As an American living in northern Minnesota, I am surprised with the similarities! Calm lakes, mosquitoes, deer crossing the road, thick pine Forrest’s, and iron mining. You can almost tell no difference between Northern Sweden and Duluth Minnesota where I am located. It’s no wonder my Swedish ancestors moved to Minnesota when they came to America!
I've learned that there's a lot of good people all over the world, and meeting them is my favorite part of traveling. Looks like you're Australian...I need to go there someday!
So pumped for this! Can't wait for what the next couple of episodes will hold. Hopefully a lot less mosquitoes, 'cause that campground was swamped with them.
Hi Ryan. I'm not sure if you'll see this or not, but I just wanted to let you know that your videos inspired me to "Get out there". I'm 60 years old with bad knees, a cranky back, and a bit of "extra energy", so I know I'll never be able to do the things you do. At first that was holding me back from jumping in, but as I watched more of your videos I realized... It's not about doing what you can do, it's about doing what I can do. So I got myself an ebike, and now I go out riding every day I can. Nothing too epic, 20-30 mile rides on paved roads and trails, but I absolutely love it. I'll never ride the Baha divide or bikepack the length of Sweeden, but nothing's gonna stop me from doing the things I CAN do, and having fun doing it. Thank you for your videos and for your wonderful and inspiring attitude toward life. I just wanted you to know that at least one person took your advice and "Got out there" :)
You are authentically being you and doing what you love while being kind to others. What is the net result of that? The best bikepacking videos on RUclips!
Soooo....making a comment on an episode I've already watched....yes...I'm watching again. 😊 Thank you for meeting up with bike touring Mike on this adventure. I subscribed to his channel and have really enjoyed it. More adventure. 😊
I love you, Ryan And your videos bring me joy. But I have to tell you, seeing you hunkered down in a tent in the rain and being devoured by mosquitoes also brings me joy. Go figure.
Hello, I’m riding my bike in Uzbekistan right now ☀️🥵Your videos always give me a morale boost. You do capture the emotions and philosophy of bike touring ! I hope to cross paths one day…
It's so surreal hearing you sing songs that I haven't heard for 25 years. You are like a bundle of nostalgia going through Sweden 😂 Would've been fun meeting up, I am also a biker.
I recognize Mike from some of the older Bicycle Touring Pro episodes touring with Darren Alf. Good to see that he is doing well and still getting out there!
Another Doozy of a Duzer! Ryan: Your linguistic talents (Spanish and Swedish) are incomparable ..... especially in the time interval since you were in Sweden. Connecting in their language with the residents of the country you're visiting, even if only at the "Good Day, Good Evening, How are you, Thank you" level in their language is truly an icebreaker and respect- and friendship-building effort that promotes the USA, not to mention yourself, in a wonderful way. You're a great ambassador for America!
Dear, Ryan, (kära Ryan) you are such a wonderful giver of helpful inspiration to get out there, and do some serious and fun cycling! As me living in Sweden, it is more than a joy to listen to your Swedish speaking skills! Thank you a ton for your sharing of all your unique bike packing adventures both in USA, and elsewhere on Earth! May God keep you both safe and immensely richly blessed together with your whole family and loved ones and great friends! Många varma hälsningar från Sverige! Du är så bra, Ryan! Jag är så glad att jag fann din YT-channel! Gud välsigne dig och alla dina nära och kära! PS. Så fint att du sjunger för oss! Bra där!! 💝💖❣💯❣💖💝👌👍👍👍💪🚴♂🦌🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲 Skog, skog och mera skog! ☺😊🙂
You’re one happy Duzer. Got curious about your encounter with the white reindeer, and read this: “For the Sámi, white reindeer have extra special meanings. They believe they have magical powers. In fact, the Sámi believe if you catch a white reindeer, you will be blessed with wealth, luck, and happiness. In other stories, a great white reindeer created the world.”
Great as usual! Like synd bara att du gör det så fort! Finns så mycket kvar för dig att upptäcka i Sverige och visa upp på youtube! Hoppas du hinner sakta ner när du kommer till Dalarna!
I'm glad the weather was finally kind to you Ryan, it was very much needed 👍We are getting some really awful weather here in Scotland also but I got a really nice day last Wednesday and made the most of it with a stunning 70 mile ride👌I hope you and Mike have a fantastic ride together, can't wait to see the next episode👍
Such a lovely idea to hook up with Mike.Have seen some of his videos. Comes across as a nice, humble guy, who appreciates adventure as much as you appear to.
