You are fantastic. So clear, so cogent, so calming!! I am 59 . I’ve had pvcs since age 18. A few years ago, I developed a run of NSVT on a Holter monitor. After doing unfortunate Google search I scared the crap out of myself expecting sudden death. I saw an electrophysiologist and he reassured me. I make sure to get echo and stress echo every 1-2 years. But now I can feel the episodes of Nsvt. This video really really helped me calm down and get perspective. Thank you so much!!!
You are an angel for bringing so much peace and calm to so many anxious people. You are gifted in many ways including your intelligence but also your compassion for others. Many doctors don't have the time or patience to sit here and explain these things to patients in terms that we can understand. But you do. And for that, so many of us are indebted to you. Thanks for all you do.
fair_shares I could not agree more, many doctors don't spent the time or are just in a rush to get you in and out. I typically hear you're fine and that's about it. While that's not bad it's still not enough for how aware some of us are of our hearts and there's no amount of thanks I can give that would show how grateful I am for the videos Dr Gupta :)
farrahcantdecide Yes Farrah; to what you just said about that Doctor, & my name is Oscar, & I'm a 49 yr old African American!! Who just wanted to say thank you also for your saying about this Doctor,
Thank you Farrah, for your saying about this Doctor, cause I, felt the same way after listening to his great video of medical advice I, to thank the Doctor, so Very much 💝
This is a great topic - I have been “diagnosed” with NSVT - I have worn. monitors 6 times and each time I have had 3 to 7 beats of NSVT. I have felt it every time and indicated that with the button. THAT all said - never have I felt faint/dizzy or anything other than “oh…that felt weird” - I ride my bike (pedal bike) 100 to 140 miles a week. I am proof of what is said here. I did have tests to make sure this was not an indicator of heart disease as there is a ton of it on my dad’s side. But the great news is - no heart disease so this is just something I’ll have every once in a while and go on with a happy healthy life
I know this is an old post but this was exactly what I needed to hear! I have had runs of 3-7 beats of VT with bi-Gemini, and couplets, but mainly PVC after PVC. Normal heart and history. The anxiety has most certainly caused the episodes to get worse when started but this message has for certain helped to put my mind at ease. Thank you Doctor!
I was finally put on Flecanide 50mg twice a day. 90% reduction of Pre Ventricular Complexes. It has been life changing. I started it about two weeks ago and it has worked wonders for me. Most if not all of my anxiety is gone. I still have PVC burden but I can barely feel them. I definitely do not have the issues that plagued me for so long. After a stress test and echo I started Flecanide. With Metiprolol if things get out of control. Thankfully I have not needed anything but the Flecanide and my anxiety meds. I am so grateful for this medicine. In the future I may have an ablation done but for now the meds are working. I wish you the best of luck.
This was extremely useful and reassuring. Just met with cardiologist today and reviewed my results. Heart monitor had more than one 3 NSVT examples over a week. Stress test and echocardiogram the week after the monitor both provided excellent results. No family history. No exercise induced blackouts. Never could tell i was having the palpitations. I feel so much better now. Thank you so much
Such useful information. My Ventricular tach only showed up on a treadmill stress test at 85% of my max heart rate. Only lasted 5 seconds. No other risk factors and other healthy, so I'm hoping this is nothing to worry about
Not sure which is more comforting; Dr. Gupta's knowledge or scrolling through the comments and seeing that I'm not alone. This is such a reassuring and comforting community, I always walk away from these feeling much more at ease and empowered. Thank you doctor!
Thank you once more. You are two for the price of one: an excellent cardiologist and an excellent psychologist. I listen to you and the calming effect is so amazing. Thank you again for your clear and " down to earth" explanations.
This is a wonderful video and has relieved much anxiety. We can only wish all Doctors would take the time, and have the give a darn to explain things as you have here, reassuring the patient. It helps to know WHY we shouldn’t be overly concerned. When your MD just says “don’t worry, it’s benign,” that’s not all that helpful when you are the type who is proactive in your healthcare and want to understand what is occurring and why. I’ll sleep better tonight. Thank you again
Thank you for this. I've been having palpitations for over a year now. My echocardiogram and holter monitor came back normal, but I still get isolated palpitations which really bother me. Today though I had what felt like a ventricular tachycardia which lasted about 4 beats and that really scared me. I feel a lot better about it now, so thanks again.
