Nah bro, fedor took the impact on his shoulder. And a suplex is mostly a fall rather than a slam. Rampage vs Arona. That was a fucking slam, I thought he was dead.
@@gunsharckWtf are you talking about? You talking about Hughes getting choked out while he was slamming his opponent into unconsciousness? Cuz what Hughes did was very much a slam. They probably should've just given him the win then and there because Newton wrapped his arm around the cage to buy time, and that extra time with the choke sunk in is what made Hughes go uncon. If the cage grabbing didn't happen, Hughes would've slammed him sooner and KO'd him before getting choked out. But Hughes won the rematch, so it doesn't matter.
They keep hitting him to ensure the knockout, in some cases they stop hitting and give their opponent a chance to come back, they know what they are doing
Recently saw a fighter argue it’s safer than boxing because you ensure a knockout where as in boxing you can get a KO and get back on your feet in 10 and avoid KO. Boxing is way more deadly because of this simple difference. In other words this is actually safer than an attempted KO and having your opponent get back up to continue fighting.
Not allowed to punch someone directly in the back the head but you can mash them onto the back of their head on the canvas with such force AND all of their body and the other fighters body weight with zero consequence. Dumb.
That’s the result of the politicians who supported making UFC a reality in the 90s. Same as the rule prohibiting the 12-6 elbow. It doesn’t make any sense but it’s what was necessary to bring the sport into existence.
I would actually strongly propose usage of the whistle in MMA. So that judge can signal stopage at the moment when he wants. Few very important seconds before he can fisically stop the fighter from inflcting unnecessary damage.
I love slam finishes, I used to be a wrestler in high school and have done sparring with kickboxing and MMA and all that. There is just nothing that takes the fight out of another person as much as a perfect slam, other than like a liver shot or a knockout. And come on, when they sit there and hold them for a sec to set up the slam that is crazy hype anticipation, gets me off the couch usually 😅
Even tho he didn’t knock him out, my favorite slam of all time will always be when Matt Hughes took Trigg for a ride across the octagon after that low blow.
After being assaulted, I’ve been studying men’s fighting. I was drugged so I couldn’t fight back. But I know that I’m too full of anger and regret for myself to put hands on ppl. I’m 5’10 European and African. No one deserves the injuries I could possibly inflict now.
I remember that second to last knockout to me. It always looked like it was a mismatch by weight. I forgot to fight his name but I remember seeing that decades ago and Matt that was that was really tough

as much as I like this kind of stuff... there really should be negative points for mindlessly punching a guy who is clearly out... you are fighting, yes, but to win, not to kill... if you have lost all awareness and are just an attacking machine, you do not have full control of your skill and aren't much more than an animal.
Just crossed my mind. Why are punches, kicks, etc to the back of the head so protected against. But, slams where literally the only outcome is the back of your opponents head being driven into the ground with both of your weights behind it allowed? Not saying outlaw them entirely. Side dumps etc still seem ok. But the perfectly vertical, up down with their back to the canvas seems like an easy thing to protect against.
This would be great in a fight but I'm kind of amazed these kinds of slams are allowed in MMA. Some of these look really dangerous. I wonder if any of these fighters have permanent neck issues because of being slammed like that.
One in three of them didn't get knocked out from the slam itself/alone, but from an additional headbut. Which is actually illegal and should be declared a no contest.
Respect to fighter who didn't continue hit the opponent after slam, only one of them.
It's crazy that's legal, it clearly being a knockout and then elbowing their face in like what.

It’s not about respect it’s about winning at all costs. You don’t stop until the ref says stop.

the slam one's own head into the floor crowd is wild
