I've heard his songs of course, but I think I started learning more about who he was when I saw a viral clip somewhere of one of his concerts where his tics started acting up onstage and it turned into an impromptu audience-led segment. It was really sweet to see all his fans help reassure him through what I imagine would otherwise have been a high-stakes scenario. I was introduced to Lewis Capaldi by this interview and I became an INSTANT fan. I stayed up late watching his music videos and interviews and I am obsessed with his music, his personality, his pure humanity on display.
I found him some months ago after listening by mistake to the most heartbreaking song ever heard. I was shocked, such an amazing voice, you can feel all of the emotions.. I can't even imagine how it must be to listening to him at his concert😪☺️
I started liking him because of the Niall Horan hot ones episode. He tells the funniest lewis capaldi story. it happens in 9:41 - 11:30 in the niall episode lol
He's not just a national treasure to Scotland, he is a generational treasure to us all. dealing with his mental health, not the typical pop star but a round funny down to earth hero. made it for us all!
One, Lewis Capaldi is a delight and was so fun to watch. Two, his respect for Jenny Ortega absolutely crushing those wings was so wholesome, I couldn't stop smiling every time he was amazed.
The video of him trying to perform at the Glastonbury Festival and the crowd helping him out by singing for him was incredible, it brought a tear to my eye. If you haven't seen it, you should do yourself a favor and watch it.
The fact that he was able to do this and get through to the end while clearly struggling, and to keep everyone laughing hysterically at the same time….just shows the kind of of person he is. Such a legend ❤️

It’s fun to watch fans and it’s fun to watch guests become fans as the show goes on. They start out like it’s another interview then some “that’s a good question” and some tears later you can tell they’re having a good time. This show is magic lol.
What a great guest. I love how he shaded dj kalid and gave props to Jenna Ortega. Well done Lewis for saying what we all think. Great success on your new album.
The little hints to know he's a fan and that they actually get these videos out quickly
Why the shade to dj kaled?
@@chuy5152 khaled famously tapped out after like 3 wings and proceeded to be undeservedly cocky for the rest of the interview, whilst not actually answering most of the questions! It was wild.
@@ScotiaSparkleshat would be his exact response I can totally see it. So glad I didn’t watch it. I bet Sean and the team all hated doing his interview
@@chuy5152cause khaled likes to think he is this god. He literally called sean out a liar about the wings. Chuy bro he tapped out after cholula sauce. Cmon bro
Sean's ability to match the energy of the guests is fantastic. And Lewis might be one of my favorite guests ever.
Without a doubt one of the funniest episodes ever. I love Lewis and Sean together. I was vida my crying from laughter at Lewis’ humor.
Lewis is one of the best people to come out of Scotland, he's a legend and we're proud to call him ours 🏴
And Gordon Ramsey, he was the first Scotsman on hot ones
i had a chance to visit scotland this year and the scottish were all grand, such a beautiful country too.
@@liammichael.1202 He's about as Scottish as a plastic thistle made in Taiwan.
Never seen Sean take such a backseat to a guest. Lewis was at the wheel taking us on a special ride this episode.
Now Sean has shown it all. Dude is such a pro. Lets the guest take over when its good for the show.
Never listened to this guy, but I am endeared. What a genuine person. He just is who he is. I don't think I've heard Sean laugh so much in an episode.
If you haven't already, you'll quickly realise that his music is literally the saddest songs you'll likely ever hear lol
I heard one of his songs, loved it. Played for my partner and she was sobbing half way through.
Man, this was so funny! It was so cute that he and Sean had met before and he saved the personalized intro. Seems like a great guy and I like him even more after this interview, he was so funny. Best of luck to him.
Same!!!❤
I started liking him because of the Niall Horan hot ones episode. He tells the funniest lewis capaldi story. it happens in 9:41 - 11:30 in the niall episode lol
I found him at quarintine , the best.
Best episode by far!! ❤
He's not just a national treasure to Scotland, he is a generational treasure to us all.
dealing with his mental health, not the typical pop star but a round funny down to earth hero. made it for us all!
