Hey I joined the server and I have a question about Vecna. Why does he need four kills? Let me give context: so we know that Vecna was behind the Mind flayer and the mind flayer bit Eleven in season 3, thus her powers are gone. Thus in season 4 Vecna is able to open up his own gates …. BUT why four gates. Eleven used her powers to only open one gate and that did enough damage. But why does Vecna need 4. I understand the clock chimes 4 times but why should that dictate his number of gates and kills if his own purpose is to not be dictated by anything.????? So yeah why 4?
Why do people forget that Henry has powers of illusion? What he showed Nancy isn’t necessarily the future, but simply an illusion of what’s going to happen to scare her.
not necessarily an illusion, he really did want to do the things he showed her, but the plan had already been in motion since the beginning of the season, yk with the 4 chimes?? so he just showed her what he wanted to happen, and what he planned to do.

When Chrissy was in the forest and saw that clock right before she bumped into Eddie, you can see that it’s exactly like the end of Hawkins! 4 cracks opening up to a big hole in the middle with spiders coming out. The spider represent the monsters!

Very good observation! Indeed the cracks on the glass clearcly resemble the cross-shaped opening of Hawkins at the end of season 4. And yes the spiders that came out of the crack could possible hint at the Upside Down monsters that will come out of the chasms to invade Hawkins. Season 5 will be amazing!
fun fact: in season two, after will didn’t want to shower because “he likes it cold”, hes sleeping in his parents room with joyce and his eyes are rolling around under his eyelids, just like henry.
Didn't Brenner tell Eleven that when Henry/Vecna/001 kills, he consumes his victim? Including their abilities? What they were and what they will ever become? And there was a subject in Stranger Things books, you know one of the numbers who could see into the future. Perhaps he acquired that ability during Hawkins Lab Massacre.

What if Henry was born with his powers because of Victor's time in the war? Hopper confessed that the chemicals he and others came into contact with had effects on their offspring. So, what if in the lore of Stranger Things, it affected Victor's son with extraordinarily abilities.
THIS is a well thought out theory. That actually makes a lot of sense. He was in the war, id have to watch again to see if he was around radiation, but i’m guessing yes. I wondered that too. I believe the upside down has always been lurking under Hawkins, El opened the portal the first time, but i always wondered where the powers came from. Or he was just born like that? Yours sounds good!
@@improbablya7 eh I'd say it's more of a loose theory considering they were separate wars but who knows maybe the Nazis were experimenting with stuff from the upside down and Victor stumbled upon it and it just latched onto him it could work due to the shit the Nazis were actually doing in real life but the theory could use some work
Hopper was in Vietnam mixing agent orange. I don’t think they did that in WWII which victor served in as he said he ordered a shelling in France on German soldiers.

Hitler was trying to create the perfect race through eugenics, and there was alot of occult and supernatural stories surrounding the Nazi's as well! So it makes sense if he was a byproduct of Nazi experimentation done on his father

Ya like litrelly, she can make people dissappear (like how she did to the cops) which is really helpful while fighting those monsters
There's an article out there that discusses Erica's dice roll in the first episode. Eleven wasn't enough, Erica had to roll a 20. Eleven + Eight = 19...and One. Somehow they're going to use the mindspace and piggybacking abilities to combine their powers and Henry's to finally defeat Vecna. I'm not sure how, though.

I lean towards the powers being hereditary and amplified by experiments done on them. Stephen King is obviously a big influence on ST and we've got "Firestarter" where a little girl developed pyrokinesis because she inherited powers from both her parents (who'd been experimented on).
However, I think Hopper's Vietnam story about being exposed to Agent Orange, it changing him and thus him blaming himself for his daughter's cancer is another hint towards the hereditary and chemical influence angle of the powers.

