Thank you so much! We had already taught my dog to roll over. But after a year or so of us not paying attention to her tricks, she seemed to have forgotten how to roll over. Just by using this video I got her to roll over in minutes. I can't thank you enough!!
Thank you! My dog rolled over in about 15 minutes and has now learnt it I’ve been wanting to teach him roll over for ages I will subscribe and watch more of your vids 😘❤️
Well... when I told my dog to 'Rollover' He stood up and said "I teach you. Now, rollover" I did as he said. Am I doing something wrong or is this just part of the progress?
brilliant tutorial. I already got my collie to lie down and rolling onto his side prior to watching this but I was yet to master getting him to roll over. I have tried many times to no avail, and after watching this, literally within 10 minutes he could roll over on his own ! The main thing I learned here was patience. I had to keep him calm as he would get frustrated and at a slower pace.
Yay! It works, my cousin's dog easily understood what I was trying to get him to do in under 15 mins, he still follows it but slowly he'll follow it more faster soon
Hi i'm almost 13 and i have taught my German shepherd how to sit, jump, speak, lay down, play dead and spin, shes 3 years old and shes very smart, i wanted to learn how to teach her to roll over and shes doing great! :) thanks for the tip
You have to keep doing it... my dog did the same thing and now he knows... just grab the treat and when she follows it.. don't go into a circle push her head back...
My dog got this in less than 5 minutes! Thank you so much I have been trying to teach her for so long long but never found a way that worked until I saw this video!
You can try feeding low-calorie snacks such as carrots, other vegetables, fruit, rice, or even ice cubes. Include treats in the daily allotted calories, and limit treats to less than 10 percent of daily caloric intake. Please visit this page for more information. www.akc.org/content/health/articles/dieting-tips-for-chubby-canines/
I just started teaching my dog and she is doing so good I tell her to rollover and she automatically goes to her side so then I kinda push her stomach onto her back and she rolls over the rest of the way
You need to teach him not to bite you first! XD .....hold a treat for his nose, say "no"when he bites, if he stops biting or looks at you, give the treat and praise him/her! :D .....this is how I thought my puppy not to bite in my fingers
If your dog is biting you to get the treat when you are teaching roll over, you may need to first spend a little time teaching the dog to take the treat gently. Start with the dog sitting in front of you. Make sure the treat for this training is easy for you to hold on to. Tell the dog, "easy," and give the treat. If your dog tries to bite you or grab the treat, do not give the dog the treat. When the dog is calm, give the treat." Then teach some tricks that are easy (such as paws up) as the first part of tricks training.
I have a one year old cavapoo named Harley. He can do sit, paw, bro fist (other paw), down, stay and go, The "Harley shake" (he just jumps around in the circle, we made it up from the harlem shake.) and I just taught him this, took him about 10/15 minutes, good steps.
i get my dog to lie down and roll it over head really slowly but then she sits back up! I got her to roll once so that's a little promising but she just gets too excited for the treat.
Katie Mitchell I had the same problem, put the treat behind your dogs neck when they are lying on their side and convince them the only way to get the treat is to roll over. If she stands up, try again. Wish you the best !!
***** it took a lot of tries but i finally got her to do half a roll over.. I kept practising for a few more days and she always does it now. Except she doesn't do it on her own yet.
My puppy is a Schnoodle and she can kiss & sit (she's 2 months so i think that's pretty good for a lil tiny pup!) I tried to teach her this but she's just in it for the treat and it must be too complex for her to understand so we'll try again when she can actually go on walks outside too lol
My dog is very smart, she learnt paw and sit in 5 minutes, down and spin in 2 days but she refuses too roll over , she will roll over when she's sleeping or when she wants a belly rub, but not on command
i tryed to do it slow like u with my dog. but he is to energetic so his just snaps for the treet XD. also he is too smart so he just finds away to get it
Do everything you know to let him know that you are very ssd/upset (not mad) to make him feel guilty. I know it's wrong but it slightly gets his attention. Then work with him by not letting him snatch the treat. Hold it firmly in your hand so he doesn't get it when he isn't supposed to. Only let him have it when he is supposed to
I've gotten my dog to use her teeth to push her body over to roll over. But I can't command her to by herself, she's too reliant on the treat to move her and if I try to make her roll over by herself, she just turns around and tries getting it normally
Yeah I had that problem too,but here is the key so your dog doesn't turn the other way: be patient and do what he says, and to get your dog down on his back, have it on his nose then on his mouth, firmly hold it so he doesn't grab it,then kinda push gently without having it in his mouth(on his lips is acceptable) then right after move the treat on his tummy,to the other side of him (same direction as you got him on his back) and then drop it about 3 inches away on his other side. Your dog will eventually learn to move that same direction. As soon as you see it starts to work (even if he isn't doing it all the way at that moment but slowly following) praise him.eventually it will work!
My dog uses her hands a lot so she's constantly holding my hand in place trying to dig the treat out of my hand with her mouth lol I did get her to do it eventually though!
I just told my dog to roll over, then helped him to roll over by pushing with my hand, then gave him a treat and now he does it on his own when i tell him to roll over. Took me about two days to get him to do it on his own
My 7 year old dog I would be so scared to keep a treat in my dogs mouth because he is such a snatcher, he snatches EVERYTHING that is in my hand and if I take it out his mouth he just bites me but he is a lovely dog and I love him! My 9 year old dog Now on to my other dog called Isaac (by the way the other ones called Jack) Isaac is a great dog and he is really cute also he is a chunky monkey but he could be a bit mischievous sometimes, like when I go out the room he starts scratching the carpets because he misses me even though I am downstairs but he doesn't scratch when I'm outside the house which is weird but I love Isaac too
Say a command, for example 'roll over' just before you get them to roll over but with the treat first. So say 'roll over' then use the treat to get them to roll over. Over time, you can get the dog to do it without having a treat in front of his nose. It's a gradual thing and you have to do it step by step. It's about associating that movement with that name or signal. It is pretty simple, just need patience.
My dog is a chubby toy schnauzer and whenever I try to get him to roll over he just lays down and tries biting my hand while turning his head around. Am I doing something wrong?
I was going to put the treat on her nose, but she is so restless that she does not stand still. She tries to be quick to take the treat out of my hand. What should i do
my dog is like "give me food now pls"once she lays down i move the treat left to right and she just grabs it and in her mind i think she like"mwahahahaha i got da treat"
"Lie down."
Dog lies down
Moves hand to get him to rollover
Dog moves his head in circles