Love your videos Ryan. You kind of motivated me to start bike packing as well. Did East to West coast USA as my first trip in 2022. Took me 2 months but best experience of my life. Next trip will be Japan. for 4 weeks. Thank you for motivating me and thank you for getting me a new Hobby
Guess you showed those mosquitos. Now two of my favorite bike touring you tubers are together. This will be awesome. Glad you had some good weather. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
'What a difference a day makes'. My dad used to say that. He died when I was an early teen, but I do recall him saying that - among other things. He used to also say that 'tomorrow is another day'. I just recall it as being very hopeful. I really enjoyed this video Ryan. I have been enjoying this series very much. Thank you!
Love your riding in Sweden. Hating those skitters too though. They love me too my friend. Have safe travels and excellent views. Love ya Ryan. Take care buddy.
9:29 I was a snowmaker about 20 miles (as the crow flies west) from your hometown. That is a very large pile of manmade snow that doesn't look very well maintained for skiing. I would bet a beer that the snow pile is the community's water reservoir for the summer. It could be for crop irrigation and/or drinking water. And if it's not against the local law, I bet people make turns on that snow until it melts.
Enjoying this series Ryan. Interesting to see just like you did Mike's now using a bike with straight bars rather than drops.Might try that myself. Stay safe you two.
This is how it is - without bad/negative we wouldn't know how to appreciate good/positive :) So thanks to the rainy weather the sunny weather became even more enjoyable :)
So happy to see this today! Ryan you have such a positive energy. You show us all how to just live in the moment , appreciate what is around us and connect with other people on this planet. Love your channel so much😊
Your story about the bumble bees reminded me of my first word in French and the circumstances that lead it. Pleasant memories. Beurre D'arachide, by the way.
Glad to see the sun come out Ryan! That was getting hard to watch you suffer during all that rain while all the other cycling RUclipsrs were enjoying the summer sunshine 🌞
Great to see you do a tour in Europe! I didn’t know the European Divide yet…looks like a great experience! I also follow Mike’s channel, both of you are very inspiring and makes me want to go biking 🚴 Did part of the NC500 in april this year, a great route and a beautiful adventure!
Man I can't wait to see when you finally enter the southern half of Sweden, specifically Västra Götaland. Been loving this adventure so far and I look forward to seeing more! Maybe bring John and Mira next time!
Amazing!
I live in the northeast and do a lot of canoe trips in Canada. Man, when the mosquitoes are bad like I saw in your video, it drives me absolutely crazy! I was surprised how few mosquitoes there were on the GDMBR in Alberta and BC. I highly recommend riding that section for a future trip. It was by far my favorite part of the entire route. Tons of great singletrack, and amazing scenery! Loving your videos as I sit here in Denver waiting for my connecting flight home. ❤
@@duzer Thanks Duzer! BTW, I sang a few Ole’s on my trip in your honor 🤓. Thanks for the inspiration! I would not have made it happen without the inspiration from you, Iohan, and John and Mira.
Ur the man bro my son and I love this also the tree's left behind in the clearings are called leave tree's its for birds to nest and hunt the clear cut from a perch up high

I spent quite a bit of time in Denmark and it reminded me of being in rural Minnesota.
How do you like my singing? Should I try out for American Idol?? 😂😂 Also, Follow Bike Touring Mike here youtube.com/@BikeTouringMike
yes please. But only if u sing "Oh Boy":P
If someone wrote an opera where the main part was belting out Ole Ole Ole I think you'd be perfect for the role
You really do help your viewers maintain a sense of faith in humanity when you meet these locals in Sweden, Mexico, Africa, or wherever you are.
I've learned that there's a lot of good people all over the world, and meeting them is my favorite part of traveling. Looks like you're Australian...I need to go there someday!

The world is ready for more BIKE TOURING MIKE!!
Great to see two legendary long distance spokesman cranking out some miles together.
Very much looking forward to your point of view too Mike. What a team!
me2. Love how the mood improves with a little less rain and a little less mosquito torment. That's how it is in the north.
So awesome seeing yall two meet up. Two of my fav bike packers.
Hearing a man from Colorado riding trough the norther wild singing a Peps Persson song is not something I knew I needed to hear until today!
Haha!! Love Peps
Can only attest to this. That was amazing. I'm gonna sing peps tomorrow returning to work after 8 wks off. Your swedish is on point Ryan!
