Stop trying to promote it as affordable! I don not complain about the hardware it is good but the price is out of reach for 90% of home theater hobbyists. The fact that i came down 2 third of the price and still start at $ 9000 is ridiculous. If I had the money yes I to would buy it but it is not even in the same universe as affordable!
These reviewers are so out of touch with what is considered affordable for the home theater enthusiasts. Sorry but 9k is no where near affordable. I’ll stick with Plex where I actually own my media on my local NAS. The sad part is that with K you are handcuffed to the company. If the company ever goes under then you would probably keep your media but wouldn’t be able to download anything new.
You keep making the same comment on everybody's Strato V videos. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and just simply point out that you are completely missing the point of the Strato V product. With any if these type devices, you can only watch one movie at a time, so having more than one downloaded is not necessary. Sure, downloading more titles could be more convenient if you plan to watch more than one movie in a row, but even then with a 10 minute download time (or less), that allows time to hit bathroom, top off their drink, pop another round of popcorn, let the dog out, etc., between movies. Bottom line, the Strato V is not a movie library server for stored digital content (but can be if paired with a Terra server). The Strato C/Terra server is. The V is more akin to a Roku or Apple TV streamer (which don't allow any storage), but with the highest available quality audio and video data available to residential customers. If you don't care about the a/v quality, or can't tell the difference, just drop $150 on an Apple TV/Roku 4k and go on your happy way. You will even have a lot more functionality. If you do care, then simply decide if the price differential is worth it to you or not. It's that simple. For me, I don't care about storing content in home. My internet is plenty fast to download what I want to watch. At $9k, the smallest Terra server and a Strato C isn't worth it to me. I'll happily settle for my 4k disc player. At $5k, I'm thinking the Strato V may be.
So on 16:9 screen what's the benefit of the Core Envy? Does it cut out the HDR vs SDR delay when content changes? Does it help picture quality in RUclips tv, youtube, 4HD blurays?
The Kaleidescape Strato V is affordable in America but in England Kaleidescape is charging almost $7000 for the same device, so this is not affordable to anyone outside America!
If you pair this with a Terra Server, will you get the updated Picture Wall UI that makes Kaleidescape so attractive? I find the Strato V's UI to be very cheap looking.
I get the Kaleidoscape business model (but IMO they get more if make their product even more affordable) and I can imagine buying their products, but it's hard for me to understand for what I need to pay such money in case of madVR or Lumigene. Thousands for some kind of enhancers, which I mostly turn off then watch films :) Maybe you need to experience it by yourself to get it. But for me, it seems it is very last mile then you get very expensive stuff already and look for perfection.
I agree it is the last mile for sure. But there are some use cases where its a fundamental tool... particularly for geometric correction on some projection systems.
Seriously, buy a Zidoo with a laptop for 10% of the price. Same quality and you own the movie. If you have a 2:35. 1 wide screen and a projector then Madvr core is a worthy upgrade. If you have a 16:9 TV, you are most likely wasting your money…
Thanks for watching. I’m general you don’t buy Kaleidescape as a picture quality play. Yes, it technically can be better, but that’s not the reason. I’ll be doing a video with madVR talking about the 16:9 TV use case soon.
The problem jiles is I already have thidls at home. It cost me less than 500 dollars. The mad vr started out as a free project for htpc. I have had an htpc for almost 20 years. They brought down the price becaue they are bleeding money. The box is an upselll pc..thats it bro. Plus, you dont even own the movie. I can play a 60 gb film on my pc that is 4k hdr. They are overcharing so badly that its almost criminal. You are missing your audience as well. The people watching you either cant afford this or are geeked out enouh to know what it is. Envy guy used " pure video" stupid marketing word.
You don't have this at home if you don't have these products. You have a solution that works for you, but its not this stuff. I get your point... the hardware cost isn't = to the cost of the product... but you aren't buying hardware here. You are buying software. Thats where the magic is. Anyone can go out and buy a bucket of pieces ... but it wont do what these things do! Don't worry thought, I have have plenty of content coming for different products at all kinds of price ranges. R-Volution and Zidoo are waiting in the wings. A great Onkyo processor. A 24" subwoofer build. I got you covered! Oh, some 10" subs from RSL too. They are bangers!

Thanks for clouding home theater

$4000.00 for 10 movies and a stripped down UI. NO way. I saw it in person and the UI looks nothing like kaleidascape

@@gjhunter9326 they need to see how we feel.
I saw it in person and was quite impressed. It’s so much easier for someone new to the platform to get started.
Stratos3d failed big and old time ago this is also
Very exciting news! Thanks for sharing!
Our pleasure!
Looking forward to your DIY episodes!
Working on getting another set up!

Aspect ratio changes, stretches, tone mapping for HDR, lots of tech in there.
Great video. Just to clarify. If I were to add a terra server to the Strato V then I would get the full UI correct?
That is my understanding.

Are products available now? I read the Core is Sept/Oct.
The Strato V is shipping now. The Core is shipping next month I believe.