Thanks for very informative video. I am 66 years old and found out 4 years ago that I have NSVT condition but after watching your video, I can tell friends I have Non sustained Ventricular Tachycardia. Thank you once again.
Your videos have been very helpful. I have AVNRT F/S that goes on for days. It's just helpful to know that it isn't as dire as it feels. I've had cryo and rf ablation but the little area that locks the electrical loop into place grew back.
Thank you so much for your elaborate explanation. It is very comforting and helpful to hear and understand. While I haven't been diagnosed with this, I have times where I'm in a position sitting or laying where it seems my stomach or something else irritates my heart and it shoots out 3-6 fast beats. It doesn't happen too often but, I notice the flutter and feel my pulse and feel a few quick bounces. Thank you again!
Thank you for this video. I have had a year of PVC’s and recently (a week post partum) I experienced a run of 3 PVC’s which I was told was NSVT and I’ve been absolutely petrified since. My paternal uncle died of sudden cardiac death at 45 but otherwise no family history. I’ve had 2 normal echo’s except some trace/trivial regurgitation… I’m just petrified that I’m going to drop dead. These palpitations have well and truly taken over my life 😢 I feel every single palpitation too, I have no idea how to feel reassured, how to calm down or how to cope. It’s ruining my life
@@micheles3013 much better. I get them occasionally now particularly in high stress or around my cycle, but they’ve significantly reduced. I think they were largely due to huge shifts in hormones as well as blood loss, which made me iron deficient too. I would say if experiencing them, get an echo, get a holter monitor and see your burden. If clear you can do small things to help them, like supplements: coQ10, l-carnitine and magnesium taurate were really helpful for me. I also had blood tests at the GP, mainly your electrolytes, thyroid and full blood count will be looked at, but I specifically asked for them to check my ferritin which is when I found out I was iron deficient (which can cause palpitations too). I hope that helps. It does get easier. X
You explain things very well. And I can tell you know what you're talking about young man. I'm not a doctor but I do know a bit about this.A lot of doctors never talk and say enough. Listening to you was a big relief in my mind and I'm sure a lot of others too.
I had two attacks, 12 months apart. First one lasted 30 mins or so, went to hospital and they brought it down. 2nd one lasted hour and a half whilst I waited for an ambulance, (uk). When ambulance arrived my heart went back to normal in a second with no treatment. I've had tests, and they revealed that my heart is, quote, "absolutely perfect". I have neck injury, and am now investigating vagus nerve connection that may be the trigger.
Thank you for so much clarity on NSVT. I had my first SVT episode Oct of last year (240bpm). 8 weeks later it happened again and I opted for ablation (SVT free since Jan of this year). roughly 4 weeks ago I started experiencing clusters of palpitations almost ongoing for a week before landing in hospital where they found nothing. I contacted my Electrophysiologist and was fitted with the Zio Patch, I was only able to wear it for 4 days due to an allergic reaction to the adhesive. At my follow up appointment, my nurse took some extra time to show me the VT on my read out. She explained that it was a whole different monster. But when my cardiologist came in he had no concerns about the VT on my print out and said that I was having normal PACs and PVCs. Although he was very reassuring, I was still left confused as to why the nurse made a point to tell me about the VT and dangers of it. It almost made me think she was trying to tell me something she knew he wouldn't. I've been having back to back panic attacks and fear of being alone due to the PACs and PVCs scaring me half to death. This video has helped me very much in understanding that I'm likely ok and need to let go a bit. I do have one question however, can I expect this to get worse with age? Thank you so much for your time and sharing all of these hopeful and helpful videos!
@@YorkCardiology I've been told by my cardiologist the opposite - that couplets, triplets, and NSVT etc. all suggest that there is a propensity for re-entry which significantly increases the risk of VT, VFib and SCD... and should be taken seriously and treated?
I had something like that the emergency doctor told me I might have wpw then got checked out by cardiologist and said everything was fine I get pvc a couple a day
Fantatic and well delivered! Thank you for making yourself available as a resource to help others help others! Certainly helps me feel better during a sleep study for sleep apnea!
Thank you so much for all this great information and I especially enjoyed your video about things that cause irregular beats . You are such a kind teacher. I am a nurse but you have taught me so many things that I have never heard before. So helpful.
