On February 11, 2015, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Chuck D did a live interview and Q&A session at the Rock Hall where he shared how Public Enemy and thrash metal band Anthrax decided they "we're going to go for the fucking jugular of doubt" in response to fans and critics who didn't think rap and heavy metal would work together on record or on stage.

As someone who saw anthrax and Public Enemy back in the 80's on this tour (as a fan of them both) it was probably one of the greatest gigs I've been to. Anthrax are my fav metal band but I was screaming "public enemy" at the end of the night where they hyping each band up after bring the noise. . You don't realise it at the time but you are in a moment of history, I'll never forget it. I have so many great memories. PE and Anthrax for life lol 😊

Think about this for a second: you could’ve been born in so many different years and eras, yet somehow you managed to be alive in a time where you got to witness people like this do their thing. This song will forever have a special place in my heart. I blasted it through my tiny-ass stereo in my room at my parents’ house as a 10-year old; now I’m closing in on 30, and I still listen to it every single time I’m in the gym working out.
Thank you forever to Chuckie D, Mr Flav, and all the Anthrax boys. You guys did something special, and we love you for that.

attempting , hell they were there. give them credit for being stand up and brining the noise WITH Anthrax. throwing the stereotypes out the window and tearing shit up. i dont agree with a fair amount of what Chuck, d's ideals are but I'll go to war alongside of him because he would go to war along side of me. principles even if not agreed on are principles. you got em or you dont. people with principles will sit down with each other and hash it out because they have principles.

This was at the end of Public Enemy's Apocalypse 91, the enemy strikes black album. The first time I was listening to the CD was in my old Volkswagen bug. I had two 10-in kickers in the back. Anthrax and Public Enemy gave those things a serious workout. I definitely had a holy shit moment. Such an energizing song.

First of all I did not agree with Louis farrakhan's philosophy whatsoever but some of the truth is in some of that and Chuck Berry flavor Flav the public enemy as a whole was a great rap group anthrax is also one of my favorites and that was a great time for music true words were never spoken the late 80s and 90s brought some of the best music to this day

You got that right? You’re two bands killed it .. fortunately, before you and Antrax were doing that the beastie boys opened the door for you to do the rap and metal mix before eve n Aerosmith and run and Run DMC with Aerosmith they should’ve been the first
Hip-hop or rap band indoctrinated into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame .. did change the world. But I think it’s really cool indoctrinated, Hall of Fame. They basically outlived every hip-hop or rap band . Until they lost the band member not too bad for some white boys from New Jersey.
