Looks like that tool is for fuzzy things like rugs and carpets. It probably doesn't work well on those tightly woven things like your sofa and cat tower, because the hair doesn't get caught as much down into threads. Those things should vacuum up pretty well, I would think. But the carpet and rugs are something else. The pet hair gets down beneath the fibers so that vacuums aren't able to such all that up. I might try this tool for my carpet.
I agree that it doesn't work on tweed & most clothing. It does work great on smooth material like jeans. It's fabulous for area rugs too & works great on my cat tree. It just depends on the fabric. I was absolutely WOW'ed when I cleaned my lounging chair. Two of my friends have purchased it after seeing mine work. Much more convenient than dragging out the vacuum.
Thanks for the honest review. I just saw the insta video and decided to do my own research. You sounded like me "i didn't do *as much* research"... How many times have i done that 🤦♀️
Hi, thanks for posting this. A friend gave me one and honestly, it works great for me. I have 3 dogs that shed ALOT and its the only thing that will get up all the hair from the rugs, my sofa, and even the fleece blanket on my bed! I've been using it for a few months and so far it hasn't damaged anything. As you point out, I think yours may be defective.
They have not changed the design, only the handle from wood to what appears to be plastic. When looking up the product details there was no description. They have also added more products
Omg I just had to comment and say around 5 minutes in the video when you started using it on your couch, I was like “oh that material is similar to mine!” And then I saw your pillows too and realized we got the same couch! 🤣😂thanks for the review I was so close to buying this and now I know not to trust it.
I was a sucker and I bought it and it really doesn't work that good. I got something from Amazon which works better in my opinion. It's just a traditional lint thing, I don't know what it's called but it's definitely better than this thing that I bought. I actually bought this uproot lint cleaner for my daughter's blanket and I noticed that after I went on it a couple of times it started snagging the blank so I said. Nope. Nope. Nope. I understand you're supposed to hold it up at a perfect 90° but come on blankets wrinkle underneath you so it's just not worth it. *I bought it because we have a cat*
Girl just thank you for the review, I found that nubby rubber glove gets in corners and edges but definitely after washing it so it's grippy. I've tried so much stuff all piled in my laundry room, only clean rubber nubby things work for me and on clothes it's hard to pull then taut enough with stretching. Anyways thanks again, personally I appreciate your time
Thank you so much! This is the exact info I wanted about this product. I want it for area rugs like the ones it worked well on, so I'll just make sure to keep it specifically for them.
I've got the chom chom and it's labor intensive as heck. One couch cushion in and I'm exhausted. I been brushing my dogs more often outside and that's made the biggest difference but I would want something for my clothes, like you. After hearing it snag across your couch, no day I'm wrecking my nice clothes with it either. Thanks darlin. My dogs brush (FURMINATOR i think its called) after I wash it actually worked on my couch pillows better that anything else, just clean rubber nubs.
Thank you so much!! I just got this today and thought it would pick up hair and stuff but I don’t see it doing anything… I might give it to someone who has cats. PS - cute kitty!!❤
Hi thank you for this honest video, I really enjoyed seeing you show us all sorts of surfaces haha I’m sure some of them were hard to film 😂 It seems like yours has the messed up “nicks” on one side cuz you flipped to the other side for certain angles, and the sound was less severe? Just a curious observation that may help you use half the product 🙈 so much yikes. I’m curious if/how you clean it? Doesn’t it get dusty or dirty? Thanks!😊
So I'd seen a video that someone else did hers was doing the same thing she realized the teeth were to sharp so she filed them and it worked perfect after that
Thank you so much, I don't have a lot of expendable income so I really try to make sure things are worth purchasing. I saw the Insta ad too. And here I am lol. You are so awesome
In the instructional video, it shows that you need to vary the angle to control the intensity of how it pulls. 90 has less pull than 45 degrees. Is that your experience?
I’ll be completely honest, at times it worked well but it was depending on the fabric. I think due to it having a defective issue along both sides it wouldn’t matter how I held it. On carpet it was great but that was it! Have you purchased it? If so please let me know how it worked for you! Otherwise, continue to do your research. It not expensive but who wants to throw away money. Also, one thing I noticed when doing my own research (after the fact 😒). Other people ppl experienced the same issue I had with their lint cleaner and it having a defect causing it to pull/damage items. Also, their lint cleaner (like mine) was not clean and visibly appeared dirty. I didn’t put that detail in the video and I wish I had after the fact, especially seeing other people having the same issue as me. That was a big red flag that I brushed off.
It's basically a 'saw' with a lame cover. No good! You could use a hand saw to ruin your stuff too. Great on carpet too until it eventually destroys that as well!! It's not just pulling up the hair, it's also removing the fibers of your items that you can't get back! No thanks!! Thanks for your video!