Thank you so much for all that you do. You are soooo knowledgeable AND comforting. I am a 50 yr old female and recently wore a 2 wk zio heart monitor for palpitations. They called saying that in 2 wks it showed 3 runs of SVT with the worst being a 6 beat run that went up to 191 HR and told me that I could go on metoprolol if I wanted to maybe lessen palps or make them to where I might not feel them. I do have family hx, but not of sudden cardiac death of someone 40 or under. My dad had a heart attack at age 46 and passed away of a 2nd one at age 57. My anxiety about my heart is CONSTANT, especially now that I am having palpitations and ESPECIALLY NOW after hearing that I had 3 runs of SVT (they didn’t specify if NSVT but I guess so since it only got up to 6 beats). I will be having an echo and a coronary calcium score on Jan 10th. If the calcium score shows significant build up he said he’lll want me to do a stress test. I think I want to ask for a stress test anyway, regardless of the scoring results. Thank you again. I have watched so many of your videos and you calm me down and help me to think rationally again.
🤔I wish we could clone this doctor and have him across the world to help people that have heart conditions/concerns. ♥️🤣🤣 I've been to several cardiologist and he's explain things better in one short video than they have combined! 😢 That being said,. I hope anyone reading this message has all the best of luck. And remember that you are NOT ALONE! 🤗
thank you doc for this video, it's so reassuring comparing to what one can sometimes read on the internet...I've been experiencing lately what felt like complex PVC or maybe NSVT and I can tell it scared me to death. I wish I saw your video sooner !
Thanks doctor this relieved my Stress. I didnt sleep for nights. But they way you explain is much appreciated. I walk whole day at work but sometimes i get ectopics when i am stressed or excited. This makes me worry in Going to NSVT. but the beats you explained are very different from the beats i am getting. Thank you doctor. God bless you.
Thank you! I was just informed I have ventricular tachycardia. I go in Monday to discuss with cardiologist. Based on your video I'm thinking it's non-sustained ventricular tachycardia. Guess I'll find out soon. Thanks again for the information!!
Thanks so much for this knowledgeable video it eased my concerns. I am 48 yrs old and just had a stress test today they mentioned VT but it was just a blip . I was told I have to go back for a 4 hour test. I have had Atrilfib twice and I also have MVP. it's scary cause I am athletic and I have a 9 yr old son . I would like to be around to see my son grow into a young man. Your video helped ease my anxiety. Thank You
Dr. Sir although I m a layman, I m sincerely listening to your valuable videos which contains vital information on heart related symptoms and your sincere advice on these symptoms thanks by heart and good wishes for such a good work being done by you inspire of your busy schedule as a cardiologist
hey doctor sanjay, thank you so much for this video, I was looking to know about this. and it was very well explained. your videos are definitely one of a kind well Don! and good luck! with everything you do. God bless you! ps. I'll most dfinietly share it.☺
I am 70. I am in heart failure. I had 18 episodes of V tach. . Luckily I was in the hospital. My symptoms were drowsiness and feeling weak. I am home now with medications.
Thank you very much for posting this video. I am a very active young man who gets random bursts of alarmingly high heart rate after heavy and sudden exercise. This happens somewhat rarely (probably once every month or two) and Ive never timed it but seems to last about half a minute or so. Sometimes they seems to go on for a little longer (maybe a minute or so) and I start to get light headed almost like I'm hyperventilating but it makes me wonder if its due to panicking following the episode as it is fairly alarming. It is nice to find information on this and hopefully will help me reduce the anxiety invloved with attacks in the future
Thank you very much for this video! It's very informative! :) I am still wondering how high the risk is to get from a NSVT to a SVT? Are there any numbers on the risk available?
I knew it: of course iron affects electrical conductance of the heart. It's iron after all. Iron Overload Decreases CaV1.3-Dependent L-Type Ca2+ Currents Leading to Bradycardia, Altered Electrical Conduction, and Atrial Fibrillation, 2011 So this is my theory: I have this mode where the atrium acts as a little turbo on top of the ventricular contraction, not instead of. This requires good coordination of the two pulses. If there was too much iron, it would mess it up and combine the two, ie atrial fib. But since I've been iron chelating for a while, I don't have that problem. This has to be the design of the mode where the atrium is pulsing at high frequency. Not afib. It increases blood flow and feels great. It only lasts for a minute cause contrary to the ventricle, the atrium is a much smaller muscle and gets tired. But it's good for little spurts. Anyhow that's my working theory and why cardiologists have apparently never seen this, cause almost everyone has too much iron which has been my contention. Anyhow of course evolutionarily the heart carried on and afib is not a serious condition. But I think if you have afib you have waaaay too much iron 3:20 VT is a very regular pumping action. It can be reduced blood flow, but in a stable manner. So it can make you tired, but it's not going to progressively get worse, it really cannot given the fixed heart rate. The heart always gets the oxygen. Only if you have cvd, ie clogged coronary arteries, could vt be a prelude. The 4% of normal people having exercise induced nsvt but not higher mortality, the key there is, the paper says this after adjustment for risk factors. So exercise induced means you may have risk factors, eg cvd, but you can check for those.
