Just started on my Ed journey. Saw your Akuma guide and knew exactly who to go to to get the good sauce on the Ed combos. Your vids are really informative, easy to digest and perfect for someone like me who has a hard time with combos. Keep up the awesome work, you're doing great!
Anyone have a few Ed tips specifically for a beginner SF/SF6/Fighting game player just starting to really learn? I've always been an FPS/TPS player for over 20 years, the only fighting game experience I have is many years of smashing buttons hoping it works out against cousins/family and friends. I've decided to step away from shooters and hard commit to fighting games. My problem is my mind not being conditioned so to speak for fighting games, conditioned meaning mental/physical "muscle" memory along with all the fundamentals etc. if that's even a thing? I understand Ed is considered a technical more difficult character to learn especially for beginners, but honestly he's the only character in SF6 I actually like and want to play. My hope is Vega and or Sagat are on their way, within year 2 DLC preferably as those two are the only characters I've ever played in every SF I've played since SF2.
As a novice to fighting games, there are definitely fundamentals that you will have to learn & become consistent with, so you’re correct on that end! Think about when you first started fps games and how long it took you to get to where you are now. Whether you’re at the skill level you want or not, it takes time to build this new skill. Start with the tutorial in SF6 if you haven’t already. Combo trials are also there too, if you need them. But I would start with learning the absolute basics of fighting games. The states (Neutral, Offense, & Defense), how many buttons there are (4-6 buttons) and what each of them does, then work on combos (start small). If labbing combos in the dojo isn’t the best way you learn, get out there and press the buttons with an intent to learn! Focus on one thing at a time. Small goal like “I want to be able to consistently hit my opponent with x button” or “I want to learn how to do my super whenever I have the meter to do so”. If you want to talk more, join Kai’s discord! Myself & plenty of other experienced fgc players will be there to answer questions you need!😊
Love this combo tutorial format. Great demonstrations without long explanations.

I’m decent with Ed but I still struggle with him. This’ll come in handy, thanks bud!

The Nicest My Guy! Can't wait to see how people build off these Routes too!
The first combo, I only get 2910 damage yet everything connects just like the video. Was his damage nerfed somehow?
Finally 🎉
IT IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
He’s so hard to use
Think you can show these off in actual matches?
Maybe one day, Covering the rest of the cast Combos first!
