- Welcome to my Manchester United Football Club rebuild in Football Manager 2023, another FM23 one-off rebuild on this channel where I have rebuilt Man Utd from England (or at least attempted to!) with some insane transfers - can we take them to the top of Europe?

Can I suggest an unfashionable team team for a rebuild please Jake - Millwall! Their star centre back is also called Jake Cooper, that’s a good enough reason alone!

Not playing Sancho in a FM-save seems like a mistake. In 4 campaigns he has never failed to be a beast for me. Anthony is the one that can struggle for me but usually all you need in is a striker for that attack to be golden.
You could have received CL in 2025 cause of the Premiere League coefficient points. The best 2 nations get an added CL spot every year in the new CL system.
Regarding the Champions League bit: with the tournament being expanded to 36 teams, 2 of those spots will go to the countries with the best UEFA coefficient (i.e. England and Germany one year, England and Spain the next etc). In FM there's normally a news item saying which countries get the extra space some time just after the end of the season. In reality (because English clubs will generally do well in Europe, the Top 4 will really now become the Top 5.
That and I think Newcastle winning the Europa League must of helped with the coefficient points

@@wellpaidak yeah this season it will be implemented. They’ll be extra champions league spot for top 5 but I assume they will keep the rule where a minimum of 8 teams from the same coefficient can qualify for European competition
quite consistent with man uniteds previous managers unfortunately. 50mill for Olise then sell him for 16. buy konate for 12 and sell him for 7 and ignacio for 35 and sell him for 23. you made profit on the gk, but in FM henderson sits quietly as deputy for 3 seasons while De gea plods on. Diego costs half the price you paid in the first couple of years.
Like wise, in FM, Dolot and Bissaka do fine until Tino Livramento/ Fresneda (can be my choice if FM roll is kind and Dumfries is expensive) get better.
Barbosa on a free is cool....Todibo and Scalvini are not bad either.
I find in the first season, after a few games, if you're winning, Ansu Fati will join Man u for about 60 mill then turn into a beast and if you can sell just a couple of players to add to next seasons transfer budget then Osimhen, Bellingham Or Musiala are good value at 100mill in summer 23. Mainoo and Arrøen can give some relief to your the 1st team and once you have got rid of Salbitzer and Weghorst its possible to get great players on a loan to buy.

AS Roma rebuild, they're really struggling this season (third under Jose Mourinho). Try winning a Scudetto within 5 seasons, but buying players only from Italian teams.
The worst rebuild you've done, wasted money and players, 5 years and all that money and you didn't achieve any real domination. You are better at FM than this. You are Todd Boehly.
Great video! You should do one on my team Huddersfield we just got rid of Warnock for Darren Moore and have announced we have a '3 year plan' to get back to the Premier league. Or Sheff Wednesday who are struggling badly new in the championship, or even QPR struggling financially too.
Everton went from 14th in the first season to 5th and Champions League in the 2nd hooly no wonder you got smoked 5-0 at goodison
you manage ManUtd... Manutd is a big club and if you want to take it on next level i think you had to make more high reputations players transfers. in my opinion....

I wonder if you would have done better if you had not locked Hojlund to play and let the load been spread with him and Gabi. Instead locked Ignacio and Olise for a season so they developed would have done the team better

2019, my lovely club was in the Dutch cup final, 2020 Europa League.
Next thing we know, we relegated and this year we couldn't get promoted.

You got CL for 5th thanks to the co efficient with the new CL format. Top two leagues get an extra space. According to FM anyway. Will happen every year.

Hey Jake! I’m a newcomer to your channel and I’ve started to try do these 5 season-rebuilds and but I decided to start with Celta Vigo. I found it to be fun as they have a few great young players (Hugo Sotelo, Carlos Dominguez, etc.). It’s also a great time to do a rebuild with them with Gabri Veiga leaving the club, Iago Aspas getting old (a sad moment for a ‘celeste’ supporter such as myself) and Rafa Benitez coming in as the new manager. You could consider it a rebuild as Celta used to contend for the Europa League (getting as far as the semi-finals and losing to Man United 4-3 I believe) and were almost relegated last season. You could have a goal of trying to beat Deportivo La Coruña by winning more leagues than them and getting further in the Champions than they did (Semis I believe). It’s a bit ambitious but it might make the rebuild a bit funner. Thanks for the great content! Keep it up!