I'm not really worried about my heart just really interested in the fascinating organ especially it's electrical system! I can't wait to get a used patient monitor and see my own ECG!
I seem to be having tachycardia that I notice on the regular now before I go to sleep. It used to be the thuds and feeling like my heart was going to jump out of my chest; by comparison, the tachycardia is way easier to miss. Wore the holter monitor two weeks ago for 48 hours; up to that point, I'd noticed no tachycardia. First time I did notice it was the night before I got the report. (So, the report did NOT give me the idea, make me start looking for it.) Monitor said 17 episodes of either VT or SVT, none longer than ten seconds, no more than 7 beats, HR 140 at max. But the last two nights, I've counted several multiples of 10 at once. (Counted 80 total the first night.) If I wasn't being quiet, I wouldn't notice them, and as they stop abruptly and my heart goes back to whatever "normal" is, I'm not worried. Non-cardiologist doctor said my 29% PVC burden was of no concern, so...I guess it's no concern. I am getting older, (63, have been a runner, can't run any more (brutal osteoporosis, fractured T8 on a run,) but still try to get a brisk as possible walk in with weighted vest and trekking poles, so I think my heart is still in decent condition,) maybe this is just what old hearts do? But, you can kind of understand why a person might feel concerned. Getting old isn't for sissies.
Yes, I am very excited because Dr. Gupta is an awesome person and his expertise is so great! Hard to find someone with both of those things in one package!
I had been diagnosed with inappropriate sinus tachycardia...Ur words are really comforting ND reassuring...for me nd many anxious patients...I'm llnd proff mbbs student ...ND i wish that I could meet u ...sir...in my future career as cardiologist
It is reassuring because I suspect I may have non sustained ventricular tachycardia there are times during or after exercise that I experience some dizziness followed by a brief tachycardia of anywhere from 160 to 215 beats per minute and I do get PVCs some times two in one minute but my heart is structurally normal
three skipped heart beats in a row are extra beats so 3 extra heart beats plus ur heart rate how can it be over 120 heart beats a min? reg heart rate 70 plus 3 extra heart beats total of 73 beats per min where does over 120 hbpm come from? i dont under stand
Hi. This is my experience: I am 50, overweight, but eat well with many veggies and fruits. I am under high stress because of a long-time disease of a family member. No risk factors as in the video. Former smoker. No alcohol. No drugs except for some nail topical cream. I had two medical grade Holter devices (12 and 5 lead) within 24 and 48 hours. Echo of the heart and carotid, blood tests, many X-rays of the heart, and quite a few cardiologist visits. The results are: good heart, grade 1 hypertension, some bradycardia at rest (55 beats per minute) all was fine. Good heart. I have about 5 NSVT episodes per week, mostly when I am bloated and hunched over on a chair. Never when making an effort. I also had some PAC and PVC, single and sometimes in couplets. The NSVT beats are 3 beats in a row and only one time it was 5 beats in a row. They appear on medical Holter as on my 1 lead wearable Holter. I also feel when I have an NSVT episode it feels like a rattle in my lower chest near the stomach. My doctors say I am fine just need to lose weight and exercise more. I am always concerned about how my heart works. I love your videos, Mr. Gupta. I am also thinking of Heliobacter Pylori and some other gastric causes because they look related.
Thank you for these videos. I appreciate the time you put in. What about consecutive short runs of VTAC, such as 10 second runs of 200BPM every minute for an hour in someone with a healthy heart? I was diagnosed with benign NSVT about a month ago. About a week ago, I experienced 5-10 second runs of VTAC that made me feel close to passing out. While I rarely have more than 2/day, this time I had 20 in an hour and required an IV of amiodarone in the ER to get me out of it. I've read conflicting comments about whether this can degrade into sustained vtach or vfib.
