The good old times. Tanks were really beefy and ADCs were really dishing out pain.
Old Tanks have 200 armor 2000hp but deals less damage. Now tanks have 150armor 150 mr 3000hp combos you and deletes you.

Seeing the Enemy Ping in the loading screen was just Magical because the slowest person ALLWAYS got shit trown their way
yea it was great teambuilding with the enemy players. But honestly, the loading bars were so nice to have. I was always the one with the slow computer and when I found someone with even slower computer, I was delighted
I think it was rekless who said when miky was on the game people would go and make coffee because his game didn't load up fast .

@@Piddel Man mana potions were the good stuff. Honestly I would love for them to come back. You just had to choose between more health potions or few mana potions if your champ was mana hungry and they all were

For the Faker Ryu fight, both Shens had their ult up and could've helped.
ryu's shen thought the fight was unlosable and faker's shen thought the fight was unwinnable is my guess.

I remember when supports stared with 6 items: mana and health potions, green wards, a pink ward, a ward that could be seen and had 1 hp and a cookie. Old runes were fun and customizable, not like the ones we currently have :/
But old runes were pain in the ass to buy and collect them all + you had to buy pages too and even for me who started at the beginning of s4 or mid s3 i couldn’t collect enough IP (blue essence) to buy them…
@@Futuran123 there I wanted to say mastery points, but runes also gave you the opportunity to adapt better to your environment, if you wanted to be hard to kill in early, you could go flat runes and you could choose how much mr or armor/hp wanted. Besides that, it's true that you had limited options with fewer rune pages, maybe if you could swap them in champ select, and if they were free, I would love them to come back.
Sadly, Riot is going to stick with this bland runes that don't allow player expression :/
@@marcomg2000 are you talking about masteries maybe? Old runes were just plain stats unchangable before every match. Now you can adapt them in real time depending on the comp of the enemy team and your playstyle. I hardly think anyone will agree with you that the old way of spending IP to buy a static stat page was more "fun" and "allowed player expression" rather than these flashy new ones that all have their own little animations and uses.
@@marsa9828 new runes serve the purpose of old mastery pages. Old runes sucked ass because they were expensive, you normally would not have many rune pages and you could not change the runes in your rune pages in champion select.
Now, if they were free, you had a good amount of rune pages for free, and if you could swap runes in champion select, then you would have more room to adapt to your opponent, and you could improve the stats your champion lacks of.
Say for example you play corki against galio. Galio is not a threat for corki in early game, so you could build hp and magic resistance per level, so when you reach your powerspike you will be much more resistant than at level 1-6 with flat runes. Since you are not going to fight in early game you had the choice to sacrifice your early to be much stronger in late, with the "stat runes" we have now you just go AS, dmg and MR, you cant even get some life steal against a poking champion.
@@marcomg2000 the description was unnecessary, i played the game too back then. of course i respect your opinion but i think it's wrong. the transition from old runes/masteries to new runes made the game better. making the old runes free/giving free pages/making them customizable wouldn't change how mindnumbingly boring such a system is.

Runes where if you have full ad runes you can reach 110ad at lvl 1 with fiora.

Pink wards.
Poppy will ult the support and tank all the damage.
5man smites lvl 1 kill dragon. Only supports buy wards.

A single 1% crit rune
Been playing since Season 2 and I felt the weight of my age.
I remember really starting to lose interest around the juggernaut update a while back. All of a sudden tanky champions were one-shotting squishies and lived at the top of the damage charts. Every since then it's been a slow slide into overloaded kits. I don't know why each champion needs to be able to do everything...champions used to have clear strengths and weaknesses and I think that is okay. But Riot is intentionally making sure that champions do not have innate strengths and weaknesses, the idea being you can outplay the enemy on any champion.
I think the combat the need to rely on teammates to fulfill certain roles. I agree juggernaut era was awful, especially for me a mage player.
I remember when the “old victory screen” was the new victory screen 😭
Old Twisted Treeline had a maze up in the top where it was pure chaos because of the number of bushes there were.
You could make custom teams with teamnames and play ranked. Our team was called 'Pepare your Anus' and once we versed 'Please Be Gentle' :')
"Promote" Summoner Spell was the Banner Of Command (expired)/Hullbreaker equivalent and if you played well with your team, you can promote waves like crazy and out-macro players.
Karthus Revive + Ulti was a thing so Karthus would cause chaos after dying and then revive to finish off anyone he couldnt finish beforehand.
Zyra's Passive used to be a plant on death that had one projectile and would do a hefty amount of true damage.
Elo rating was the primary measurement of skill so people wouldn't refer to their Rank as gold but rather a 4 digit number, I think some people still ask for people's elo but just mean rank.
Team builder....let's not talk about that.
Jungle camp and summoner timers had to be written in chat as well, similar to ss and re.
High elo was a very small and toxic community and was extremely competitive as there was no Master Tier at the time. Only Diamond 1 and then Challenger.
When dodging was a thing, the text "dodge!" would appear instead of "0" for damage. Jax with Ninja Tabis....would extremely annoying as all you see is 1000 "dodge!"s appear on the screen as you get beaten into the ground.
Then there's the main ones like philo stone, heart of gold etc the lovely gp10 items. AP Master Yi, drake giving gold only etc
One item worth mentioning is Atma's Impaler which is what Titanic Hydra is now (sort of) Health to AD item.
Blue Buff and Red Buff used to give you these funky books circling you. Baron would give some purple spikey thing circling around you, I never really knew what it was meant to be.
I've been playing since beta. Jesus. I think my fav fun fact is that runes and masteries were separate. Masteries were 3 pages, you got 1 point per level, and a very common spread was 21/9 or 21/4/5 because they all had a key ability you got with 21 points. Runes also used to be purchased through ip, I still remember a teemo page that I built purely for 50 magic pen after 2 items

