  • I sold this Toyota T100 last year about this time with over 340K on the odometer. It was a great blend of rugged old school truck, mixed with some of the modern things you'd want like A/C and bench seats!

    Take care of it man. My 1996 t100 got totaled but still took me home safe and refused to die. Sold it to insurance and got a 2023 Tacoma sport but man the T100 was my baby. I had big plans for it even bought a customized grill with led toyota logo. 😢 I miss it so much

    I've got a 1994 with the 3.0 engine. It has 532k miles now. I've gotta put a fuel pump on it, then I'll try to get it into the million mile club.

    I bought a 1996 tacoma 2.7 manual 4x4 regular cab in 1999 with 25k miles on it. It's manual everything locks, windows, trans, transfer case, hubs, gauges, ect. I lifted the cab and removed the bed and undercoated everything real good. I did it again last year. It saved the frame and bed. I've got 160k miles on it now after 27 years and hope to get another 160k out of it. The t100s were underrated too. Now the older toyotas are becoming collectable.

      Mine is a 1995 2.7 L 4, all manual, just under 444,000 miles. I am the original owner, only 2 failures ever, harmonic balancer very early in its life and the shifter fork broke last year. I don't want to ever get rid of this truck.

    That truck looks great with the T/As on it and no doubt runs very well. A perfect hauler for whatever someone's needs might be.

      It is the perfect size too. Not mammoth like newer full size trucks, and not as small as the Tiny sub-compact trucks of old.

    My front seat looks the same.
    326,000 miles so far. I bought it at 298,000. These didn't sell because they cost more than a F150 and only had a v6 or a 4 banger.
    Toyota tried to get people to by them by putting a cap on the box for free and a bug guard for free. High tarrifs on imports back in 95.

    • @FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs
      @FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs  8 месяцев назад

      That makes sense. It was a great truck, but if it was more than a F150 with a V8, I can see why it suffered.

  • @brad7670
    @brad7670 Год назад +3

    I remember the head mechanic at the Toyota dealer got one when they first came out. They marketed it as 150 hp, the same as a Chevy v8 at the time. It seemed big at the time. Great truck!

    • @DMJ160
      @DMJ160 Год назад

      The 150 hp would be correct for the first year 1993. They had the 3.0 V6. The 3.4 came in the 95-98 models and are rated at 190 hp

    • @zachc8706
      @zachc8706 9 месяцев назад

      I'd say go for it. The only two things I'd be cautious of with that 4 cylinder: Expect to do a timing chain replacement between 100k - 150k miles. It's more important to do that with the 4 cylinder since it's an interference engine; The 6 cylinders are non-interference. Second, expect the truck to be VERY slow. Outside of those two points, the truck is solid@@justing6594

      @zener81 9 месяцев назад

      That's a creampuff unless its been thrashed. For a work or town truck it would be perfect. So much more interior room than a Tacoma. 20-25 mpg too.

    Great video. I bought a new 98 T-100 Black 4x4 and I have 160k on it and I have never been towed either. Was going to sell and get a new Tundra but have decided to just keep it as it does everything I need in a truck. Have towed my 19.5 Triton Bass Boat all over with no issues. I just recently put new led headlights and back up lights on it and that's the best thing I have ever done to it as those stock headlights were the only weak spot on my truck.....I now have rust on my rear bumper and going to search the junk yards for one so I can replace it. Great job on 300k + miles on yours....pretty sure I can do the same.....

    Toyota needs to bring back the simple hard to kill truck. I have a 95 as well. Power steering , brakes, 4x4 and roll down windows. So Toyota stop putting bells and whistle’s on all of your trucks. It’s not needed clearly.