I know that the duffers always add things in for a reason and nothing (mostly) is by accident. I really think that Vecna showed Nancy because he wanted to scare the group, because like you said they’re pretty predictable, show them something horrible and they will try to be the hero, to save their friends to save their town. But this vision wasn’t the future it was a possibility. The group made it a reality when they came up with the plan. It’s kind of like in Harry Potter, Voldemort shows harry a vision of a captured Sirius black being tortured, which wasn’t true but it drew harry and his friends to the ministry of magic. But anyways this theory is proven by a few foreshadowing details, in episode 1 Eddie says, “there is no shame in running” something we all think is meant for Eddie himself as his character is a coward but he says this to the the party which is usually those in stranger things that are facing the monsters. In episode 8 papa tell 11 that Henry lied and her used her like a puppet and in episode 9 Eddie shreds to “master of PUPPETS”. Vecna didn’t even have to try for the last kill the last kill came to him… which is why he says “you and your friends believe you have won” he did exactly what he wanted them to do
Also Vecna does have the power to show victims things which are not there like 008 sooooo…..

He does have the power to show things that aren’t there but not the same as 008. 008 powers showing something there is way more “real” when vecna does it you know it isn’t real cause he can’t use that power in the real world, he can only do it in his mind space
I think that Will is still working with him and that it was actually Vecna that commissioned his painting.
I also think Will hid a clue in the painting in a way that Vecna wouldn't notice.
Look at the blue portal in the Wizard's hand... Mike's leg is intentionally drawn partly over it, up to the knee. It almost looks like he is being pulled into it.
I like the time powers theory and i do think it has some sort of truth about it, and the upside down being stuck on the day Will entered has to be used someway, but a cool twist would be Vecna knowing the timeline and letting them atack him and all that because that's the only timeline where he wins in the end, Avengers: Endgame Style .

I thought this immediately after I finished season 4
Might be a little esoteric, but I've had a theory since S1 that there is some Eldritch God at play.
Season one seemed to be heavily inspired by The Hounds of Tindalos, which is in the Lovecraftian mythos. These dog like creatures hunt time travelers and inter-demensional travelers, and are said to attack through the angles of time, and can just sort of appear anywhere as they inhabit 'angular time' instead of our 'curved time'. These Hounds are said to serve a giant wolf God who has been at war with another God called Yog-Sothoth, who is said to be the Master of Time, Keeper of Gates and Eater of Souls. I think the Mind Flayer is akin to Yog-Sothoth.
Yog-Sothoth is an ancient being (older than the dinosaurs as Dustin might say) who is tied to all of time and space, yet completely locked out of mainstream reality. In The Dunwich Horror, the plot involves opening a gate to his realm and the main character, Wilbert Whateley, is a decendant of Yog-Sothoth, develops reptilian skin with snake like bulges and tendrils before he is killed by dogs. There are also flocks of nocturnal birds called "Whip-poor-wills" that flock around people who are about to die to capture their soul as it leaves.
Anyway... I think that the Duffer Brothers leaned pretty heavy on the old Lovecraft stuff, which makes sense as it was pretty foundational to the lore of D&D itself.
what i love about the end, is that it left on a cliffhanger they would use at the end of an episode, which means that the next season will start off in a really attention-grabbing entertaining situation.

So, I have a theory about the grandfather clock too. Ms Kelly(the woman that vecnas victims were talking to) has a necklace that is almost shaped like a key and the grandfather clock has a room for a key and so what if mrs Kelly is possessed by vecna and the key is the key for the clock and mrs Kelly is transporting the victims’ trauma to vecna and that is how he knows the traumas of the victims. There is a real big possibility that vecna and S5 having something with ms Kelly
I think this is a good theory bro. I was also thinking about the Brenner thing too. I'm kinda wondering if Brenner knows how to bring the powers out of peoppe somehow...I'm not sure but definitely Henry's mom is suspicious.

