- I sold this Toyota T100 last year about this time with over 340K on the odometer. It was a great blend of rugged old school truck, mixed with some of the modern things you'd want like A/C and bench seats!
Авто/Мото
Good old 5vz fe, can't hardly kill them. One of Toyotas best!!
350K and still going strong!
305k and going strong as well out in the mountains of NC
Take care of it man. My 1996 t100 got totaled but still took me home safe and refused to die. Sold it to insurance and got a 2023 Tacoma sport but man the T100 was my baby. I had big plans for it even bought a customized grill with led toyota logo. 😢 I miss it so much
It's hard for me to imagine why it wasn't a bigger seller. It's literally the perfect sized truck.
I've got a 1994 with the 3.0 engine. It has 532k miles now. I've gotta put a fuel pump on it, then I'll try to get it into the million mile club.
One of the best trucks ever made. A real work horse.
I bought a 1996 tacoma 2.7 manual 4x4 regular cab in 1999 with 25k miles on it. It's manual everything locks, windows, trans, transfer case, hubs, gauges, ect. I lifted the cab and removed the bed and undercoated everything real good. I did it again last year. It saved the frame and bed. I've got 160k miles on it now after 27 years and hope to get another 160k out of it. The t100s were underrated too. Now the older toyotas are becoming collectable.
This one was rust free as well. Very rare these days!
Don't worry . I have 326,000 on mine. The 3.4 ltr.
Mine is a 1995 2.7 L 4, all manual, just under 444,000 miles. I am the original owner, only 2 failures ever, harmonic balancer very early in its life and the shifter fork broke last year. I don't want to ever get rid of this truck.
My father in law has a green 1993 model year T-100 SR5. You will not find a nicer one either. It's been garage kept its' entire life. He got upgraded wheels and tires maybe 2 years ago and the stance is awesome!
These trucks are the best-
That truck looks great with the T/As on it and no doubt runs very well. A perfect hauler for whatever someone's needs might be.
It is the perfect size too. Not mammoth like newer full size trucks, and not as small as the Tiny sub-compact trucks of old.

I love T100s. You would like my Japanese market turbo diesel Land Cruiser Prado I imported.
The "Land Crushers" as I like to call them are the most incredible off roader ever built!
Hello from another North Carolinian.
Hey!!
My dad has a 96 still running perfectly fine in 2023
They really are the perfect truck! I've seen a few that made this one look rough, so there are some mint models out there still.
My front seat looks the same.
326,000 miles so far. I bought it at 298,000. These didn't sell because they cost more than a F150 and only had a v6 or a 4 banger.
Toyota tried to get people to by them by putting a cap on the box for free and a bug guard for free. High tarrifs on imports back in 95.
That makes sense. It was a great truck, but if it was more than a F150 with a V8, I can see why it suffered.
I remember the head mechanic at the Toyota dealer got one when they first came out. They marketed it as 150 hp, the same as a Chevy v8 at the time. It seemed big at the time. Great truck!
The 3.4L V6 is slow, but it has a lot of pulling power.
The 150 hp would be correct for the first year 1993. They had the 3.0 V6. The 3.4 came in the 95-98 models and are rated at 190 hp
I have a 1995 Tacoma. I am definitely a Toyota fan!
Same as this one! Cool truck!
I wanted the standard cab long bed 4x4 version with a manual transmission. They are excellent trucks and ride surprisingly well for a truck.
The single cab truck.... LOVE IT!
Had one loved it. Ironman in Alabama 73s
I regret selling this one, but we had too many cars, and I have the tiny rabbit truck doing "Truck" type work.
I have a 1989 toyota pickup 4x4. Best truck I have. Also have the same INFOWARS sticker on my bumper!
Right on!
I have a lot of videos on my channel of my old T100, miss that thing to death, but I got handed down to me a 2006 4x4 Tacoma. No brainer to keep the Tacoma than the T100. It was also 2WD, wished it was 4WD for the longest time. Anyway, good video man. Taking me back to my old truck.
I am glad that I could bring back some memories.
I have a 95, standard cab DX. The T-100 has been dead reliable with 284K miles. I lucked out paying 4 grand for it; Best vehicle I’ve ever owned.
These really are hidden gems. The Tacoma's go for way too much money, but these are better all around and cost less.
I'm looking at a 4 cylinder 5 speed with 78k. I never owned a toyota. Should I pull the trigger and buy it?
I'd say go for it. The only two things I'd be cautious of with that 4 cylinder: Expect to do a timing chain replacement between 100k - 150k miles. It's more important to do that with the 4 cylinder since it's an interference engine; The 6 cylinders are non-interference. Second, expect the truck to be VERY slow. Outside of those two points, the truck is solid@@justing6594
That's a creampuff unless its been thrashed. For a work or town truck it would be perfect. So much more interior room than a Tacoma. 20-25 mpg too.