Could you clarify - do both consecutive ectopics and tachycardia (less than 30 seconds) have to exist for the event to be considered NSVT? In other words, I have runs (consecutive ectopic) a few times a month, but my heart rate doesn't escalate, certainly not above 120.
Has to be 3 ventricular ectopic beats in a row, those 3 beats have to be at 120 beats per minute. That’s the minimum requirement for classifying NSVT. If those 2 things don’t happen, it’s not NSVT, it’s just PVCs, almost everyone throws off some PVCs from time to time. It’s only when you’re having say 20,000 or 30,000 per day, that would cause any concern. Although they are very scary, I have ectopics, I also have a horrible anxiety issue. It’s a vicious cycle.
Firstly thank you for such kind and useful videos. I am sharing. One question what is atrial tachycardia and how is it different from ventricular tachycardia
Sinus arrythmia is a normal occurrence in health individuals, it's just means your heart rate increases with an in breath and decreases when you breathe out. Sounds like a normal trace.
I had an episode of 12 pvcs in a row during my 48h holter monitor, hence, NSVT. I didnt feel these and I was sleeping when it happened. However, that caused me huge anxiety since I read that more than 3 in a row can be more dangerous. Now I suffer from anxiety and insomnia because of that and every night my anxiety causes me pvcs, fainting feelings and chest pain which again trigger panic attacks... My cardiologist didnt really tell much since my echo was normal which just left me with more "???". Now I am here....
My life spoiled because of ektopic beats and anxity this fools docters in India give me a lot of medicines but after seeing your veedio my ectopic beats not affected me now now days one or two ectopic beats a day or while doing hard HIIT training like mountain running i dont care it now days and iam not panik about that thank yo docter
So if a young person is otherwise healthy and just having a 3-4 beat run of pvcs you wouldn't treat them or even run more tests? That's really reassuring. I've been having one or two 3-4 beat runs of pvcs almost every day and can't help but be worried about it. Single beat pvcs are one thing to deal with but the short runs of them are scary.
Hey world! Thought I’d share w everyone, I had a holter monitor on for 3 days, and I’m supposed to tap a button whenever I felt something was off, in the span of 3 days I clicked it 39 times and throughout the 3 days my doctor and examiners seen 1 NVST, they’re recommending me to a cardiologist this Friday, I highly recommend to not worry about it, don’t overthink anything, it will just make the impending doom worse ❤
@@gam1ngexpert706 doing great had a 30 day holter monitor on, whenever I’d feel a little pain I would click the button, they examined everything and said there wasn’t any irregular beats that everything I was feeling was normal and nothing concerning, really it’s all a mindset thing just try and calm your nerves down and your anxiety, tell yourself it will be okay, practice box breathing:)
My cardiologist won't listen to me that my dad dropped dead at 31. Im having non sustained vtach at night and I occasionally have extremely fast on occasions. (Sustained?) Why aren't these drs listening to me!!!!???? I'm scared!
I have NSVT! I feel so alone. I'm starting to make RUclips video for those in my situation so they don't feel so alone. Anyone making videos about it as well?
@@borgir8889 how they determined I had that is by doing an ekg. I complaint about lots of "palpitations/skip beat" feeling. They said it was a PVC that caused it and I guess by whatever area of the heart it came from they said it was the lower part and idk, guess they put two and two together. Not sure. To me personally feels like my heart is skipping beats or palpitations. Like flutters. It's random. But I do have "episodes" in which case I get really sick. I get palpitations, dizziness, could faint, fatigue, shortness of breath, super high blood pressure and randomly goes very low. I shake, sweat, I'm nauseous, sometimes vomit..that I can remember that's what I feel

@@borgir8889 oh no. You should always get checked out. Whenever you feel something is not right. You know your body more than anyone. Also, if you don't have the ability to see a doc. You could possibly (if you are able) get the Kardia mobile. It's a portable ekg. You can record it when it's happening. Records for 60 seconds at a time. You could send the recording to your doctor via email. Or you could pay the app's doctor to review your ekg. They will be able to detect anomalies. Confirm or deny any diagnosis. Just an option. Of course I would recommend for you to call your doctor as soon as you feel off. Even go to the ER if you can. But always talk to ur doctor before doing anything. The Kardia app has truly helped me many times. Don't hesitate to ask me any questions. I'm no doctor and don't give medical advice I am just a patient trying to help out
After suffering a run over around 30 fast beats for about 15 seconds went crazy looking for an answer. Thank you again for your comforting words. I would also like to ask you for a favor.I have come upon the words repetitive monomorphic ventricular tachycardia and found out it is related to an irregular flow of ions to the heart muscles, rather than an electric sidepath, also more related to women, severe stress periods and exercise...basically when adrenaline levels are elevated. What is the relationship btw this and PVCs?
