I’m will be 70 in a few days. One thing that has helped me tremendously in the last year is Emotional Healing. Giving my negative feelings and/or emotions to God and asking to heal the wounds on my soul. Every time I feel hurt, anger, lost, not enough, I pray for God to take that feeling and to heal me. If I have memories that cause negative emotions or feelings, I ask God to take them and to the wound on my soul. You may have to repeat because different events cause different emotions and feelings. Try it, you might be surprised. Asking God to take negative feelings and emotions and healing me has made such a positive difference in me and in my life 🙏🏻

Not hate. Better to be alone than with anyone that doesn't make you feel deserved. You already belong. If you can, look into volunteering, joining a group (exercise, book, travel, etc) With Zoom all things are possible. Maybe get some counseling.

OMG! I went through a similar thing a few years ago, when I was in the ER for 10 hours because my blood pressure was extremely high. I have a healthy lifestyle practicing yoga and hiking with my dog but you can't escape your genetics. My Mom has an aortic aneurism and so do I. That combined with an extreme amount of stress resulted in my needing open heart surgery. Please pay attention to the signs and take care of yourself. Your children need you.

Mandy, I found you through Frugal Fit Momma. I'm thankful I did. Not only do I find your food videos helpful, but also your health and divorce journey hit home to me. After 38 years of marriage, my husband filed for divorce. To say I was shocked and dumbfounded is an understatement. My health had started to decline a few years back and I was doing everything to get better. After being blindsided, my health took a hard hit. Navigating through this is something I am having difficulty with. I've ended up in the ER more than I want to admit. I can't live up to my own expectations. Anxiety overload! What happened to you, I have been through myself, and it's scary. Thank you for sharing your story.

Hi, Kate from Pittsburgh here! Regarding your scare, it sounds a lot like the panic attack that landed me in the ER on two occasions. Every time, I had been powering through a tough situation where I felt I had no control. Once that situation got better, it was as though my nervous system got a permission to freak out on me! I honestly thought I was having a heart attack, and I'd been in my early 30's-early 40's at the time. Moving on, I'm 58 now and your journey is an inspiration. I had 2 joint replacements in 2023. The hip was a breeze, the ankle is a high-maintenance diva! (Tendons...they need to be babied for a while.) I am looking forward to being able to walk for half an hour in one stretch in two months or so. Meanwhile, it's PT, and taking ice-cold morning dips on the back porch! (I swear it's the best way to wake up, the birds are singing, and I pretend-sing because it's not as alarming to the neighbors as if I shrieked outloud, LOL!) Good luck with the 75 soft, I think you'll do great. Now, my goal is to do a sprint triathlon in August. I can do the swim (700 yards.) I can bike 15 miles, but my ankle will have to get used to the hills some, so that will be a challenge. I plan to walk the run part, 5k. I'm not allowed to run so my new parts don't wear out. Even so, 5km is 3.2 miles and that's a lot to even think about from where I stand. I decided it's okay to quit on the walk part instead of setting my recovery back, or even not attempt the walk part at all. Most of all, I find it empowering to have a goal. If I may share one thing that helps with life and stress in general, it's martial arts. See what schools are out there and what might strike your fancy. I've been at it for decades. My friend from college wants to get her black belt before she turns 60 so she can get her hip done. You're never too old. Like dance or music or theater, it engages the mind and has the body move in new, challenging ways. Just saying, this might be an interesting experiment 💅💪 Keep forging on, and I will too! Sending a virtual hug.

A panic attack will raise your blood pressure. I stopped my Lexapro teo years ago after our son seemed fine from his transplant and thought i got this. I was having anxiety and panic attacks out of nowhere from the worry. Lexapro was wonderful, i took half of the lowest dose and it stopped my anxiety and panic attacks. I did have some side effects starting for about 3-4 days but after that I was fine. We have a business and have been struggling a lot and the anxiety is through the roof. I was sitting for jury duty and out of nowhere a panic attack came on. I thought I was going to have a heart attack and pass out. I told the lady at the desk and was excused. My doctor has put me back on Lexapro. It makes me feel in control. I wish you the best with your health and enjoy your videos.😊

You will not find your Ssnctuary

As a RN I will tell you that the labs they check in the ER are labs to see if you are having an acute, life altering event such as a MI or stroke. Just because they said you are “ok” in the ER, that just means you are not dying at that moment and they feel “ok” to send you home. With your family history, your current level of stress and age, (I’m about your age as well), you need to get a good preventative cardiologist, and ensure that you are in fact OK to start a diet or exercise regimen. I’m sure that you are, but I don’t want you to think that because you were “ok” in the ER that you are truly “ok” if that makes sense. I wish you well and you are on the right path and mindset.
Just get checked out legitimately. Have your LPa checked, get a cardiac calcium scan done and get a good look at your lipids, thyroid and iron and ferritin levels.

