    Pure genius! Had to modify slightly since my couch doesn't have anything loose enough to clip onto. I staple-gunned the elastic bands of the sheet grippers into the couch's wood frame. Only left about 2-3 inches of slack, so didn't end up using the zip ties. Seems to be working great so far. Thanks for the hack!

    I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I first started watching this video. I kept thinking THAT WILL NEVER HOLD! But you made me eat my words! Wow. I am 100% going to be trying this very soon. I don't have 6 dogs....but I have a husband and a 5 yr old son(who is CONSTANTLY removing the cusions to make forts)! Thank you! Thank you!

      I hope it works for you! We used them for awhile and it worked well. Then the dogs pretty much destroyed the couch so now it just has a couch cover over it and it holds well too LOL.

      @FurMamaHomemaker I don't have dogs...we have 2 cats and a little son. But my mom has 3 dogs. 3 BIG dogs. Like you! And I told them not to get that leather couch!! (It was fake). There are so many tears in that thing! It's ok. I didn't like it anyways! Can't snuggle on leather! But yes...the cushions we have are kind of over stuffed?? If that's right. And the material is very tight around the cushion. They are CONSTANTLY slipping forward and then I'm finding them half on the couch and half on the floor. And I literally have to like karate chop them into place once I put them back on the couch so that they stay. I'm SO hoping your idea is going to work for me because it's been driving me nuts! I'm just afraid my very curious 5 yr old son is going to unhook all of them. Oh well. Thanks again!

      @julieannalbuzbeba253 We had one of those fake leather couches years ago. I told my husband NEVER again LOL.

    Very informative. And I love the dog testing/playing. Too cute! I have a slipcover over my couch and have to pretty much take it off to constantly fix cushions. Which is a major pain. My couch came with Velcro at back to keep cushions attached but it really never worked anyway. I can’t wait to try this and I’m also going to do the rug grippers too I saw in another video. I’m hoping cushions won’t move at all after I do both. Thanks again🙏🏻👍🏻😁

      I'll so glad I am seeing all these comments about the velcro and liners not working. Now I know just to go straight to this hack! I kept wondering about sticking the velcro directly to my cushion fabric 😮. Thanks so much! And thanks again to the Southern gal from Northern lass!

    I feel like such a dufus. It never occurred to me to use a direct "hard-line" tether back there. The shelf liner was an abysmal failure. Velcro was even worse. Bought a couch cover as well, thinking it would hold the cusions in place but nope. I was in the right mental neighborhood for your idea though. I recently saw a product on Amazon that's essentially a big rubber band that goes all the way around your mattress that holds your bottom sheet. I was going to use that band around the couch and then have the couch cover hide the band. I was not thrilled with that idea, but I couldn't think of anything else that was inexpensive. The best part of your idea for me is I already have zip ties and the sheet clips. If my clips on hand turn out to not be strong enough, I'll probably try tarp clips.
    Thank you very much for taking the time to share. You have no doubt saved me time and money but probably a good portion of my sanity. Thank you.

    OK so I have a question!!! My couch has, like I told u in a separate comment, cloth covered cushions that are filled tight. They DO have the ridge around the outside edge of the cushion for me to attach one end of the strap. But the problem is that I DONT have any zipper or anything down inside of the couch itself. And I can't feel anything inside there that I think I could attach the other end to except for loose material. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can attach the other end of the strap to the inside of the couch? Should I try and squeeze together some of the loose fabric and attach it to that down in the back inside of the couch? Wondering if you had any thoughts of ideas???

    • @FurMamaHomemaker
      @FurMamaHomemaker  5 месяцев назад +1

      You could try to squeeze together some of the fabric, or you might could try sewing the strap to the couch

    • @julieannalbuzbeba253
      @julieannalbuzbeba253 5 месяцев назад

      @FurMamaHomemaker the only problem with sewing the strap to the couch....is if I wanted to do it in an inconspicuous area I would have to do it by memory only....I mean I would have to do it without actually SEEING what I was doing! Lol....I think I'm going to try squeezing/pinching together some of the material and clasping it on to that. I'll let you know how it works! Won't be for a few weeks but I'm definitely doing this!!

    The suspenders wouldn't hold for me but I did find a cheap effective solution. I bought a firm style "rug pad" from Home Depot. 2ft by 8ft and cut in half for each couch,. one mat side rough like to be used on concrete and one side rubbery like whats used for hardwood floors. 10 dollars and the cushions havent budged an inch since.

      That's awesome to know, I might try that! I told my husband our next couch would have the built in cushions lol!

      Which side did you face up toward the cushions- the rough side or the rubber side?
      I have 3 boys and my cushions are driving me nuts! I'm going to do all the things!

      Non slip rug matts/shelf matts under the cushions works perfectly
