In my opinion it's because they all just slap a filter on. The hard part is converting digital noise to organic film grain. I feel that Dazz Cam does it beautifully.
8mm vintage camera is definitely mimicking the way that tungsten film reacts without an 85b filter, with the yellow highlights and purple shadows it looks exactly like how kodak vision 5213 looks like in daylight

Ok, first of all, select the B612 app on your phone, then select video, then Effects, then Mood, then you will see Super 8, select that and you will see 7 Super 8 styles, remember when you use it, hold your phone Lengthways, to properly render it at 18fps, use the VLLO app which will allow you to convert it at 18fps which was the standard frame rate back then, what make and model of smartphone do you use.

Goodness man can you not hold the camera still? All we get to see is the hand held slates. Really annoying choices! How about a solid 5 seconds of a shot? Then pan to another shot and hold for five. Just a suggestion.
Watching this reminds that it is so difficult to actually emulate the 8 mm format. There's always something off with them.

Too sharp, too smooth, no gate weave, no gate artifacts. Most of the apps have been very lazily made
Please look at my other videos as some might be better.
