Thanks George. There were a number of things that were new to me in solving some of the problems I have had in the past. One big help was the use of the Blend mode.

Glad it helped! That color blend mode works great as long as you keep in mind that the end result will be darker.

George, skvělá práce ten výběr byl, ale hodně složitý ok.👍👏

You are correct, this was a tricky problem to solve. Because of that magenta outline the faster ways of doing this just didn't work.

Those zippers, shadows, and dark areas give me headaches. Thanks again for the detailed tutorial.

George, no I haven't got my wrist pad yet so I still have falling selections!!! LOL!!!! I kind of wish PSE would do away with that hair trigger, I like to do most of my editing in the morning and I sure can tell when I have had enough caffeine!
Thank you for all you do, great class again, great example and the life or death is always in the detail!!!

Yep Rich, you need that wrist rest, it is the only way to go. Besides it is ergonomic and lessens the chances of carpel tunnel syndrome. I know what you mean about enough caffeine, I picked up that bad habit in art school. On this photo I was actually planning on just using the Replace Color tool and doing a quick video, that magenta outline was a surprise to me. But then it made for a better video, so what the heck.

@@HTGGeorge I already have carpel tunnel syndrome in both wrist. The main negative is the loss of a steady hand. I use to have one of those wrist rest and need to check amazon or Ebay maybe even Walmart may carry them still. On the fringe comment you made, that is exactly why I follow you! You got that eye for detail and always have a fix or a way to handle it, sometimes they are very creative just like how you fixed the fringing in this video!!! That is worth it right there 1000X over!!!
Thank you for all you do!!!

@@MrMoonpie001 Sorry to hear about the carpel tunnel, I have always used wrist rests on my keyboard and mouse pad and after 40 years of computer work, no wrist problems. Just checked Amazon, loads of wrist and keyboard rests.
It is surprising how often that desaturate trick works on photos. My next go to is to burn the layer mask, followed by burning the image layer. Usually one of those three solves the problem. I don't like the Defringe tool because it just cuts into the image, and it does it for the whole outline, not just for the problem areas. Kind of like using an axe to open a walnut.
