lynn m He was implying that the OP was saying black person in lieu of Rapper. That is part of the reason that Lost in Vegas (LIV) is so successful. As Eminem said so eloquently, IF THEY WERE WHITE THEY WOULD HAVE HALF.” LIV are extremely intelligent dudes but don’t get twisted, middle America and rural whites are drawn to seeing intelligent people of color discover, appreciate and fall in love with what they perceive as “white music” ( Yes I know the history of music and understand where rocknroll started)

There are two rules (that I know of) in the mosh pit:

That's how SOAD is. They're Armenians who went to the same Armenian school in California. But I do know the singer, Serj grew up there as a kid up until 7, I think. He remembers bombs dropping and the death. Their music, as weird as it gets, also talks about the shit that went on and how Turkey still denies the genocide against theirs people.

SOAD concerts are the best. Saw them on tour at 2018. When they played the Prison Song. Everyone went craaaazy. It was like a wave of people pushing each other. I could see from a distance 3 groups started a literal firepit and moshed around it.

This reaction is everything. I feel like so many people just write off SOAD from the get go because they're different, when that's what makes them a great band. It's nice to see someone just vibe to and appreciate the music for what it is instead of nitpicking it for what it isn't, or is too much of... if that makes any sense 😂😂

"someone's getting punched" - that's the thing about music like this, you can't even imagine the goodwill in a moshpit sometimes. I can say of every live show I've ever been to, the ones with a moshpit always felt safest in terms of people looking out for and after each other.

Always think that the reason that rockers and metalheads are so laid back (besides the dope) is because the aggression is taken out in a socially acceptable way, the mosh pit and the dancing. Its raw energy.

100 percent. youd think peopel would just get straight up trampled but nope someone falls everyone makes room and picks you up. saw a dude at a show who was handicapped, some guys in the crowd lifted his wheelchair up in the middle of the room and held him up for a whole song so he could jam out and see the band, they were strangers. The camaraderie is unmatched in the metal scene

It is really great to see someone appreciate SOAD for the first time. Especially after I've grown up with them since middle school. Its been such a shame that they broke up and haven't been able to put out anything since Hypotize. We got a couple songs recently but that was only because they could finally (briefly) get over their egos to raise awareness for the Armenians again. One thing that sucks about getting old is realizing your favorite artists are never going to put out another album.

As someone who grew up listening to ALL of these rock songs you react to then later on brushed up on my good old school rappers and now rap is usually my go to. I thank you for these videos and your fair and honest point of view, I've always felt certain aspects of each genre play super well into the other and, as a general rule of the universe, music IS supposed to bring us all together, even if we don't bang the same thang. Much love and God bless you sir. Keep up the good work!

@@billfenton7147 Yeah, he's not a world renowned opera singer, but he was trained professionally by one, hence why he has the ability to actually sing and not just scream haha