When your cortisol is elevated it will slow down your weight loss. I have had good results with a high protein clean keto diet using whole food. Try to stay away from processed foods and seed oils. And walk for exercise. I wish you the best💜🙏🏻

Yep listen to your body. Our body knows what it’s doing which is a magical thing.
This past year my blood pressure was running high which was due to me being over stressed with my second job. My weight gain started a couple years ago. In 2023 I decided to up my water and steps even though my stress levels were high. I went to the doctor in late 23 she wanted me to up my steps and cut back on processed foods. Since November I’ve b been keeping up my steps to more or around 10,000 steps. I go in regularly to my nurse’s office to get my blood pressure checked. The doctor wanted my blood pressure to be normal for my age which is in the 120’s or even lower. Since November my numbers I’ve been in the 120’s. I remember a few times last school year I felt light headed at that time my store had a blood pressure machine to check blood pressure.
One of my coworkers last school year was having chest pains and such for 3 days off and on. The pain would come and go. Then on the 3rd day his wife said we’re going to the emergency room. He was in the emergency room for some time by the time he got called back he was having a heart attack right there in the hospital bed.

My goodness, Mandy, that was a scary experience. I'm glad you're okay now though and I believe you are 100% correct. Anxiety!
Have you considered doing a ketovore way of eating? It's pretty amazing how great you feel once you eliminate sugar, which isn't easy, but doable and worth it! It's not as hard as some try to make it sound and basically you're eating meat and green veggies. That's it. The cost is actually minimal because you save so much by not buying all the junk and processed foods (in the store aisles) and just shop the walls. It's a great way to eat.
My last husband died in 2003 and I quit sugar before that. Now anything sweet makes me gag. It's something to consider if you want to be healthier. And remember, cancer feeds on sugar. Did you know that? Scientists in England found a way to hook up a cancerous tumor to sugar and it grew. Then they took the sugar away and it shrank. This has been many years ago, but it's still a pretty convincing reason to stop. My late husband drank soda all the time. Lots of it. He died of colon cancer.
Sorry this is so long, Mandy. You're doing such a great job in all aspects of your life. Keep going! One day you'll realize how important all of your struggles are in influencing others.
I'm proud of you for taking the bull by the horns and pushing through. You could have crumbled more than once, but you stayed strong. Never give up! 💕💕💕

@@allthingsmandy I am going to give it a shot - but modified! I have a walking pad now to help with getting steps in. Being honest I won't complete it as a challenge but after reading over the rules this is my plan for the next 75 days (Starting Monday):
Water: I already drink 60-70 oz a day but once I drop soda the increase should be easy.
Alcohol: I can't remember the last time I had an alcoholic drink, that one is easy for me.
Reading 10 pages: I love to read but I have let social media take over my free time. I have several non-fiction books at home I can start reading.
Diet: The two most important goals are my hardest, the only real diet I tried was 20 years ago with Atkins. My goal is to drop soda which is huge for me and never works out long-term, stop snacking on ultra processed food, and to focus on whole foods made at home.
Exercise: Due to my back I can't get too ambitious at the start so I am going to focus on filling the 45 minutes each day with either walking, yoga, or stretching / core exercises I learned from physical therapy. Depending on how I feel, I'll change it up during the 75 days.
      Good Luck!

75 soft sounds better. I do 30 min cardio a day and I got rid of joint pain finally!!! Also cut a lot of sugar but not all. Had a procedure yesterday and was not feeling it as far as the workout and my back hurts today 🙄

I have been divorced for 32 years. Sometimes listening to negativity is not healthy for one. It can lead to anxiety or depression. Even listening to negative topics is not healthy for the weak minded, you could slip into depression. I know first handed. Try watching happy stuff, surround yourself with people with solid topics. This is not healthy my opinion. I urge women to surround themselves with pleasant people. To repetitive negativity. Have a good day. TRY JESUS. HE IS THE REASON I AM DELIVERED FROM MY SADNESS. Try HIM , no need for unhappiness.

    • @allthingsmandy
      @allthingsmandy  7 месяцев назад

No, in NC you must be separated a year to the date before a divorce can be granted. We do still have 1 legal issue to settle before our divorce is final this summer so it most likely could be the cause!

Have you ever tried weight watchers? Tried and true. Allows you to loose around 2 lbs a week. It is based off of the Diabetic diet. Any diet you go on has to be a lifestyle change…not just a diet, believe me I know. I quit WW, because I wanted faster results. When my Cardiologist suggested WW to me again, I told him I wanted something faster. He replied, well look at it this way…that is still 2 lbs off of your body. That is 8 lbs in a month, and you get to eat anything you want within reason. Will it be hard? Yes any bad habit is hard to break and takes a lot longer to break than to incorporate it into your life. I did this and quit sugar, along with low carbs, walked 3-4 days out of the week for 20 minutes each time increasing it from 10 minutes to adding 5 minutes each time I walked. The other days I lifted weights. I got where I would run then walk then run. I was doing great until stress from things I was going through brought on RA. I had dropped a lot of weight and was off of all blood pressure medication and I was feeling great. Now I have got to get back upon that horse and start all over again. The older we get, the harder it is to fight to be healthy and loose weight. So Kudos to you for starting to take care and control of your life. I promise you will feel better…I was told that drinking too much water can flush away your electrolytes so be careful. I would check this workout plan with your doctor first before starting it. I also, ate before 6pm and on days I walked had a Starkist tuna packet with couple saltine crackers(5), a bottle of bottled water and once in a while a piece of fruit. That was my lunch. Breakfast was usually a soft boiled egg on avocado toast, coffee. At night I ate very lightly after I worked out with weights I bought. I would treat myself to get to do my walking at the zoo, to break up the scenery. Good luck and keep a positive attitude. It helps win the battle! 😊