Hello DR, i’ve Been diagnosed with a frequent PVC’s and NSVT, in the emergency room, but I couldn’t see a cardiologist yet , they gave me tartrate 25 MG twice a day, my pulse was going down I used the Medicine for 1 day and stopped, waiting to see the cardiologist i’m so worried about what will happen to the heart. Can you help me please, thank you for all you videos, I can only thank you by praying for you..
This is helpful. I have some readings consistent with NSVTs on my Apple Watch and am waiting for my doctor to get back to me. But I’m wondering if NSVTs are VTs are similar enough that if I get the first is it because of a problem that will eventually produce the latter.
I have NSVT immediately following exercise. My runs are a bit longer 25-30 beats. Structurally normal heart. Still nothing to worry about? I’ve seen several EPs. About half want to prescribe meds (betas or anti arrythmics) and the other half say I’m good to live my life without anything.
Well explained sir, my question is I had VT in 2014 and on regular occasion it's continued. To adress this I have implanted AICD after 2015 I never had any episode Does it mean it will not occur in future. I don't smoke drink or consume non veg
great video!! I have been learning about the 'vulnerable period' and read that if a a PVC happens on the T wave it can cause the heart to go into ventricular fibrillation! Could a random PVC happen on a T wave in a normal heart if not what stops it from happening?
Yes it can happen and if it does depends on the QT interval. So if the QT interval is prolonged it's more likely to happen to you. Its extremely unlikely to happen from just one ectopic

Thank you so much for this video. I noticed on my holter monitor report that I had around 500 PVC triplets in a span of seven days. I heard you say 3 or more PVCs in a row, over 100 bpm and less than 30 seconds is NSVT, but what if the bpm is lower than 100? Is it still considered NSVT, as most of my PVCs seem to happen under 100 bpm. Is that more or less dangerous, or is it still considered NSVT. I’m having trouble finding the answer to this online. Thank you so much!
i got a loop recorder and they caught 2 episodes of this nsvt. So my question is the first 1 they said it was faster but less pvc. However the one i had yesterday was more beats i believe they said 10 - 12 pvc in row. Normal echo, i take corlanor 2x 5mg. Is this still normal/safe? They said its of concern but not dangerous as of now. No history that i know of people before 40 years of age with sudden death Edit: i saw entire video i guess i got my answer and i apologize, i guess im still worry because it was mmore than 10 beats and in the past it was usually 3 or 4.
I did have 3 beats NSVT, I have symtoms and I saw it on ekg. I have stay up, been awake, it is 4 am and I haven't been sleeping because I have been so afraid that 3 beats NSVT means that I can be suddenly death or heart to go ven.fibralation. This video was so important and calming. Thank you SO much. I don't know do you answer these old videos anymore, but if you do, what is strong heart? I mean what is enoug EF? I have 48% because I have LBBB, but they didn't found any reason for it on MRI or ECHO. Because LBBB, EF is lower than normal. 48%. Is it enough if I got these NSVT?
Hello Sir i want to ask to please give us your best suggestion for my mom..my mother is a diabetic patient but all reports are normal like pp 159,fasting sugar 84,kft are normal lft are normal and urine and culture are normal ..but in echo reports the heart Left ventricular Ejection fraction 35 to 40% ..and she have nothing problem right now and blood pressure are 80/140..so please tell me what we do...
Steven Kroll I have to agree; I’m still scratching my head over this one! I believe I had a run of about 20 beats in 7 seconds, so as you said is it dangerous because of the amount of beats or not dangerous because of the time duration......
@@tachygirl7225 I think it's ok as long as it doesnt go too long. My cardiologist said if it doesnt stop within 5 minutes then go to the ER. She said try using the maneuvers but if they dont work then go get it checked out.
Steven K. 5 minutes!! I think I would be in utter panic if it went over 30 seconds!! 7 seconds felt like eternity... But it’s a shame I came away from watching this just as confused, Gah, off to research some clarification :)
I couldn't have said it better fair_shares! I'm so thankful for the doctor and his generosity!
