We have been crazy about his music and style as well, since the first time we heard his song on radio in early 60, from Move It, Summer Holiday, Vision, All My Love to present time. As the time passed by my wish was fulfilled again, I had been to London in 1999, I can't find any words to say how I got happy for short stay in london. What a wonderful interview. There are many more great songs in Cliff's catalogue that are never heard: 'Cant take the hurt anymore' for example, a beautiful ballad from the 1978 album 'Green Light'. Best albums if you're just discovering Cliff: 'Something's Going On' (2004), 'Cliff Richard The Album' (1993), 'Real As I Wanna Be' (1998) and there are so many more...
I agree these are all great albums, but HeathCliff 'Live' is definitely the best album for songs and performances, though it's nowhere Near as good as the HeathCliff and The Making of HeathCliff DVD's. Amen...It is YOUR success that is predictable. I don't even think people who say your predictable as being a 'put down' because anything they say will never 'put you down' or bring you down and that's because Your success is predictably successful.
I live in America and I didn't know until today that you were singing at a young age. I had a song on an album that music came upon RUclips and the group you had are guitar heroes. You're still good looking man. Elvis is dead, Michael Jackson is dead, you're still here. I love your music.
Dear Cliff! I barely understand what they were talking about, I just mean they were talking about records. But it’s so good to see you and I’m so glad you’re in the right color to look good, and this simple plaid shirt is so good for you too !! I was wondering if we will meet this yet in life ever, sometime ??? I do not know. But it's also good to see you that way at least ...
It's really lovely to see Sir Cliff getting respect from a young interviewer. This wasn't always the case in the past. Yes. John Lennon certainly knew who else was 'cool', including Sir Cliff and it was lovely of him to recognize that. Lennon had great taste. Good on Sir Cliff for, through sometimes some incredible odds, is still gracious and amazing. He deserves every bit of respect he gets. Arohanui and kia kaha to him from New Zealand. 🙂❤👍🌷🌻🌸🌺🌿
Siempre desde adolescente ha sido y será lo más hermoso una gran voz la mejor para mi seria lo más importante verlo y poder decirle que lo admiro y lo Estimo su gran admiradora Ma Dolores Real por siempre ❤❤❤
It would be great if Cliff did a tour or at least a show of half-forgotten songs like "Joanna". There are lots of great songs to choose from. "Love Is The Strongest Emotion", "Little Mistreater", "Real As I Wanna Be", "Butterfly Kisses" etc., why not revive them?
Top interview. Cliff loves it when people are interested in his music. I would recommend several albums to check out the mains ones would be the three Bruce Welch produced I'm Nearly Famous, Every Face Tells A Story and Green Light and the ones Alan Tarney produced I'm No Hero, Wired For Sound and Always Guaranteed the most important early album was Me And My Shadows and of the fan favourites of this millenium are Somethings Goin' On, Soulcious and Rise Up. He didn't mention that he also lost Olivia Newton-John as a backing singer. He usually tells a funny story about her getting too much attention on stage so he put her behind a piano and then put the lid up when he came on stage so no one could see her. He did it for a laugh not to end her career. He gave he a regular spot on his TV show in 1971 and it was all uphill from there for her and she returned the favour when it came to singing Suddenly on the Xanadu soundtrack which is one of my all time favourite recordings.
Shame when asked to name some 'deep cuts', Cliff didn't elaborate on anything from his golden period (for me at least) with the Shads - 1958-64 especially. But I must admit 'We Don't Talk Anymore' merits special mention from his post-Shadows career.
Really enjoyed your Cliff Richard’s interview, but it always disappoints me that the British seldom give Eric Clapton the recognition he deserves. It as though you are afraid too because he speaks his mind and doesn’t just go along with the crowd. He is certainly one of the foremost English musicians.
There was a Higher Power protecting Cliff Richard from entering the American music marketplace. I call it a marketplace because that's what it was and still is because it's always about money. There is zero doubt in my mind that if the US music powers that be felt they could make boatloads of bread off of Cliff, they would have done it in a NY second. The Higher Power had a better plan though. Cliff was protected from that happening in the late 50s and early 60s by Elvis being the iconic big money maker. He then was protected by the advent of Beatlemania. However, by the late 60s early 70s there was *absolutely no excuse* for failing to promote him in the states, aside from market financial viability. His pop songs like Sing a Song of Freedom, Sunny Honey Girl, Just Another Guy, Power to All Our Friends and many, many more were hits material. I'm American, I would have bought his UK recordings here in the states. Cliff, without a doubt had what it took to be as loved in 1970s America as Bee Gees, Bread, Carpenters, John Denver, Osmonds, Tom Jones, etc. extraordinary talent, looks, charisma, stage presence, on and on into the next decades. But, for that Divine intervention... The "problem" was he was not in his teens nor his early twenties which meant no longevity as a teen idol. He was a professing Christian appearing with the Rev. Billy Graham. Even though he looked fantastic, in the American shallow mind of celebrity and money making he was on the decline by the mid 70s-as was superstar John Denver. Ageism remains a rampant problem in the American entertainment business. Sex sells, youth sells. Cliff was undoubtedly sexy and undeniably youthful but his sex appeal was negated by his wholesomeness and his faith, according to the biased and dodgy standards of the American entertainment world. Olivia Newton-John was wholesome but she was a woman. Her blonde angelic beauty was highly marketable which meant longevity; she was quite young when she was discovered by the American market. Women were expected to be pristine in America at that time. Men had to be sex, drugs, and rock & roll dogs or there was no deal (unless someone had a cousin up the chain...) that double standard was glaring. By the late 1970s the Osmonds were building their own recording studios in Utah to appeal to their Mormon fans. The wholesome brothers knew their time was up. The US money hungry record execs didn't want files on a clean living, 30 something, UK Christian singer who they could not financially manipulate in a massive way. They were aware that Cliff was a seasoned, mature performer with a huge UK backing; they couldn't hoodwink him as they did the young ones (no pun). I've used the term protected because I believe IMO he was Divinely protected from the sewer that is the American celebrity scene. The American business model is known for chewing people up and spitting them out where money is concerned. They will sell out their granny if a sawbuck can be made. And then call it American grit. The recording industry in the USA at that time was no different. It's always been a grotty business. Cliff dodged a bullet, thanks be to God who sometimes hides the best away for Himself. Song of Solomon 2:14 “O my dove, [here] in the clefts in the rock, In the sheltered and secret place of the steep pathway, Let me see your face, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your face is lovely.” Meaning, Christians believe Christ is the Lover of our souls and the Church is His bride. He keeps us hidden and protected from harm. This interview is the finest I've seen so far. Well done Tom and Sir Cliff.