By far the FUNNIEST Hot Ones I've seen. Lewis is HILARIOUS and I love seeing Sean way more comfortable and in his normal state.
This is now one of my fav episodes!! "look at us" callback; perfect!
One, Lewis Capaldi is a delight and was so fun to watch. Two, his respect for Jenny Ortega absolutely crushing those wings was so wholesome, I couldn't stop smiling every time he was amazed.

@@biqos My bad - thanks!
The video of him trying to perform at the Glastonbury Festival and the crowd helping him out by singing for him was incredible, it brought a tear to my eye. If you haven't seen it, you should do yourself a favor and watch it.
Just did right before I watched this. Had a rough day and it did indeed bring a few tears to my eyes. Powerful stuff.
Link?
Thats how I found out who this dude was, and wow it hit me deep. I'm not an emotional person at all but I was literally on the verge of tears
I love that Lewis could easily be a singer or a stand up comedian and still sell out arenas, he's such an amazing guy.
🤔
For real! He comes across as so genuine, and it's hard not to like him.
Lewis deserves a long and happy life.
The fact that he was able to do this and get through to the end while clearly struggling, and to keep everyone laughing hysterically at the same time….just shows the kind of of person he is. Such a legend ❤️
Sean being compared to Nardwaur has to be the highest praise an interviewer can receive. THE KINGS
Nardwaur!
The subtitles said ‘nodules’....
Glad you pointed out what an awesome episode that would be!
@@Lauraphoid Yeah, the subs trying to keep up with Lewis were almost as funny as Lewis himself! I actually watched this twice, once for the interview and once just to read the subs.
Thanks to this episode now I NEED nardwaur on hot ones lol please someone make this happen
Nowhere close to nard... it's like guys saying J Cole is the next Tupac... there's only one Nard... couldn't compare the two, Sean doesn't know the stuff Nard does... Sean is still great, but he's not telling you what you did on March 7th 1994... he's asking, Nard isn't asking.
Lewis is soooooo awkwardly funny. 😂 So charismatic and refreshingly honest. Much success to him and this show.
I feel like a lot of people don't realise how self aware, intelligent, and well spoken Lewis is because of his constant comedic side. I don't listen to his music, but I love him as a person. This was a wonderful interview
Lewis is such a great guy. Love his personality and I agree that Sean needs to have Nardwuar on the show. The best 2 interviewers on the planet together eating hot wings would be epic!
I love how real and down to earth Lewis is. He is just like us, the only difference is his angelic voice 😍
Such a great interview
I want no answers though. I want nard to answer with a counter question about Sean
Everyone mentions nardwaur, but he isn't a good interviewer. He just finds secrets but doesn't make for good conversation everything.
@@SullytaanAgreed. I grew up watching his interviews on MuchMusic and it was dreadful
@@Sullytaan I disagree. And he doesn't find secrets, just less accessible information. His content is actually entertaining and not all about pressing them for information about their personal lives like when when celebrities are going to have babies or get married or who they're sleeping with
I couldn’t name a single Lewis Capaldi song, but that man has a fan for life in me. Down to earth, funny, relatable. Great stuff!
Give it a listen. Some of the best, yet saddest music I’ve ever heard
I just know his music isn't my thing but he's such a fkn brilliant human being right here I'm going to Spotify right after this
SAME SAME SAME! Love him! 😂❤
His Netflix doc really is hard hitting too but so insightful to see what he goes through, just want to see someone who lives 10 mins away from me to do well😅
@@AlexMc13x I can’t wait to watch it! Thanks!
This man is an actual gem. Hilarious, inspiring, down to earth.
Lewis is just so funny, charming and lovable. He also managed to prove that Scotland leads the world on swearing skills and he's a black-belt at it!
This was possibly the funniest episode ever. I loved all of the references to previous episodes and guests! He knows the show so well! He is one of us! All fandoms love an inside joke, a niche reference and Hot Ones fans are no different.
In all seriousness, I’m now a Lewis Capaldi fan because this interview shows that his personality is 10/10. One of my favorite episodes of all time.
The thing about hot ones is that you can totally see the guests are genuinely excited to answer the questions.