Thank you so very much:-) Your kind words make it all worthwhile. thank you!

Thank you Farrah, for your saying about this Doctor, cause I, felt the same way after listening to his great video of medical advice I, to thank the Doctor, so Very much 💝
My Zio founds 3 NSVTs over 2 weeks and I'm having a panic attack since finding out. Thank you Dr Gupta for helping me calm down.
Hello!im facing the same but did not catch on holter. Ru taking any meducine

No other risk factors and other healthy, so I'm hoping this is nothing to worry about
It’s a year later now, you still kickin?
Beautifully explained. Thank you. You've helped my anxiety already!

Nsvt life treating ?
It’s ruining my life
I feel the same way! The doctors just shoo me away.
@@chalottacox5898I feel the same. I have panic attacks because of this.
@jane6261 how are you doing?
Well said. I’ve felt the same and I’m sorry for this that you are going through. How are doing?

You explain things very well. And I can tell you know what you're talking about young man. I'm not a doctor but I do know a bit about this.A lot of doctors never talk and say enough. Listening to you was a big relief in my mind and I'm sure a lot of others too.
Thank you for explaining everything in a way that we can understand and for putting my mind and anxiety to rest! You are amazing!
I have learned a lot about the heart from you. thanks for all your videos.
Do you get pvs regular??

Thank you so much for all this great information and I especially enjoyed your video about things that cause irregular beats . You are such a kind teacher. I am a nurse but you have taught me so many things that I have never heard before. So helpful.
You’re so calm and warm nice

It is nice to find information on this and hopefully will help me reduce the anxiety invloved with attacks in the future
thanks you!
How are you doing?
I keep watching but I still get scared wish I could stop thinking
Thank you so much. You are truly a blessing ❤️
Thank you very much for this video! It's very informative! :) I am still wondering how high the risk is to get from a NSVT to a SVT? Are there any numbers on the risk available?
I knew it: of course iron affects electrical conductance of the heart. It's iron after all.
Iron Overload Decreases CaV1.3-Dependent L-Type Ca2+ Currents Leading to Bradycardia, Altered Electrical Conduction, and Atrial Fibrillation, 2011
So this is my theory: I have this mode where the atrium acts as a little turbo on top of the ventricular contraction, not instead of. But I think if you have afib you have waaaay too much iron
3:20 VT is a very regular pumping action.
I like you Dr. with such a outstanding presentatiion on V. Tach.
I'm not really worried about my heart just really interested in the fascinating organ especially it's electrical system! I can't wait to get a used patient monitor and see my own ECG!
thanks knuckles!
Very informative!

It is reassuring because I suspect I may have non sustained ventricular tachycardia there are times during or after exercise that I experience some dizziness followed by a brief tachycardia of anywhere from 160 to 215 beats per minute and I do get PVCs some times two in one minute but my heart is structurally normal

How does it feel like? Like flutterin
Any updates?
Could you clarify - do both consecutive ectopics and tachycardia (less than 30 seconds) have to exist for the event to be considered NSVT?
In other words, I have runs (consecutive ectopic) a few times a month, but my heart rate doesn't escalate, certainly not above 120.
please clarify, i've had runs twice in the last month suddenly at rest and heart rate was normal
Does your heart speed up after ? Do you get scared?
I have the same questions
Has to be 3 ventricular ectopic beats in a row, those 3 beats have to be at 120 beats per minute. That’s the minimum requirement for classifying NSVT. If those 2 things don’t happen, it’s not NSVT, it’s just PVCs, almost everyone throws off some PVCs from time to time. It’s only when you’re having say 20,000 or 30,000 per day, that would cause any concern. Although they are very scary, I have ectopics, I also have a horrible anxiety issue. It’s a vicious cycle.
Nathan H so how do you deal with them? Do you get way more when you get super anxious say social anxiety?
Firstly thank you for such kind and useful videos. I am sharing. One question what is atrial tachycardia and how is it different from ventricular tachycardia
Just had Sinus tachycardia with sinus arrhythmia, RBBB, and inferior ST-T abnormality nonspecific. Lasted 10 minutes.
Haven't seen cardiologist yet.
