Even if I was not a woodcarver I would still enjoy watching every video you do. Doug you have inspired so many people. You are a great teacher and a blessing to woodcarvers from all around.
Seconded
@@FoxChapelVideoswow, even fox chapel is here. I also love watching Chris Lubkemann, got one of his books also. Doug is a national treasure for sure.
I enjoy watching the videos. And because I keep watching them my wife got me a whittling set for Christmas. Excited to get started
I cant tell you how long I've searched for a decent raccoon video...thank you for finally giving me one
I really like the little critters. I really love and appreciate how you show close ups of how you hold the knife when making swooping cuts
Loving the new series Doug. I have only been carving for a 5 months, but I had gotten into the mindset that every carving had to be bigger and more detailed than the last. You really inspired me to go back to 1x1 and I can honestly say that I am enjoying it so much more. Thanks for everything, Gregory.
What better way to start my Sunday morning. I wake up to see you’ve uploaded during the night (I’m in the UK) put some coffee on & get set up ready to have a go at this. Love that you’re planning up to 25 videos in this series. Absolutely love your channel.
Great video Doug💚🇬🇧🌱 love that you had a woodpecker doing a spot of whittling in the background. These guys will be popular with Marvel fans as Groot's best friend is a raccoon called rocket...💚🇬🇧🌱
Just my two cents, LOVE THE 1X1!!! PLEASE KEEP EM COMIN!!
Following this series is great I’m creating plenty of little carvings for my Granddaughter to paint when she visits and she loves it 🙏
Gooood afternoon from central Florida! Hope everyone has a great afternoon!
38:45 looks like the old Doug is back (mellow) . Nice to see you more relaxed! Great video thanks for all you do for the carving community!
Fantastic little guy, with so many variations of outfits. Thanks for the video Doug.
Another nice little project. I like the idea of mixing stuff up a bit and I certainly like the idea of making about 25 little characters! 🙂
I wish I had 1/1000 of the skill you have. Your channel is my favorite for carving/whittling tutorials. I can't thank you enough for sharing your gift. Cheers!
It’s great to see you carving back in the bush! I’m really enjoying these 1x1 series of videos. The eye technique is excellent! What a cute little carve! 🦝
It’s the effort, the intro and quality. Always well lit. Some humour mixed in. It just results is a damn fun video. Thanks Doug.
Thanks again Doug, I am slowly getting addicted to these fun projects.😊
Really liked this one. My favorite of the 1 X 1 so far. I did realize when you were working on the nose, and you turned it sideways it looked like Huckleberry Hound. Maybe just me, but I always liked Huckleberry. I went out on my place yesterday and just sat and enjoyed it, should have taken my carving knife. Thanks for the carving and instruction. Keep up the good work.
Very creative, Doug! Love the bandit and jail theme with the raccoon carving. Enjoyed watching your techniques on the eyes.
Happy Spring ! I really enjoy watching and listening to all your videos. You have the heart of a teacher and I am grateful for that. I think your 1x1 series is brilliant. Thank you sir.
Thanks Doug!! You always make it look easy but it’s magical how they come alive!🐾 So cute🥰
You the man thanks for taking time to teach a upcoming whittler
Another excellent presentation and subject Doug. Thanks a million. 👍
I can’t believe how addicting this little 1x1 series is!
All of you selections are so well explained and you always keep your carving adventures fun.
Thank you so much.
Thanks for the tutorial Doug!🙏 I had to give it a try right away. Very cute!
Love the raccoon, Doug! He’s a keeper.
I joined your channel only yesterday. You are becoming apparent to me. I see vibes/auras in folks. Your is clear and warm. Everyone can have varying emotions and characteristics, but most folks have a consistency in their patterns and give them out. You are also a funny guy with a healthy mentality. I like how you carve nature within nature surrounded by the plants, animals and sky of nature. I like how the sun bothers you as if saying "I'm just looking down and adjusting my vision".
I know I'll enjoy the creations, stories and creatures of you imagination. 😊
Thanks so much Doug! I love this series! Something I very much look forward to each (week?). Definitely up for having as much variety on these as you indicated (25 or so of these things by the time we're through). Sign me up, I'll be there every time. Thank you! (and yes, I fast forwarded to the end before watching the whole thing. Beauty of this format, I want to see the end before going back to carve along.😄)
Thank you for great video. Love the 1x1 series. You the man Doug.
Lovin these Doug. Great fun. Cheers
So cute! I loved seeing all the little variations you did. Thank you so much for all your videos.
Great little bandit critter! I love your whittling series. And .... I don't know if it was your chill mood or not but that was a really relaxing and enjoyable video (they are all great but for me this one was just moreso) - thank you!