Oh man. I’ve been wanting one since Christmas and now I’m having doubts 🤨 I don’t use Instagram so I never saw that specific ad, but it’s always in my FB feed as “Uproot Clean.” I’m wondering if it is the same set of scammers that made “Lint Rolled.” It has nearly all 5 star reviews and even videos of it working really well for customers in the comments on FB so I’m super confused. When trying to find it cheaper on Amazon, I’d just ended up coming across a bunch of counterfeit ones that were tagged as Uproot Clean but distributed from companies located in other countries. Their Facebook page claims they ship from the US and I know Amazon is just a third party vendor so I’m always a bit weary when using things like Amazon, but it almost seems like the company had no luck selling them on IG or got so much bad feedback that they changed the name and are now trying to sell them on Facebook but I could be wrong. I think you should try it because hers must be defective. Mine works great & 2 of my friends have purchased it after seeing mine work. It's not good on most clothing, great of smooth material like jeans. My sofa is a nubby material & I can't use it on the sofa at all, but it's great on my lounging chair I have 2 cats!!
I think you’re using it wrong. The videos in their ad show the person using short, light, quick strokes. It looks like you’re pressing hard and using long, slow strokes.
Well it works... if you want to damage your furniture. That’s a pass for me. I’ll stick to the sticky lint rollers. I swear my dog is part husky 🙄. Thanks for sharing.
@@SephoraWhite1 I go through the sheets quickly. I have a Lily brush that I use to detail my car. Works fantastic!!! Thinking of buying another type from that company for my living room rug.
Sephora, you read everything about the product EXCEPT THE DIRECTIONS. You should have been holding it straight up (90 degrees) on the more delicate fabrics and it wouldn't have caught at all. It's only fair you make a 'Part 2' or do a 'Re-Review' and show a test where you use it correctly. It would be a disservice if you didn't. I believe you when you say you want to show honest reviews & that you didn't purposely mean to mislead anyone. This thing cost me $30 on sale and is a peice of junk. It "works" i guess, like crap though. The ridges on mine were also "nicked up" looking. Don't buy this junk. And the dragging sound, its like dragging finger nails on a chalkboard.
I don't understand why you didn't order a replacement lint puller? When folks review products, they usually test 4 or 5 of them, especially when the first one appears to have a defect - which you mentioned several times. Also, you might have illustrated the 45-degree and the 90-degree angles on each of the surfaces, to show how much or how little pet hair is collected under each method. And your usage seemed to press down quite hard on most of the surfaces. So I'm not sure that your 1-unit review is actually the most reliable. It seems that the 500+ actual reviews with photos on the website are good testimonials. Instead of 'throwing your hair puller into the trash', did you consider returning it to the company and requesting a replacement?
This video is almost a year old and one of my first reviews. Everyone does things differently and I didn’t need multiple, this is why I purchased the one. I’m not a product review channel but I wanted to talk about my experience. My initial reaction to this product (not recorded) was lack luster due to it being defective and dirty. Since I didn’t fall in love with the product I had no intention on reaching out for a replacement. Had I known I could of returned it, I would have done so. After recording my review I did come across other people who encountered the same issues I did. Thank you for watching and providing your feedback, it is appreciated!
Lol saban got me geeked. Honey, imagine having to use a product that can only be used on certain fabrics and have to have STRICT instructions in order for it to work somewhat. I’d rather get another product and give this one a terrible review as well if what saban said was even remotely true. Hey saban, send me a video of you using this product? I wanna see have truthful you REALLY are. Sounds alittle fishy and hater like to me🥴
Your video title says uproot but you’re using a bootleg version and giving uproot a bad name. Buy the original brand and give it a second review. That’s messed up.
You are giving WRONG information to everybody here. You are holding it incorrectly. It should be 90 degrees. Before you do a review, please do your research and read the instruction? You should redo your video with the correct way of holding that hair removal.
You didn’t give an honest review! It literally tells you what not to use it on, and you used it on it. In the world we live in, that’s misinformation. You said you did research, if in fact you did you would have seen the instructions say not to use it on those fabrics.
My rule of thumb: never trust products advertised on social media at face value. Glad to see reviews of how this actually works in practice.
I just ordered that thing from Amazon but I didn’t know it was popular. I hope it works.😊
Never trust a video review with an affiliate link

I wanna see have truthful you REALLY are. Sounds alittle fishy and hater like to me🥴
NEXT SABAN, NEXT
Thanks for watching ❤️
@@SephoraWhite1 thank you for reviewing! I would’ve got this product and wasted my money. Gotta keep looking !!
What a cheap piece of garbage good honest review at least
Your video title says uproot but you’re using a bootleg version and giving uproot a bad name. Buy the original brand and give it a second review. That’s messed up.
Not sure where you got the idea I purchased a “bootleg version”. I ordered the product directly from Uproots site.
You are giving WRONG information to everybody here. You are holding it incorrectly. It should be 90 degrees. Before you do a review, please do your research and read the instruction? You should redo your video with the correct way of holding that hair removal.
Thank’s for watching!
It's junk, not worth it.
I hat to say it but yea it really is🤦🏽♀️
You didn’t give an honest review! It literally tells you what not to use it on, and you used it on it. In the world we live in, that’s misinformation. You said you did research, if in fact you did you would have seen the instructions say not to use it on those fabrics.
Thanks for watching 😉
That cat tower is not a knitted fabric. 😂