I think everything is fine! good bonding with your dog, letting him help you... maybe he could be a good yoga instructor! LOL
Ive never heard of that happening before and Ive been in the game for over 40 years!
Omg lol
Yea your doing this so well
Sme I think my dog was tryna do paw tho she did it after

Oh my god, Thanks so much, after about half an hour and a sore hand of him trying to give paw, my dog got it. Just thank you :-) :-)
that dog already knows how to roll over
Yay! It works, my cousin's dog easily understood what I was trying to get him to do in under 15 mins, he still follows it but slowly he'll follow it more faster soon

I just started teaching my dog and she is doing so good I tell her to rollover and she automatically goes to her side so then I kinda push her stomach onto her back and she rolls over the rest of the way
It took my dog all of 10 mins to learn this. After reading the other comments my next trick should be getting her to luck after my accounts.

My dog is doing it, but he got bored of it quickly so I'm having to give him a break. I really hope he starts doing it as good as this dog is

Same ! My dog just sits, lies down but when I move the treat she gets up and follows my hand
My 9 month old puppy learned this very quickly! I was quite surprised because she is normally an incredibly stubborn dog.

Thanks so much!!
Hi I used this to train my mini Australian shepherd he's 7 months old one try and only one treat he rolled over and rolled back!! Thank you!
My dog is very smart, she learnt paw and sit in 5 minutes, down and spin in 2 days but she refuses too roll over , she will roll over when she's sleeping or when she wants a belly rub, but not on command
We did this today and it worked for the most part. I'm going to do it everyday until he's doing it.

what do u use to train a dog like this but with out treats
My Dog Surprisingly Did It...After A Few Tries!
My dog weighs 126 pounds and I thought her this in a day shes doing great thank you
WORKED!!
What if your dog rebels and takes the treat anyways.
Do everything you know to let him know that you are very ssd/upset (not mad) to make him feel guilty. I know it's wrong but it slightly gets his attention. Then work with him by not letting him snatch the treat. Hold it firmly in your hand so he doesn't get it when he isn't supposed to. Only let him have it when he is supposed to
Loved it but do you have a way without treats?
Wow this works thanks so much!
my dog is already getting the hang of it
It works with my dog. She is the same bread than your dog. Thanks a lot!
My dog just turns her head.....
outsmarted.
My dog can now do lie down!!! but only if he's feeling in the mood to actually work for the treat!!! xD
perfect for my dog 🐶
How do you get your dog comfortable lying on her side because I can’t do step number three because she doesn’t want to lie on her side
My dog just tries to twist her head and stand up when I lure her
Jade my dog is a lab and does the same thing
Same
Yup mine too
My dog is scared of rolling over 😂😂 and when i try to lure her heas like that she just gets up and looks for the treat
At first he just tried to get the treat but then he rolled over. It took him a minute
I've gotten my dog to use her teeth to push her body over to roll over. But I can't command her to by herself, she's too reliant on the treat to move her and if I try to make her roll over by herself, she just turns around and tries getting it normally

My dog uses her hands a lot so she's constantly holding my hand in place trying to dig the treat out of my hand with her mouth lol I did get her to do it eventually though!
It worked on my springer spaniel
When do you make the command?
Ok. Now I just need a dog.
I just told my dog to roll over, then helped him to roll over by pushing with my hand, then gave him a treat and now he does it on his own when i tell him to roll over. Took me about two days to get him to do it on his own
Yay! That is another way to train the trick! Just keep practicing and be positive. The dog will eventually understand the trick.
very helpful
every time I do this he just barks gets his rope and want to play tug o war with me
My 7 year old dog
I would be so scared to keep a treat in my dogs mouth because he is such a snatcher, he snatches EVERYTHING that is in my hand and if I take it out his mouth he just bites me but he is a lovely dog and I love him!

Well I didn't teach him how to do roll over but I did teach my pup how to lay down!
Wow it really works
With this you get him to do it with the treat, but how do you make him do it on command?

#savagedog
Ok my dog he just lies on his side and only licks the treat if it's right in front of him😂
Pastel Blissing same
My dog learned it in 5 mins but it needs improving
Took an hour and a half and five small treats broken into very small pieces to get my puppy to sit, lie down, and roll over :)
Does it work for a American Eskimo
My dog is a chubby toy schnauzer and whenever I try to get him to roll over he just lays down and tries biting my hand while turning his head around. Am I doing something wrong?

Took my 2 year old australian shepherd about 15 minutes, and my 4 month old border collie about 25 minutes. Just work with your dog and be patient
My dog stands up from other tricks, any tips on how to stop that?
He bit my finger hard every time so I’ve stopped trying. Are they any other methods that don’t involve pain?
Thx
If I bring the treat near his nose he just bites and snaps at my hand hard
dearlyfinn m2
I was going to put the treat on her nose, but she is so restless that she does not stand still. She tries to be quick to take the treat out of my hand. What should i do