@fck diarmuid Last Well, Max did die for a bit, until Eleven brought her back. I'm pretty sure she's in a coma, which also explains why Vecna managed to make the huge portal in the middle of Hawkins. But in the end, no she is not dead, but she did die which is why the music played.
The thing is vecna always seemed to find away around his failures
1. He tried to kill his entire family but passed out before he was able to kill his dad
so he found an alternative to frame his dad for the death of his wife and daughter
2. He may have let hopper and Joyce find will in the upside down with out sending the demogorgon after them
3. He was able to leave some of the mind flare outside the upside down
4. He was able to steal some of 11 power through the flesh flayer
5. He trapped max into baiting him as if that was his planned the whole time
You didn't mention the strong possibility that Vecna is El's father. That would explain her specific powers that are like his. He would have been 22 at the time of her birth and been at the laboratory when El's mother was there.
All of children had the same powers. Except the girl In season 2 who for some reason wasn't in the lab in flashback wasn't killed and didnt have the same powers? Plot holes

Henry would have to impregnate the women when he was like 7-8 which is impossible.
He doesn't know the future- he has a plan and he likes to share it- he is confident in him self and blieves in his plan and never hesitate. He has good reasons: he is stronger than eleven, he doesn't strugle to curse and kill people/making his plan work, so what can possibly ruin his plan... unfortunately for him eleven arraives, they discover the music thing and have a plan but he knows how things work better than the group and blieves they can't defeat him so he always stays confident in his visualised plan...

I would've destroyed the clock when they go into the house the first time. I had that thought before I saw any theories about it, except my thoughts had more to do with Vecna's Curse. I was thinking about how the clock chimes every time he's enforcing his curse on the victim, and I thought somebody should have tried destroying that clock to see if it does anything.

He's using social engineering & not seeing the future. It's high probability based on assumed predictive actions of the characters. Nothing is set in stone even though the gates where opened like he predicted...it's only because it was inevitable for Max to "die".

I mostly agree with this theory, however maybe vecna was showing nancy a possibility of the future. Kinda like that one scene in endgame where Dr. Strange sees 14,000,605 scenarios in which one they win. I think season 4 was the infinity war of stranger things, leading into the endgame where they win but at the cost of a huge death, like they did with iron man
i wanna know why there were sooo many parallels between will and henry in season 4. i wanna know why will was the one taken in season 1 and kept alive. i just need answers on how will is truly connected to the upside down/vecna.
Vecna can see though demobats and the mindflayer, BUT we don't know if he can see through demogorgans, since a demogorgan took Will, Vecna would never had known
@@sauceboss9797 This. Also, the Demogorgan wasn't just hunting humans for the sake of it. It was hunting for food in general (that's why saw it killing wild deer, as well).
As for Will, there's already an official comic detailing everything that happened to him and how he survived. We already have those answers for the most part, and it can be surmised that Will was only left alive long enough to incubate a few infantile demogorans (especially since he BARELY survived by the time Hopper and Joyce found him).

I remember that Will was hiding and that the slide lock slid open right in front of him, which would make more sense if it was a telepathic thing like 11 or 1 has. I don't think vecna showed Nancy the future, I just think he showed her what vecna played to do, not the future,
I feel the time travel aspect with Vecna is like how Marvel comics recently used it. Travelling via consciousness. Not identical but I'm guessing a form of it using telepathy and travelling along/with thoughts and memories in a way we aren't privy too just yet.
Also, after rewatching the scene where 11 was born (her happy memory) there was flashes of red flashes (like in the Upside Down) and even red sparkles of some sort. I wonder if the Upside Down has or adds to or turns on mental ability powers.
Also I think vecna showed Nancy what he wanted to happen, not the literal future ? Just a thought

