The way he holds it is so that it is very perpendicular to the strings. It helps with the upstrokes. Playing guitar is not healthy for the bones in your hand and wrist. He holds the pick like that so that there is less strain during the upstrokes. Unless you are talking about how his fingers are closed. That's just something he does for comfort.

And they have a signature tone and particular way to play the guitar. And I think Gates has a very characterystical form to play, and maybe when he reaches 40 years old he will be one of the best ones!

in my opinion, yes, this guy plays guitar very well, this guy doing arpeggios and harmonic taps in splicing is amazing, maybe you guys are accustomed to the sound of Steve Vai, and when it comes to heavy metal feel a lot of noise ... reviews constructive criticism are great now negative leads nowhere
@boggyman168 Well i depends on which argument your going for. On technical skill few beat syn (jimmy hendrix, eric clapton, etc.). On other catagories syn may not be the best but I still rank him top 40 for mostly everything. Overall, hes always a top 20. Personally synyster is my favorite guitar player.