Promote and surge were also some really fun summoner spells to use, personally used surge for toplane and promote when I was support.
Also in the very start people often just played where they wanted, especially in lower levels.
Could often play vs support and adc mid while apc was top and tank bot or sometimes tank + support mid.
I also remember playing movement speed poppy with revive, I would engage and often get a kill before I died, then revive and run back and get another kill or just help team pushing for the win if the team fight was over already.

I really miss both mana potions and being able to see who has what ping it made it so much better to know who to dodge next game.
Also I would kill just to get domination back in the game
Another thing you used to be able to do was use the arrow keys on the victory screen to explore the map. Now you can’t move it, all you can do is go to post game chat.

Statue of Karthus used to have a high pitch Eagle sound when you spammed your dance, and this was also globally heard. I abused this all game every game LOL
I play league for almost 11 whole years...this game kept me company when things were hard or just boring...
Today I feel so betrayed from Riot because that game who once asked from me to struggle and learn techniques and strategies in order to be a better player and to be Victorious,now asks me to shut up and pick the most broken champion of all so that i can have just a chance to win a game or JUST HAVE FUN and not get oneshoted by Vex,Samira,and all these new and stupid champions and items...
I feel so bad for this outcome and i really hope that one day maybe Riot releases the old League back,just for the people that made it famous and believed in it and supported it....
Thanks for reminding me the old client,the old long time teamfights (not teamfights that end in a sec) and those old summoner spells right from Dominion Map.
As a Veteran a sent my regards to all those Veterans out there who still miss old League and still carry that hope of things changing for the best of experience and not for fucking EMOTES and FLEXING scores....

My favourite aspect of old league was runes, new ones are cool, they are like additional abillities, but with old ones you had actually more options to play your own way. Yea, you needed to acquire them and you had to make your pages before a game, but it also made your acc more yours, now it doesn't really matter on what acc you play.
Full armor penetration runes (you could have 24 or something like that) on Pantheon was so awsome, Q was point and click and it had 4 or 5 sec cooldown, so in 20 seconds you could make your enemy back or simply get a firstblood xD No one was expecting this.
I also liked full crit chance trynda, got somewhere between 50-70% crit lvl 1 which is hard to beat
Fun fact: the SS thing you say when your opponent is missing actually means stay safe. It used to come with the term MIA, which is missing in action

That katarina brought back one of the best memories I have EVER HAD. Sadly my friend isnt here anymore. But its been soo much fun playing this game for 11 years. ouff

I remember back then during the times when the game was not as one-shotty as it currently is. In one game, I was playing Xin Zhao, versing against a Rengar in a 1v1 in jungle. The fight lasted close to a minute as we lifesteal the hell out of each other. I ultimately lost at the end but holy hell I miss things like that. Good old times.

Just a smol correction: Professional games were played in Draft pick normally, but only Game 5 was played in Blind pick, for the reason that everyone could bring their best champ/comp, without having them banned away

ZHONYA'S RING - built from 2 needlessly large rods (or maybe a blasting wand) was an item pretty much the same as the nowadays deathcap BUT also gave the stasis active (hourglass)

I always thought AP = Attack Power and AD = Ability Damage when I started playing LoL. Took me about half a year to get used to AP as abiltiy power and AD as attack damage
Being able to see ping was so fun, man. You load in and there's one guy on 95 ping and you just camp him all game. Freelo.
The "unskilled player" report option could really help some people to vent, and it could be in there but just don't do anything.
I literally reported my entire team with this on every loss.