Lewis needs to be protected all costs. He hasn't let fame get to him. He is just genuinely himself.
Lewis calling back to the iconic Paul Rudd moment that we all quote on a regular basis...absolute legend.
ICONIC
I cannot express in words the joy that immediately hit me just seeing that this video exists. Lewis Capaldi may be my top 5 favourite people in the world. My GOD what a non-celebrity. I love him.
OK, i've watched it. I was right. iconic.
Same! I clicked watch IMMEDIATELY. Lol

I only know Capaldi from that "Someone you loved" song never really seen an interview with him. This guy is hilarious. Literally laughed out loud more than once.
Imagine doing an interview with Tourette's and killing it! Love this man! Keep inspiring!
The only other guest with Tourette’s was Billie Eilish, and she killed it too

@h0lly_blue I imagine it would be, but I don't have that problem. I'm a perpetual troll and it's not hard at all. Quite the opposite actually. Would you like a tissue? =)
Not going to lie... I only really know this guy from the social media videos of people singing his songs when he was struggling on stage... but WOW... this dude is AWESOME! His humor is on point and better than many comedians. I loved this episode! Lewis definitely needs to come back in a future season. I could listen to these two for hours. lol
He seems like such a genuinely good person as well as talented. Love that he lives openly, it’s been so helpful for the disability community.
When I first heard his music I absolutely loved it. I hadn't caught the name or seen him for quite a while but I loved his music. I first actually saw him on the Graham Norton show and was wondering who is this guy he's hilarious. He is hilarious. The thing I appreciate about him the most is his honesty very very refreshing.
I absolutely love how down to earth Lewis Capaldi is, even in his struggles he fights on. Much respect, and a perfect “That’s what she said” moment. Michael Scott would be proud 😂
Sean is an incredible host. He matches the energy of the guest so well no matter who they are and how they react.
it seems like he was more himself this interview than any other one ive seen
Lewis is so down to earth unlike some other celebs. He was struggling but still managed to be absolutely hilarious. What a guy 👏🏼
I cannot LOVE Lewis Capaldi enough. We've seen him twice in concert and he blew it away!! ❤🎶 He's just the best human, is love to be friends with him.
Man, every interview with Lewis Capaldi is great on its own, but on Hot Ones? Man, that was fun. I love how Lewis is really on the inside of Hot Ones like the rest of us, look at us. The guy is genuine.
Yh.. I love him on Graham
I've never seen Sean so entertained by a guest like this before. plus, I love seeing Lewis Capaldi crying after he made us all cry with his music video. revenge never tasted so spicy before
😂
Instant classic here. Immediately in the top 5-10 for me.
He's so just sincere and himself, it's such a breathe of fresh air.
I am obsessed with Lewis Capaldi! He is one of the most refreshing humans and always an enjoyment to watch! ✌️💗
Homeboy earned that outtro! He’s genuine, chill, absolutely lovable and relatable all at the same time. In other words, he’s himself through and through. He killed all the questions even whilst foaming at the mouth 🤤
Lewis is the chillest, most real, un-censored celebrity. Absolutely love him! More people like this! So nice to see him on hot ones 🤩
Whoever wrote that last question, thank you, I needed a blunt Scottish answer, for me only Lewis could deliver it. You’re the best.
It's impossible to dislike Lewis, what an amazing guy and great guest on the show. Also, The sound design on this show is beyond impressive, almost impressive as Sean's interviewing skills. Thank you for all the great content you've provided over the years, I enjoy every re-watch of the entire collection every few months, keep it coming!
I hope one day that Lewis can read these comments and feels the love that people have for his character and talent. He’s so resilient, so funny and such a lovable person.
I have heard his songs, but had no idea who Lewis Capaldi was. What a genuine human being this guy is. This episode moved into my top 3. I cant wait to learn more about Lewis' story!
He has just done a Netflix documentary. Would highly recommend!
Lewis fangirling over Sean is the sweetest thing. What a great interview 🥹
I cant describe how much I love Lewis - he's so iconic, so genuine. He really inspires me to be myself. My biggest regret was not paying to see him on tour before he stopped his concerts. Wish him nothing but the best!
