stores get limited allocation so they try and get what they can. I just won't pay top dollar. Above retail but below secondary is where I look for sought after bottles.
So much to say… I know a store has the right to sell bottles at whatever they want in an non-state controlled state. But, I consider those stores who markup their prices significantly the same as a bottle flipper. Neither one cares about anything but their pocket getting lined. These store are part of the problem and need to change or lose the privilege of getting those allocated bottles. Reps need to do a better job of helping protect us buyers who truly enjoy what’s in the bottles and not what’s on the labels. I get irritated with this crap… end of rant… 😂 I started giggling when you grabbed that Sagamore Herbal Liqueur… I was waiting for this to happen. An Italian company bought not too long ago… so I was just waiting for this move. 🤣 I also poured a glen of Dickle 8 yr just to make sure I still don’t care for it when you said that and…. Yep… still not good. 🤣 Man, I still want to get my hands on a Mayor Pingree, I just want one so bad for no reason at all… 😂 Excited to see the review on that JD Bonded Rye! I want one and can’t find one. Eventually it will stop evading me! 🤣 Great video my guy! Loved it and those are some nice stores for the most part. I could see myself dropping a lot of money on some bottles I see you have access to that I do not. Take care my friend and enjoy those pours! 🥃
I agree with you on the first paragraph! Sadly, 99% of the stores around me are like this. I have been keeping an eye for the blue label. I think it's the cask strength version. Dickle still sucks 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for checking in and spilling the beans🤣🥃
She would want the truth. I remember finally finding a spot in Reno, NV where I could get a pour of it, and being really disappointed. I’m sure part of the let down was the hype. It’s really just not very good. 🤷🏻♂️.
I completely glossed over it. It's different being behind a camera. I didn't notice it until I edited the video. I started to do a freeze frame and ding noise like I normally do, but it was the only one of any significance that I missed in this episode😁. I wanted to like Uncle Nearest so bad, but I have to give my honest opinion. The Rye is good and I gave it praise in episode 0131. 🥃
We need a DARE campaign against these greedy secondary prices... Just. Say. No.

Small world, I just drove by that store yesterday after visiting family in MD! Nice to get a little peek inside.
Wow! Happy to give you a virtual tour! 🥃
Where do they come up with some of these prices? Well what do i expect in Maryland. Nice video Myron 😎🥃cheers

Nice, but at that price, they can keep the glasses and the juice!🤣 I have only liked the WP 10 so far. I'd hate to waste money on a nar ornament. 🥃

That old Knob Creek was the non age stated bottle though. I didn’t care for them. Thank god they have the nine year on them again. Great hunt video!!
