      Try that the other way, Roam’s tent looks like this one. 😉

    I like how the front pops up a to give more leg room.

    We looked at these at the Expo. Very nice tent! I think they are going to be seen on a lot of rigs.

    There is a mattress upgrade option from 4x4 Colorado (branded CloudComfort) and it is virtually identical in construction to the Exped Megamat...just a lot less expensive. I have it and it is supremely comfortable.

      Yeah! I just used it on a recent trip! So glad they figured that out!

      Great i gotta stop by their store in Denver this summer and pick one up.

    This summer, I got similar RTT. The raising front part is what sold me. With the iKamper mattress (mine is 47’’), almost like sleeping at home.

    I won’t buy a wedge without the foot box plus that window is appreciated

    this tent is a lot heavier than the broncos stated 110 dynamic load rating? Does the rack you installed help mitigate that weight since it looks like its mounted in 3 different locations?

    • @JustinBMcBride
      @JustinBMcBride  3 месяца назад +1

      According to TrailRax, yes. However, I still ran my Superlite from GFC after testing this tent out of fear of cracking the fragile Bronco hard top.

    @justin do you still have a discount code for 4x4colorado? I just tried the one in the video, but it did not work.

    • @JustinBMcBride
      @JustinBMcBride  2 месяца назад

      Nope. They told me that since Black Friday the tents have been on a permanent discount. Kind of a weird way to do it, I mean, just set the new price then? Right?

    Justin, you're uniquely qualified to answer this question. I bought a GFC RTT off of your recommendation. Do you think the build quality is on par with GFC? I really like the extra features this comes with, and the seemingly more sensible layout. Would you buy this over a GFC?

    • @van_mod1
      @van_mod1 11 месяцев назад +1

      Not trying to speak for Justin, but I do a lot of work with GFC owners and from my perspective, this is a much better tent. That said, it is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison as the GFC has a modular mattress designed for access from inside the truck bed. Not possible with the Nimbus. Condensation is a very real issue with the GFC tent and the Nimbus has addressed this perfectly with the way the doors, screening and vents are constructed...plus it has an integrated rain/sun awning. If mine ever gets delivered, I'll be able to do a first-hand review on my channel.

    @3:46 "screens on the outside of the windows, as they should be" is something GFC missed big time unfortunately.

    Great review! This seems to check all the boxes for sure. Just curious, any issues with the fabric getting pinched in the front hinges?

    hey m8 any chance you know the measurement of the toe box? i sleep on a queen at home and at 6"3 i take up the whole bed but unsure if my flipper feet at size 14 are to tall in the toe box and am a backsleeper. been wanting a wedge but come across this issue on all, thanks m8 awesome review!

    I am an odd ball. I enjoy sleeping in my wedge roof top tent with my head towards the wedge hahah. I am short tho at 5'6. I like laying there and being able to look out the windows so if my feet were towards the wedge part I would have nothing to look at 🤣

    You mentioned the Exped mattress and I was curious what size you utilized. I have a Hest Dualy which is 50" wide. It doesn't looks like it would fit since the Nimbus appears to be rated to 49". I am wondering if there is enough give in the tent that my Dualy would still work?

    • @JustinBMcBride
      @JustinBMcBride  8 месяцев назад

      Since making this video they have made their own version of an Exped that fits around the hinges! It’s well worth it.

  • @underabigsky

    170lbs! Forget about it. That’s crazy!

    • @underabigsky
      @underabigsky Год назад +1

      A Ursa Minor is what 150 lbs over the stock roof on a JLU but w tent? The weight is insane! If I get one definitely going to drop all my water, extra fuel, a 10lbs propane tank up there. I find 250 lbs the minimum weight ideal on my JLU’s roof. It just balances out so nicely.
      Not seeing much this product brings to an already saturated market.

      The small CVT Mt Hood, closest in size to this, is 190 lbs - this tent's definitely interesting!

    • @van_mod1
      @van_mod1 11 месяцев назад +1

      I like to think that the weight comes from extra burly aluminum extrusion construction which definitely helps if you are thinking about hanging stuff off the extrusions (like I will be).

      Yes! The stock bars are flat enough to work with it.

      It’s honestly the best bang for buck rtt with the quality and features that it has. Plus at the time it was the first of its kind until other companies have started to copy it. But they still charge more than 4x4 Colorado. So in comparison it’s worth it
