This year the event has taken on a new Team Flying Dynamic with the challenge set up and the teams briefed just moments before. Balloon fly in 2 Team (this Video shows the skills of TEAM 2) as they attempt to fly in the very calm air of the pavilion towards a single target.
The target is a camera tripod and there are 3 levels of scoring,
2 point = contact between fabric and the tripod
5 points = contact between basket and tripod
20 point = ring looped over the top of the tripod

So I did a little digging a gentlemen from Belgium 🇧🇪 a Mr Allerman made this one not sure if he is still making them as its been a few years
was it the best year or were there better years
Hard to say, I think competition wise I made it SUPER HARD which perhaps didn't give us the best competition we could hope for, I like to mix it up every year so it will be something different for sure. Good to have 18 balloons up at once though during the morning, that was spectacular

yep pretty much, try to invent something new each time, nothing too complicated that people won't join in or have fun, but also something that makes people think a little about how the air in the room flows, of if they can find advantage from bumping each other. balloons are defiantly getting bigger, which makes it hard to get everyone near a single point target - so that's why this time i went for a team challenge, not lots of individuals trying to get to one place

may i ask andy where did you get your weaving willow from to make your rc basket
Yes of course I had my basket woven by a furniture weaver who grow the willow near York, they found it a pretty easy job 😄 where as I found it pretty hard work
