Amazing. That elbow attack Pelé did in the face of the uruguaian player was a response to another attack from that same player against Pelé, in the 1970 world cup. For us here in Brazil Pelé was the greatest player of all time because he was complete (he kicked with his two feet, he defended well, he dominated the ball amazingly, he dribled very well...) and he scored more than 1000 goals in his carrer for Santos, the brazilian team and NY Cosmos. The player who scored the most goals in a game is not a good way to measure, because the leagues are not as evenly competitive like the NBA is. That record is held by a striker named Manzizila that scored 21 goals in a game for Swedish 7th division, but it's hard to compare that to Wilt's records because of the level of competition.
Pelé once scored 8 goals in game, which is a lot, the most Messi ever scored in a game is 5, for example.

Pelé debuted for the Brazil team at the age of 17 at the 1958 world cup, he was one of his top scorers, scoring two goals in the final. By a draw he ended up with shirt number 10 and there was created the mystic that the best player of each team should wear 10. The height of Pelé's career was in the 60s and in 1970 he played his last tournament for Brazil being the only three-time world cup player to date at the age of 29 retired from the national team and a year later retired from football. In the mid-1970s a group of American businessmen convinced Pelé to abandon his retirement to help popularize football in the United States, so he played two more years for NY Cosmos before leaving football definitively at the age of 34.

Pelé won his 1st World Cup in 1958 when he was 17, he won his 3rd one in 1970.
You can't compare stats like you do in the NBA because unlike basketball (or other American sports), you got 100s of leagues around the world. Plus the game was very different in the 60s, it's not like today where you expect every top player in the world to be playing in one of the top European leagues, international transfers weren't that common.
Two other players to check out are Garrincha - played with Pelé but had a lot problems, yet in some ways was an even crazier genius. The other is Maradona. Pelé was the GOAT in the 60s, Maradona was the GOAT in the 80s

Right Pele has the most unofficial goals: 1283
But most official goals list is:
    1. Josef Bican - 805 goals
    2. Romario - 772 goals
    3. Pele - 767 goals
    4. Cristiano Ronaldo - 758 goals
    .. 7. Messi - 731 goals
of the top 10 only messi and ronaldo are still active players

Guys. Please. Pelé is to Association Football what Mohammed Ali is to boxing, (note the tense of the verb “to be”). Literally. Then you have the rest. All the rest. Ah, Pelé still alive. He won 3 world cups, in three different decades. 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Played in only two teams. Santos and New York Cosmos and with a pure leather heavy ball unlike the prima donnas of today that play with a pillow. Often scored with his head ( unlike mr Messi, Ronaldo or Ronaldinho) and the rest of his body. Hence the reason he is called King Pelé.

Whats up brothers? Brazil has majority of black people in our population. Pele is living legend! The intro is showing Brazil''s important cities - Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and São Paulo.
Pelé was a black dude from countryside who moves to shoreline city of Santos and become a legend - not only for his skills and claimed to be the REAL GOAT but the dude played soccer which was a white predominant sport and shut up everybody. Dude stopped war, brought soccer to USA, won 3 WORLD FOOTBALL CUPS. ..

He was the youngest ever World Cup winner at 17. You should watch the 1970 Brazil Word Cup team (inc Pele) and the 1982 Brazil World Cup team (they didnt win but were the best team) In terms of old school legends
Johan Cruyff is a must (plyd for Holland)
    Diego Maradona (Argentina)
    Zico (Brazil)
    Michel Platini (France)

I hope you guys realized by now that the Brazilian players are sauciest ones. Pele was the one who`s started with changing the way of playing football, he was playing differently from all the other players at the time, specially compared to the Europeans, before it was all about straight and cold good passes and scoring goals. Brazilians changed the way football is played. Btw, I saw you guys asking in the videos but Pele, Neymar, Ronaldo Nazare, Ronaldinho, Robinho are all brazilians. There is a famous saying that became famous in the football world, "joga bonito" which means "play beautifully" in portuguese, that came up because the way brazilians play football.