dude, what?? you're reading WAY too much into the line about Brenner, all it implies is that Brenner was the doctor Virgina was going to send Henry too, theres no need to look further into it. and don't just lie, Henry did not state the reason why he killed her was because she was a bad person, he explictily stated he killed her because she was going to send him away. if you just rewatched ep 7 and 8 then don't just lie when discussing them. he was going to kill all 3 members of the family, but couldn't kill victor because he had reached his limit and victor heard a song that snapped him out of the trance. this also completely disregards the point of him "looking into the past", hes just looking at peoples memories. we can literally see him (the mind flayer) corrupt one of Billys happy memories and turn it into a bunch of horrible memories, keep in mind he literally stated he found his strength from a bad memory. we can also see him corrupt Maxs happy memory before turning it into a not-happy memory. hes not closing his eyes and seeing history, hes just reading peoples memories. turning back the clock is a metaphor as well as a transition, right after we see the clock we hear about Henry reading the memories of his parents past and using it against them. this isn't him literally using the clock, its just another one of his psychic abilties
I wish they had the upside down stuck in the future rather than the past (that way the characters could worry that that’s what would happen to the world in the future when Vecna succeeds)

The upside down isn’t necessarily stuck in the past, remember the snow ball dance in the ending of season 2 and the upside down version looked exactly liked the normal one? Meaning that it’s not stuck in 1983 I think Nancy only saw the 1983 date because she has trauma from barb missing during that time period

I believe he showed Nancy what would happen because he was confident that his plan would work. But he can’t see the future.
He told Nancy, to tell Eleven what she saw….but Eleven wasn’t even in Hawkins. And Vecna interacted with Eleven before Nancy even did. If he could see the future he would’ve known that. He was also surprised to see Eleven when she “piggybacked from a pizza dough fridge” 😂

Love your theory with the clock and vecna seeing the future it’s so good and it makes sense and also would answer so many questions! I had just assumed that vecna planned or needed /wanted the kids and el to kill his physical body ? I assumed that it was the only way for him to be freed from the uoside down??? Plus we know he can somehow see the future so I’m sure he would have seen them kill his body and would have known so why leave himslef vulnerable? Bc it’s how he is freed. He wants her to “kill” him again meaning if she was to do exactly the same thing as when she sent him to the upside down from the real world “kill” him then he would go back to the right side up like whenever we could see his body disappearing out of our world it went to the up side down we’re he was trapped so doing the exact same thing in the up side down or even just destroyed his physical body this would do the same as it did the first time but this time he would be in the real world it’s basically as though everything he’s ever wanted is happening he wanted to remake the work in his own image then el puts him in this place that Is exactly what he would imagine a beautiful world would look like without human kind too the only problem was that he couldn’t destroy our world in the process which is kinda if his whole end game and hurting el of course so now that el did exactly as he planned and we know how good he is at manipulating so next he will complete his plan to create his ideal world once max dies the two worlds start to merg so all vecna needs now is to be free of being a prisoner to the upside down he can’t get out of the upside down bc free to go into either world or the real world which has now merged with the up side down making it just one world ??
So here’s what I like about your theory with the clock it would make sense bc how else would he have known he needed to make those gates specially those 4 gates exactly where those gates are and when and who would be in that location so that he could vecna them? and even tho he choose them based on guilt and trama maybe it was about “where” he killed them in order to make the upside down spill into the right side up!
My biggest question is why didn’t vecna try to kill el right away like he did with all the other numbers at the lab? Vecna tells her that she is superior to her siblings but I can’t see him passing up the opportunity to kill someone just bc they are the strongest of that group of people I think the opposite would happen he would kill them bc they are the strongest so why ask her to join him he is a solitary predator what does he need el for? ! it’s just very strange how he cares about her so much and says he was so glad she was born ..but why bc they are alike ?? Season 1 was darker imo. Cali storyline was pretty comedic and it was campier than S1. If you don't know anything about S1 and watch it, stuff like Joyce talking to Will is pretty fucking chilling, because you have no idea about anything.

