One of the times where I actually think they are equal gameplay wise. Both will cast 2 skills, Ult then swap. Mortefi with his Forte and Xingqiu with sacrificial sword. If both are used in their optimal teams, I say it's actually equal, gameplay and enjoyability wise. Although 1 thing I have is Mortefi is actually fun to play Solo.
Yas, and what I love about WuWa characters Melee/Gunner is that their basic attack doesn't deal boring physical dmg but rather, their elemental attributes, which is really FAB ✨💅🏻 literally "SLAY"
This is rather hot take but gun wielders in Wuthering waves are the least exciting in terms of moveset animation given the nature of the weapon itself and the fact that they all use the same animation for mid air attack and heavy attack (aiming mode). But i like to be proven wrong in the future.

Yes agree i hope they do something overkill like wanshi lucid dreamer or lee hyper real,or maybe something more plausible for wuwa wanshi hypnos with his sniper stance being his forte skill(basicly like chixia stack forte bullet then fire it using aiming mode)
One of the few cases where I can say one Genshin effect is more satisfying (the rainsword hit), Mortefi burst isn't bad but it gets lost among the other effects. The rest Mortefi, and as someone said he is actually fun to play solo, plus he doesn't look like he is about to suck out your soul while looking at both ways of the road at the same time.

Mortefi takes this one, actually 4* WuWa characters takes any kit comparisons vs Genshin 4* since they do have ultimate skill animations, Genshin's 4* dont. That's my simple reasoning.

Don't forget that on first "constellation" you would activate Mortefi's ult with skills as well which makes him useful in more compositions...👌😌
