- 👉 Learn how to find the value that makes a function continuos. A function is said to be continous if two conditions are met. They are: the limit of the function exist and that the value of the function at the point of continuity is defined and is equal to the limit of the function.
To find the value that makes a function continous we evaluate the right limit, the left limit and the value of the function at the point of discontinuity and then equate the values. We then solve any resulting equation to obtain the desired value that makes the function continuos.

it's literally 20 minutes from my ap calc test bless your soul for having the youtube-panic-search titles and then explaining it in the simplest way known to mankind
Thanks
Brian M, thank you so much for taking your time out and posting videos like these. I was struggling with my homework problem like this and you explained it very well! Once again thank you so much!
you are very welcome! happy to be able to help you out!
Spent an hour on a hw problem and finally figured it out after you're incredible explanation. Thank you so much!
This is the exact problem that I was struggling with doing my homework. Thank you!
you are very welcome! happy to help
I am watching this after 7 years and I’ve watched a couple of your other videos and I appreciate you dearly for uploading them!!! They have helped me a ton!
I know this was posted about 3 years ago, but THANK YOU! You are gonna be the reason I am able to get my degree haha

RIP Edward, but good job

This is a awesome video, I had a calculus professor that explained this and he was great! but it didn’t click with me until now. Everyone hated piecewise functions in that class including myself, but looking at it now it’s a pretty simple concept. Thanks for explaining,
college student here struggling w calc. I just realized what I did wrong on my quiz lol, but thank you! I would’ve been lost had these videos never been here.
Shean here, Brian that explanation was PERFECT! Thanks. I just shared that with one of my students.
You are an amazing man! You've taught so many students and explained so many concepts! Keep doing what you are doing and inspiring others!
First i th8 i am poor at mathematics .
But now u r changing my mind.
Good work!
Stop randomly calling on kids. However, thank you for helping me.
ok, you are very welcome
Watching this 2020, thank you very much!
wow thank you your explanation makes everything so clear
I haven’t paid this guy a cent but he’s still far and away better than my tuition paid college professor
Thank you Mr. McLogan. My teacher never went over this for HW.
you are very welcome!
Mr mclogan comes to the rescue again
You're best teacher sir😊
It's my pleasure
UR A LEGEND!!!!! KEEP DOING WOT UR DOING!!!!!
Thanks, this really helped me.
you are very welcome!
wish i wouldve watched this before my exam but at least now i know how to solve it with two variables
you are a wonderful math teacher, Thankyou!
Seriously, thank you so much! I was sooooo confused on how to workout problems like this and you helped me understand!
awesome! keep up the hard work
I was confused on how to do these types of problems. Thanks for clearing it up!!! :D
you are very welcome!
@@brianmclogan Can’t you just take the equation of the line that passes through (-1,2) and (3,-2) and you get y=1-x without doing all the limits and stuff
Thank you this helped a lot
So clear and detailed! Thanks
you are very welcome!
Hello Brian,
Thank you so very much for these videos, they are a lifesaver. Can you please post a video about Theorem 1 for Continuous Functions?
Also, this particular video has a very low volume.
the hero we need
thank you for your help!
you are very welcome Aniruthan!
Man I love you
thank you Sir #Respect
cheers!
appreciate it teach
THANK YOU SO MUCH
you are very welcome!
thanks
you are very welcome!
This is going to sound really stupid so I’m apologizing in advance… how did you choose to plug 2 into the X is less than or equal to -1? The way my mind is understands it is I need to plug in something that is approaching -1 from the left for it to fit in the X is less than or equal to -1
This helped me soooo much, thank you! :)
hi thank you! this video help for a similar problem, but im still stuck on another that is similar. can you please help on it? its almost the same but instead its f(x)={ tan(pix/4), lxl
sorry I am only able to focus on what I am currently teaching
Very clear and good explanation; but please verify that mistake a=2 and b=4... Thank You...
verify which mistake?
There was no mistake
good
there is a mistake
mmmmm.....am sorry my man is right check .check your negations well
Can we get Fs in the chat for edward
I was with you until you started subtracting equations
if you want the function to be continuous you need to set the equations equal to one another
Knowing that you’re going to record prepare in advance instead of showing signs of doubt it looks like you don’t know what you’re doing.
Still lost ....
do you have a question?
Getting bore
sorry
Thank you so much