Season 5 is gonna end with Vecna and 11 teaming up to try to defeat the MindFlayer.
Everybody thinks Vecna created the mindflayer, he said he stumbled upon it.
It showed him "creating" the Spider form, but what if the Mindflaye took that moment to enter Vecnas mind instead.
The Mindflayer saw the real world and wanted it, so he used Vecna and 11 as two sides to a portal.
That's why Vecna always hooks onto those tentacles when he projects himself to the real world.
It's like one side of a portal.
The best way to lead someone is to let them think that their making the decisions.
The Mindflayer built trust with the spider form, and used vecna the whole time.
If Vecna wanted to get back to the real world, he easily could have in every season through any of the gates that got opened. I dont think he wanted to. He hated people, why would he want to go back. The upside down is what he dreamed about, No humans, an open world that he could explore and create whatever he wanted.
I'm predicting hes a similar villain to the one that John Cena played in F9.
Did it out of Anger and Misinformation, but in the end switching to the good side and helping beat the Ultimate Evil.
The MindFlayer officially has his true form in the real world, he isnt just a "Projection" in someones mind.

Season 2: He went their through Wills Mind.
Season 3: He used billy to get to 11 and take her powers.
Season 4: He used Vecna to open the gate and then was floating over Hawkins.

Hes gonna be way to powerful for 11.
11 and Vecna are gonna have to team up to defeat the MindFlayer.
Maybe she’ll invade his mind and look for a happy memory just like she did with Billy. It made Billy choose love and happiness instead of anger.
See You have some good points and it could also be true if there’s no monologues about the mind flayer in the series. Duffers as well as Jamie himself told in a recent interview that mind flayer is like a baby to vecna he created that. You can go check the interview on Netflix
Vecna himself took credit of what had happened from S1 until now. “It was vecna/henry/001 all along”. It’s very clear when you know it’s vecna and binge the whole thing with that mindset which I did. All he wanted was someone to open the gate. So El did open the gate in S1 and didn’t close it. In S2 she closed it. Until now El was the only one who could open a gate. We did see how much effort it took to open a gate physically when Russians were trying. So henry saw this and he wanted to find how El do this. That’s why using Billy, and through mind flayer vecna managed to make a blood connection with El (remember El was injured and a piece of the mind flayer in flesh form entered her leg). For vecna, It is a kind of absorbing El’s power or trying to understand what she was capable of. Now that he has her power in a way, he found a way to open his own gates in S4.
As for vecna to attach himself on the tentacles according to what I understand is, to enhance his powers and to protect himself while he is in the trance like state from a possible attack (just like nancy and the gang did), cause we saw in E7 the bats saw the guys riding the bikes and vecna saw it too which means he already is attached to the hive mind all because he has acquired the power of the mind flayer. I’d like to call the mind flayer as the brain rather than calling him a separate super powerful structure because the mind flayer clearly doesn’t have a motive to attack our world. It was vecna who had the motive. So he’s using the mind flayer not the other way round. I’m telling this because even though the mind flayer is super powerful in it’s own way it doesn’t matter. Because in S2 we clearly saw that it doesn’t stand a chance when there is no gate open. But who did have the power even if there is no gate? Well..vecna. He could reach out.
As for the S1 also I believe the demogorgen was here to do his dirty work because demogorgen never killed a person. His job was to bring people to the UD to make them hosts for those slug like creatures to be born(demodogs). We only saw the demogorgen eat a dear. In a way I think demogorgens are like highly intelligent creatures cause demodogs and demobats all were simply predators they were charged with attack anyone who comes between like. I think this is simply a battle between 001 and 011. The story was written to be like that from the beginning. One and el teaming up to defeat some greater evil seems kinda fantasy.
El was able to get through to Billy’s mind cause he was host. His mind was being invaded by another. So it was easy to bring him back just like in S2 Joyce and others were able to get through to Will and Will communicated through morse code. Henry is one with a mission and a vision. He’s disappointed with the world and he saw fit to kill his own mother and sister because they were somehow guilty with past trauma. I don’t see a silver lining in such a person. Jamie literally said 001 and 011 are “alpha and omega in greek where one is light and the other is darkness”.

