Cool video, I like the way you not only are curious and experiment to figure out all this stuff, but you also go to the trouble of making the videos to document it.
Just fyi. Most cars, including the ST, will let you know when the key's battery is low. It usually appears in the gauge cluster when you first start it up 😀.
Good one. Nice adding the last piece, I was going to say, it used to be on the column but you covered it. Also though on my '13 ST my car would warn me in the dash display that the key fob battery was low, it was pretty cool.
Not what i wanted to hear, but helpful thanks. My car s60 13' died while driving and my battery in smart key was dead. I was hoping that was problem . But it makes sense u said "the car is not always searching for the key"
LOL using a wallpaper scraper to rag open the key, all you need to do is squeeze the 2 tabs either side at the top next to the key ring bit. Then pop a flat head screwdriver in and push up and it pops open.
Can you help please? My focus ST will allow me to open the car by touching the handle but it’s not allowing me to lock. Can anyone help with this problem please on why this is ?
The proper way to open the key fob doesn't require prying it open with any tools. On that particular ford key fob, you press in the ends by the metal loop and it pops open. Of course, if you don't care about scratching the key fob up, Go ahead and use a putty knife or jackhammer, it will open.
Brian Pierce the guages are accurate but they move really sporadically so it's hard to read them. if you want accurate and easily readable guages u kinda got to get an accessport
do you know if the 12v chargers are always active even when the car is off? Cause when I turn off my focus st,the light on the gps charger is still lite even though I turned off the power on it,thanks...

Wow.. That was great info.. My Ford salesman did not give me any information regarding key fab failure.
Mac Dawg you can have the key fob battery replaced by any ford dealership
My key fob won’t start the car even when I place it on the sensor what do I do???
Are our boost gauges actually fully functional and accurate?

rfishy9 ford and Chevy still charge whatever is plugged in even though it is not actually turned on
HOW do I do that trick on my 2013 ST3?? Never mind you just told me!!! Next to the steering wheel. This video is HUGE and will save my ass some day.
+Philip Rosenthale lol! I almost forgot to mention the pre facelift models too haha.
Is your ST missing the back seat headrests too?
Why did it say RS on the screen but on the dash it says ST
I had changed mine to RS once and never changed it back haha.
You opened that key fob completely wrong
Excellent!! Thank you
Thanks!
Took you 4 minutes to get that......
I mean first
Lol! Kind of first and second haha.
Second
Anyone notice the Radio said RS?😂
Kind of defeats the purpose when you can’t change the dash to say RS too, lol.
Less talk, more doing.
