The way he holds it is so that it is very perpendicular to the strings. It helps with the upstrokes. Playing guitar is not healthy for the bones in your hand and wrist. He holds the pick like that so that there is less strain during the upstrokes. Unless you are talking about how his fingers are closed. That's just something he does for comfort.

in my opinion, yes, this guy plays guitar very well, this guy doing arpeggios and harmonic taps in splicing is amazing, maybe you guys are accustomed to the sound of Steve Vai, and when it comes to heavy metal feel a lot of noise ... reviews constructive criticism are great now negative leads nowhere

But that is because it fits a genre - They innovated with Beast & the Harlot by having the solo after the first chorus and verse.They appeal to their audience, and in my opinion, Synyster Gates is a real good guitarist - and intelligent, he makes a lot of money by giving fans what they want ! Awesome tone. Ever since he took out one of the invaders it hasn't sounded as good IMO, though he still has a great tone.
