  • Well after all the comments on the last video, about losing a nice fish, I had to come back to Perch Rock on the River Mersey and try again. This time armed with the AFAW GB FS Pro's, I knew I had the muscle to bully big fish on to the shore.

Massive, thank you for the shout-out regarding the calendar ❤. A few questions can you cook? Are you guaranteed to catch whiting if so what do you plan to make with them?
Last but not least pleas don't kill a ray 😊

It's my pleasure mate, for a great cause!
I'm not bad in the kitchen, you don't get my figure from not being able to cook 😂
You usually have to fight through the whiting to get to the Cod, my favourite is fish cakes

If your ever up near SW Scotland fishing give me a shout. Would love to dust off the old ABU zooms lol. Regards Lee.

I know, I thought I was. I managed to lift that one, then as soon as it hit the shallows it stopped dead. The total fight was 6 and a half minutes.

Reminds me of when I worked at camel lairds on the Mersey. One of the docks was full of mullet,I used to feed them bread. I brought a telescopic back with me ,and one of the locals brought his gear in. I had one on bread about 3 pound, the local pulled one out and knocked it on the head just as the managing director turned up and give us a bollocking! Anyway he took it home, cooked it and brought it in next day, very tasty actually

I enjoy the travel, it builds the anticipation. I'd love to be able to just nip out for an hour or so after work. But I know I'd get bored fishing the same mark week in week out. I won't decide on where to fish until the night before or maybe even in the van on the way. All depends on the weather really.

The way you are going Alex you are going to have to change your channel name soon to the bloody good angler. As for catch and cook I'm all for it as long as it's not a seagull, rat or that condom you hooked a while back. Never eaten a ray and don't think I would either as there are much nicer fish out there. The last time I did a catch and cook the Mrs complained about the mess and it turned into a fight, she was ok but 2 cod got battered. I do cook a nice lobster though but last time when I turned my back it's claw came out of the pot and turned off the gas. Nice to see you out and about doing the business, take care buddy.

I believe for a C&C it's a tesco steak for the pan just in case...

Great to hear that mate! Unfortunately mine are a bit neglected at the min. So many things getting in the way we are struggling to get decent walks in never mind any sort of training

I'm not really into the catch and cook. Much prefer catch and release. I might take an odd cod though...