The only problem with that is the fact there was a gate open throughout every season that would allow vecna through. None of the gates where able to accommodate the size of the Mind Flayer, besides season 2 and now. Season 2 he was trying to go through while 11 was closing the gate.
And now he finally made it through, all this while Will had just said that Vecna was hurting but not dead.
If S5 picks up right at that last scene then Vecna would still be recovering while the MindFlayer is finally free in the real world.
Everything else has just been a projection of him, Vecna was responsible but he was under the mindflayer thumb.
He simply let Vecna think he was in charge, so he could ultimately get what he wants. S5 is gonna reveal the Mindflayers true identity.

@@botmonmon6089 I can’t entirely agree with the accommodate the size of the mind flayer part. Cause if we collect the particles into a conical flask even there’s your mind flayer. Same as it was trapped in a box in Russia. Same as it was collected in soil samples of S2. Same as it was resting on the soil since the gate was closed and came alive soon as the gate opened in S3. Even a small bit is the mind flayer itself. It’s not about every single particle of the mind flayer should get out.
If we think mind flayer is a super duper creature with a power more than vecna hold (as a possibility), what you’re saying is true. But, if it’s the other, what the monologues clearly said, it was never about the mind flayer getting out in the first place. What vecna wants to do is in his own way of looking at the world, bring balance to this world right. So he was carrying out his plan step by step. When he realized that he cannot attack our world when there is no gate open, he found out the way to open a gate in S3. That’s the game changer season according to my point of view. That brings us to S4. Vecna is injured. He might not even return in his human form in S5. He doesn’t have to. He’s more powerful now so he can finally transcend his human form to the predator he always was born to be. That might be the creature with a gaping mouth that Nancy saw. All of this started when El banished henry to the UD. So it should end with those two that’s my point of view. In each season we saw SOMETHING gets stronger and stronger in each season. In S4 we were told that vecna is the one behind everything happened in prior seasons so he should be the BIGGEST SOMETHING we wanted. If they give us another story line where there’s something stronger than him it’s just bs.
@MichaelJae I think Vecna can see versions of the future. He’s had to slowly build his powers, and maybe knew the kids would set him on fire and it was the only way to set him free from the last parts of his human form. I think he built the replica of Hawkins in the beginning because it was the only way to “spy” on the town, the people, and the lab. Then he discovered that once the gate was open, he could grab someone (preferably weak minded like a bullied little kid) and get a stronger connection to the real world. Once he had the connection, he could work on his plan to combine both the Upside down and the real world. I think his human was holding him back. It was weak, slow, and easy to hurt. He needed to break free and join the dust particles.
My other prediction will be Eleven will turn the dust particles/the mind Flayer on Vecna. If he can manipulate the particles, why can’t she?
The reason why Vecna has the ability to see into what happens is because, as Brenner explained before, in the way Henry kills, he consumes their memories and their abilities. Everyone he kills, he takes on their powers, which explains why he wanted to kill all the kids in the lab. He killed them so he would have all the power combined. One of the kids who was a victim to the Massacre at hawkins lab could see into the future when Brenner took him for a lesson.

Wait so Terry Ives had her powers given to her by Papa and because she was pregnant while taking part in MK Ultra and ended up passing on powers to Eleven. So the powers were essentially given to them. Also I use to have a theory that they are clones of either Terry or even Papa maybe cuz pretty much all the kids kind of look alike, which might just be the haircuts and hospital gowns but it does make me wonder if some of them have some genealogy in common. Probably not, I think they are probably just random kids he has found using his program and taking advantage of frightened parents. Speaking of other kids, who else thinks 8 should come back and help fight Vecna with the crew?!

Maybe he can see *possible* futures? Like a multiverse type thing? I agree it wouldn't make sense for him to be able to see the future exactly, otherwise he would never have been foiled in some of his past attempts, but I could see him having some type of ability that helps him predict things.

I think there's more to it than that. The first roll was an eleven, which wasn't enough. 9 more was needed to get to 20. Will Byers is 9 letters and we know he'll play a crucial role. He could develop powers due to his connection to Vecna. Looking further into it, there were only 2 players in any condition to fight, meaning the rest of the group could be incapacitated. Eleven tried, failed. With Will Byers, a 20 can be rolled to defeat Vecna. As you said, the first attack missed because it was just Eleven. The second will hit as Will will help.