Now I am here....
what ended up happening?
i had 8 in a row at cardiac rehab.
i don’t know the results of my holter monitor for another 30 days.
i get the anxiety
My life spoiled because of ektopic beats and anxity this fools docters in India give me a lot of medicines but after seeing your veedio my ectopic beats not affected me now now days one or two ectopic beats a day or while doing hard HIIT training like mountain running i dont care it now days and iam not panik about that thank yo docter
How are you feeling now
Just had my first triplet.....
What's the difference from that and normal pvcs
So if a young person is otherwise healthy and just having a 3-4 beat run of pvcs you wouldn't treat them or even run more tests? That's really reassuring. I've been having one or two 3-4 beat runs of pvcs almost every day and can't help but be worried about it. Single beat pvcs are one thing to deal with but the short runs of them are scary.
Actually u can feel if it is atrial or not. Atrial does not have compensatory pause after, correct?
Thank you doctor!

Would you be able to do a video on Fascicular VT and the fact it is often misdiagnosed as SVT with abherrancy and is usually a benign VT please?
3% is a low number of normal hearts, is it not more likely that those people just have an undiagnosed issue?

After suffering a run over around 30 fast beats for about 15 seconds went crazy looking for an answer. Thank you again for your comforting words. I would also like to ask you for a favor.I have come upon the words repetitive monomorphic ventricular tachycardia and found out it is related to an irregular flow of ions to the heart muscles, rather than an electric sidepath, also more related to women, severe stress periods and exercise...basically when adrenaline levels are elevated. Well explained sir, my question is I had VT in 2014 and on regular occasion it's continued. To adress this I have implanted AICD after 2015 I never had any episode
Does it mean it will not occur in future. I don't smoke drink or consume non veg
Thanks for sharing.
great video!!
My home measurement showed V tach and V fib, Should I be concerned that I really have it?
Could you please make a video on pre-workout supplement? Many people have gotten palpitations beacuse of it.
Your oppinion would be fantastic :)
I had a MI 90% occlusion of the RCA, 3hrs until revacularsation speculation of tissue damage affecting 30% of my heart I arrested 2 times during the event requiring CPR to include shock, angiogram show 50%narrowing in the left circamflex and sluggish flow in the LAD but could not see any disease there I now stable angina every predictable with stress physical of mental I have a 20 year history of variant angina both controlled early with nitro. I can not tolerate state's sever phisical and cognitive reaction immediately I am on relative. My questions are is there anything I can do for the inflammation controlled in place of the station and prevent a VA event I have seen only 18% survival rate at 7 years with my history called the perfect storm. Thank you
So is a run of pvcs like 5 consider nsvt at a normal rate less than 100 bpm
No. The minimum requirements are 3 or more PVCs at a rate of 120bpm or higher. 100bpm or less would not signify tachycardia, only regular PVCs.
@@MyLadyToria really this is true?? I'm feeling calm and relax now bcz i suffered 3 consecutive beats in a row but under 100bpm
@@princesingh4434 I have them like that frequently. I promise you are ok :)
@@MyLadyToria ohkk but this lead to huge anxiety and fear of dying 😣
@@princesingh4434 just remember that a lot of the population has this. If it were that deadly, people would be dropping like flies all around you. It’s just a very uncomfortable feeling, not deadly
Should I be concerned if the nsvt is causing chest pain? Going to see cardiologist soon assuming for an echo and cardiac assessment. Recently started on ace inhibitors for htn
Thank you so much!
hey Ashley as i know if triplet occurs under 100 heart rate, it is not considered as NSVT and also it is definitely less dangerous than NSVT
It won't be tachycardia in any way if it isn't above 100 bpm that's the point
Same doubt plz solve anyone 😭
Dear Dr Gupta,
Would you recommend angiogram for the patient with exercise induced NSVT?
Thanks.
i got a loop recorder and they caught 2 episodes of this nsvt.
With the new pacemaker that are installed in the heart cause Nsvt?
What if you have left axis deviation and nsvt ?
Good video thankyou
You da man Doctor
Hello Sir i want to ask to please give us your best suggestion for my mom..my mother is a diabetic patient but all reports are normal like pp 159,fasting sugar 84,kft are normal lft are normal and urine and culture are normal ..but in echo reports the heart Left ventricular Ejection fraction 35 to 40% ..and she have nothing problem right now and blood pressure are 80/140..so please tell me what we do...
I have NSVT
This is not true. Nsvt
But it’s a shame I came away from watching this just as confused,
Gah, off to research some clarification
:)
You describe vt with one ecopic beat following a fast heart rate