Yes sir, I got the same year and model. I agree with every single detail you said sir
Great video. I bought a new 98 T-100 Black 4x4 and I have 160k on it and I have never been towed either. Was going to sell and get a new Tundra but have decided to just keep it as it does everything I need in a truck. Have towed my 19.5 Triton Bass Boat all over with no issues. I just recently put new led headlights and back up lights on it and that's the best thing I have ever done to it as those stock headlights were the only weak spot on my truck.....I now have rust on my rear bumper and going to search the junk yards for one so I can replace it. Great job on 300k + miles on yours....pretty sure I can do the same.....
You are smart not to sell yours, there is so much life left in her.
Accurate analysis. Good torque. Good review.
Thanks! These are great trucks!
Heck yeah man! That 5vz fe last forever! Long live gas and diesel trucks!
Can't kill them!
Really nice truck. Wish I had bought one. My Tacoma was as close as I came.
The "Taco" is a great truck as well. I'm looking for a 2 door Tacoma 4 cylinder right now.
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs My 07 6 did me well.
nice truck i drive a 2006 4x4, 2.7 liter standard 5 speed i love it previous owner had put a 2 inch lift kit on so that is 2 leaf springs on the back so it carries very well has just under 200000 kilometers on it running syntactic oil as previous owner hood and tailgate should be repainted clear coat coming off was an alberta truck original cassie which in nova scotia with salt on the roads a lot of them wound up getting new chassis from the factory mine is original but i have it undercoated every year also plan on adding fog lights had to put stronger light bulbs not very good at night on wet roads
Nice. That is a great truck from the sounds of it. I'd love to have that 2.7L I hear they are indestructible.
Great video thanks for the honest review 💯
No problem 👍
Toyotas go and go and go......nice truck. We just bought a 2023 Tundra. ❤
If it wasn't for rust, I think everyone of them would still be on the road! What?!?! A new Truck?!!? Did you sell the outlander?
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs No, the Outlander is still with us. The other car died so it was a good time to get a truck.
When he says it’s reliable it is really only needs gas n oil keep up with that the truck will prob last your whole life and your kids (don’t believe me mine 1995 was bought brand new from the dealer by my great grandfather it has its problems but it’s an amazing truck just gotta keep everything up to date) just nice small burnouts too🎉
Toyotas are amazing if you do the maintenance it calls for-
Very valuable truck all around for it's age. Someone would buy it for $5,000 or more.
It would go for more where I live, which is insane. I am old school, where used cars/trucks should be $2000 or less.
What did you use for exhaust replacement? I need to replace mine soon but don’t want anything loud and obnoxious. I have a 1998 4x4 T100 and I love it!
We just did a standard muffler- we did ask them that we wanted nothing fancy-
Toyota needs to bring back the simple hard to kill truck. I have a 95 as well. Power steering , brakes, 4x4 and roll down windows. So Toyota stop putting bells and whistle’s on all of your trucks. It’s not needed clearly.
I love this because you are so right. Trucks need to be trucks not luxury that costs more than my first house
Exactly affordable working trucks. And the option to upgrade to to today’s digital technology.
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairsjust curious where did you get the bull bar? Truck looks great!
Lol call it the terminator!
It is the T-100. It is superior.
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs yep 👍🏼 I’ll be back!
Man I need your truck 😂😂 nice T100👍🏽
You and me both!
Nice condition.
Indeed! This truck is amazing- It really shows what can happen if you maintain your vehicles
What Brush Bar and Side steps are those I am having a hard time finding them for my T100?
I can't remember where- Wish I had a better answer for you
I have a 98 T100 and can't find a brush guard to fit it. Where did you get yours?
This was bought off Amazon in 2015. Not sure if it's still on there.
This era of Toyota trucks were BUILT TOUGH
Agreed. These were true work trucks.
Beautiful truck, we have one we are fixing up. My son loves tje front brush bar, do you remember who makes it? He wants a bumper like it.
While I don't recall the name, I can say that it was bought off Amazon and they had a winch attachment for it as well.
hi how did you put the cb in the dash
The dash hole is a double din slot. Just pick a single din radio and a single din CB and you zip tie them together. I have a video on this install on my main channel.
Gotta get a battery and muffler but if anybody has some update suggestions lmk I got a 95 t100 not a sr5
I am pretty sure the battery is a MT34. Not sure about exhaust.
I have a 98 sr5 and the best update I did was LED front head lights and led back-up lights...my only regret was not doing it sooner....Those halogen head lights were terrible........
@@TnVolFan alright thank you 🙏
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairsappreciate it man 🙏🙏
@@TnVolFanwhat brand/ where did you buy em brother
Where’d you get the bumper ?
That was from Amazon. It had a front mounted hitch that I used so I could plow with a K2 plow. Worked great.