Although, Billy and Will have already gained powers, though used for evil whilst being possessed. We also don't really know how people get powers, as that question hasn't yet been answered. He could also potentially be a spy for them due to his connection or a self sacrifice.

I think there's such heavy handed parallels between Will and Henry Creel because we're going to end up discovering Henry has been manipulated & used every bit as Will was except Henry has never realized it. He thinks he's the 'master' of the Upside Down, but he's just another pawn imo. Pride goeth before a fall and one of Vecna's fatal flaws is his massive ego. If he really is nothing but a pawn for some far greater power in the Upside Down, that's really going to mess with his head. I don't see him ever turning good, but I might see an enemy-of-my-enemy-is-my-friend scenario and only help the good guys because they're the ones going after whatever true master of the Upside Down to destroy it.

I'm not certain about this particular theory, but I decided to rewatch the show from the beginning (Season 1). One thing that I notice (since I was using a headset this time around), was that when El is in her "mindspace", you can hear a ticking of a clock. I do wonder if this was just simply a timer warning her that she only had so much time allowed while submerged, but it also crossed my mind that she may be hearing the Grandfather Clock of Henry's.

The Clock has been in every season and we didn't even know. When Will fell off his bike because he was getting chased by the demogorgon you could here the clock tick and when Billy was about to be controlled by the mind flayer you could also here the clock
I noticed the chimes of a clock different times through the seasons, and told my sister (who also loves Stranger Things) about it. For years we have thought time travel would somehow come into play. Then with season 3, which included Back To The Future, we KNEW we were onto something.
How cool would it be if they included some more Metallica in season 5? I'm thinking "For Whom The Bell Tolls" needs to make an appearance.

Henry and 11’s mothers don’t have powers. MK Ultra was a human experimentation program ran by the CIA that tested the use of psychedelic drugs such as LSD on participants for the purpose of mind control. Stranger Things rooted their plot in in MK Ultra to suggest that 11’s mother’s exposure to psychedelic drugs during pregnancy gave her child psychic abilities, as is the case with the other children from Hawkins Lab. I think in season 5 we will learn more about Henry’s mother, and about how something from her past (possibly exposure to psychedelic drugs and a past connection to Dr. Brenner?) gave her son powers, which Dr. Brenner tried to replicate with the other children.
Did you not watch Season 2? 11's mother did have powers. It's just that her brain was fried but still managed to communicate psychic-ly with 11.

I just gotta say overall I absolutely love how they did this character. when we first see him as Peter Ballard hes creepy, mostly due to the context of the weird time loop shit when eleven first went into the memories, then as they go on we're endeared to him more and more and then comes the like quintuple twist that not only is he One, but he's also victor creel's son, Killed the rest of the creel family, is vecna, eleven is the reason he is Vecna and in the upside down, and is responsible for the massacre at hawkins lab. All while tying it together organically and making it mean different things to different characters. the fantastic performance from Jamie Campbell Bower doesnt hurt either.
by like the fourth scene with him I had just about figured out that he was One when he started giving eleven advice on how to use her powers, but once i figured that out I was like "haha i figured it out I know exactly what this character is about" but NAW

I'm pretty sure he was just showing Nancy his plans that he was imagining and sharing the image in his mind. He even says it is his plans for the future before showing her.
Theory Alice actually did survive she was found by a member of the people who investigated the murder of the family his name was bill Ives. She was then nursed back to health and adopted by the Ives changing her name to Terry. She might have had small amounts of power in her passing it down to Jane. Which means that 11 might be the neice of Henry and Terry might be the recovered and healed version of Alice. Alice and Terry where both born in 1951 to ad on to my theory
This makes way more sense than the theory in which Alice is actually Karen Wheeler. But how could Alice run to the Ives house with her limbs broken and eyes exploded ?