Geniales sus trabajos felicitaciones
Thanks for the 1 X 1 video. It's as close to "a coffee and a carve" as you can get. Appreciate them, as did the woodpecker I heard in the background. Thanks again!!
Thanks!
Me gusta mucho esta serie de vídeos, enhorabuena y gracias. Un saludo.
Lovely Doug thanks
Really good Doug thanks for showing us ,isent it so relaxing to hear the birds chirping in the back ground we couldn't imagine a world with no birds to sing it really adds to the whole woodland experience , Take care watch them digits lol Ant from Wales UK .
You give us so many good ideas!! And your lil laugh I like that too bc you are alone but you know ppl will see this at some point I think that is what makes chuckle. Anyway that's for all that you do. You say it is the beginning of spring, today is Oct. 10,2023 the beginning of autumn/ winter. It's all good.
Wow ! You shaved
The raccoons are just too stinkin cute ! I love the prison clothes idea !
You are just so talented!!!
Great fun!!! Thank you as always!!!
Best from Wasaga Beach ⛱️
Love it thank you! Waiting for the next woodcarving illustrated. I really like the one inch stuff but Iv carved all your stuff. Just fun
Thanks Doug
Really finding this series a lot of fun, great ideas, , I'm definitely missing the beard 😂
Love following along with these tutorials. The owl is my current obsession 😂 Have you ever done a "mother earth" carving project? I would LOVE to see a gaia/mother earth inspired whittling project from you, in the same vein as your little forest spirits that look so seamless on a tree or stick. Good vibes, and I hope you enjoy your summer! ☀️ ❤
Another great video. Thanks & keep them coming
That was cool, thanks again Doug ! 👍
Love him!! Now I’m gonna have to whittle a new little Linker dude without a beard! Love the outdoor carving, great video!

Loving this series Doug. Would you consider doing some Aussie animals like a Koala or platypus by any chance. Cheers Allison 😊
I was a little late to the party by a few ays on this one but really enjoyed it. I made a few mistakes but learned how not to make them again next time. I managed to recover. Paint will make all the difference.
You are a good instructor.
Great video.
Thanks for the fun.
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us. I do volunteer raccoon & Wildlife rehab. I am an artist & have been looking for tutorials on carving raccoons. This video is right on time. I will definitely watch the series!
love your videos. i could watch you carve anything.
Very cute little bandits Doug I only wish I had more time to carve life has become so dang busy I need to take some time off and get back to carving. You always inspire me 👏👏 I want to thank you for all the time you give us from your busy life. Even when I can’t carve I really appreciate and enjoy your videos.
My favorite to carve so far is the dowel lighthouse.
LOVE THIS!!!!! Wondering if you can do some mousers, perhaps with leather strip tails.....Thank you kindly Doug, you are my Hero 😇
Thanks AGAIN
Once you mentioned that you looked at your RUclips analytics and saw that people click off of your video early. Therefore you try to get through the carvings quickly.
But for those of us that wish to follow along it’s quite hard when you move so fast, and you move the wood around so much.
After each important section you should hold it to the camera so people can see what you have done.
Loving the 1x1 series! Plus I have to say you are an inspiration to me to carve. You are so soft spoken and seem to always pull me into what ever you decide to carve. I do have to ask and am sure lots of us have asked this. Have you ever thought of doing a book or two on your carvings? I can tell you that I would buy any and all of them that you felt to do. Please as a person getting back into and serious about it consider doing so. Love the channel and all the projects.
Raccoons and otters are so cool.❤
Terrific series, thanks Doug
Hey Doug... Another awesome video bud! Excellent series for some very fun carves. Just trimmed my beard down too, but I left about a half inch or so because I hate shaving.
I realize the beard gets hot during spring and summer and I use to shave my beard in the spring. Now I keep my beard year round just a little shorter in hot weather. I like your teaching style I am just beginning to carve. Keep bringing the lessons please.
Absolutely perfect. Great outdoors
Another great video Thank You Doug, Thank You

p.s. like this new look....... takes 10 years off. LOL 🏴
I was back and forth about redoing the dowel series. But after you said you were going to mix it in with new ideas I think it would be good. Thank you for doing this series! It has been a fun change of pace. I was always making little gnomes (dywoodcarving’s pattern from WCI on the go. Now I have lots of new patterns!)
Love it
Trying one of these out tomorrow morning!
Great video. Love the 1×1 series. Miss the firing up of the twig stove. Future projects: Mike Shipely style hillbilly bear with overalls. A mountain man with coonskin cap. Fisherman with yellow hat and raincoat. Carving a blank the long way, making an alligator. A robot. Fred Flintstone.
amazing and very enjoyable to watch ...
Very nice, thank you. My next project.