I remember when you had to level to get your different masteries and so while leveling occasionally you would have a level 21 v level 18 in lane and the level 21 would legit just have more stats and options for play than the level 18.

I remember when I would play top blitz or galio. I'd grab fortify and just laugh as people died trying to take my tower. Old galio ult with fortify was unbeatable.
I vaguely remember a memory back in the day. I was playing against bots (yea even tho I stated playing like around season 2 I never played ranked till season 6 which is quite weird I too dont know why). I was playing katarina, ah the good old katarina btw, and had the sum spell revive. We were losing (yes losing against bots lol) and at that point and time I had to do perform a do-it or lose-it play. I calculated it all, had to risk it all and thus I managed to display the cleverest outplay one could imagine. I went bot lane to defend the inhib tower. That heroic feeling intensified, I closed my eyes and let the spirits guide me. All ined the unwanted guest. Barely killed malzahar and let myself to die SO THAT I COULD REVIVE AND RUSH THROUGH TOP LANE WITH THAT MS BOOST FROM REVIVE. I WASTED NO TIME AND PRESSED THAT GAME-CHANGING BUTTON. D! IMMEDIATELLY CAME BACK TO LIFE AND BOLTED TO TOP LANE TO SAVE MY WHOLE RACE.
I ended up dying to cho'gath... And lost the game Yea the outcome wasnt the brightest but the idea was enough to make me remember that play to this day. Ik its literally the worst play ever but back then I used to be proud with this very moment and used to tell this tale to my middle-school friends

u forgot about the ''respect order pick thing'' and the when ppl would unironicly build ad on ap champs bcs it was hard to last hit and dont start me on jungling back in the day where u would share the exp if someone was near u

I've played with Udyr and Morello when they were still around. There are many little things players don't know about that us beta players remember and still work to this day.
Like invisible ping. You don't have the right to spam ping at ALL unless you can invisible ping. Get a couple people invisible pinging and it looks like broken chat. Hold the alt button on your keyboard and CLICK (do not hit base button on keyboard) on the base/back icon while holding alt down. Ta-da! Invisible pings. The more harmful ones I will keep to myself lol. Get a friend doing it with you and it looks like you're chatting to each other invisibly.

Actually, talking about old baron, i dunno have u ever talked about it before in your videos, but there were days, when some champions (like old poppy) was able to move baron outside the baron pit. And u actually was able to kill baron with freaking turrets. That was insane :D

Removed Items
Sword of the Occult / Leviathan / Mejai were all stack on kill items which gave a bonus upon getting max stacks.
Leviathan gave % damage reduction and was removed first for being overpowered.
Sword of the Occult was reworked into a "get 3 crits" item for a bit then removed.
The only armor pen in the game (outside of overpowered last whisper) was The Brutalizer which cost 1337 gold.
All the original gold generation items.

You forgot that health potion can stack up to 9 per slots
"kaspermygind" said it in season 4 or earlier, and NO ONE listened, he was made a fool and was mocked but his words still cut better then the sharpest blade and hit harder then a hammer
as a season 2 player.....this was a trip down memory lane.
I have 1 for you, you used to be able to smite shack boxes, and an extension of that was when red smite was added there was a bug where red smite could be used against trynd when he ults to make him kill able even if he just activated a second ago
fun fact: Dark star Jhin recall SFX use to global, so yeah if Jhin recall you use to be able to hear him saying his usual recall voice, and well Riot remove it because its felt like a pay to lose skins because you would be able to hear when Jhin recall.

I remember when there wasn't any role selection so it was a god damn free for all of survival of the fittest. Whoever got first pick to being third pick will always have their role.
"Mid or feed , or River shen" were both very good options as well!
I remember when ppl are creating strategies for typing roles faster the good times and it would be nice surprise if two players weren't fighting for the mid
@@skelet8337 I remember when jumping in blind pick or Dominion to get the new champion, what you would do is go on customs. Select your champion you want then back out. Then when you jump into blind pick the champ would already be auto hovered so all you had to do was just lock in and you had the champion.
8:00 WOW, I did not know that was two zeds. I always thought Faker was on Zed vs a Kass, because that is the other champion with circular landing short range teleports.

I also remember when we could see everyone's elo border in loading screen, now we cant even prepare ourselves to fight a diamond or something, it's just a surprise who will snowball