Amen...It is YOUR success that is predictable. I don't even think people who say your predictable as being a 'put down' because anything they say will never 'put you down' or bring you down and that's because Your success is predictably successful.
Great entertainment sir cliff love Jan xxxxx
The John Lennon quote was about Elvis, before Elvis there was nothing. Good interview. Cliff is a cool guy.
I live in America and I didn't know until today that you were singing at a young age. I had a song on an album that music came upon RUclips and the group you had are guitar heroes. You're still good looking man.
Elvis is dead, Michael Jackson is dead, you're still here. I love your music.
Thank you sharing.
He looks very distinguished with his grey hair. I love it.
You are right! I love it too.
Doing another tour clever you are love Jan xxxxx
Love you cliff xxxxx
Make me happy sir cliff love Jan xxxxx
It's really lovely to see Sir Cliff getting respect from a young interviewer. This wasn't always the case in the past. Yes. John Lennon certainly knew who else was 'cool', including Sir Cliff and it was lovely of him to recognize that. Lennon had great taste. Good on Sir Cliff for, through sometimes some incredible odds, is still gracious and amazing. He deserves every bit of respect he gets. Arohanui and kia kaha to him from New Zealand. 🙂❤👍🌷🌻🌸🌺🌿
What a fascinating insight into the music industry today and in the past. Good interviewer and fabulous interviewee, of course!

Where do you get the energy from love Jan xxxxx
You have done this and achieved love Jan xxxxx
Glad he mentioned Dickie Pride, the Sheik of shake.
❤
Christ Jesus & Sir Cliff 💞🙏🎶
Really enjoyed your Cliff Richard’s interview, but it always disappoints me that the British seldom give Eric Clapton the recognition he deserves. It as though you are afraid too because he speaks his mind and doesn’t just go along with the crowd. He is certainly one of the foremost English musicians.
Great interview. Danny bakers review of his autobiography is pretty funny
Great interview, Cliff is a British legend, doesn't get enough recognition. How do you manage to get in touch with all these people! haha
what a lovely mega talented man.
I’m surprised Soulicious wasn’t a success i thought it was superb
I like Cliff just has his shirt without a vest over it.
Yes he looks very casual fashion.
I wish I could meet you ❤❤❤

Cliff Richard was great, despite the shallowness of the interviewer. There was no direction to this interview......other than "wow, you are still around!" Whatever information that was new and interesting came from Cliff on his own. I hope Cliff, at 80, has at least one more hit.
Talking bollocks!!!!
Tim was superb, never seen Cliff so relaxed when being interviewed.
You missed the point.
The interviewer avoided pre set questions, let Cliff open up at his own place, and went with the flow.
Superb interviw.
He should look into Patreon :-)
Established 1958 was the most forgettable Album
Now l only knew that he is not an American
He is asian pl
He is not all he appears to be. 🤔
Cliff has never been a rock star....hes a pop singer with a huge ego thats all.
Who the hell buys Cliff Richards new music?? Devil Woman etc decent but on the whole absolute tripe and you know im right
@@lindam.6782 its easy to get a top 5 record these days.
Ok that's it.....Cliff has gone senile. 8 notes in an octave?! Last I checked there were 12 notes so which hymn sheet is "he" singin' fae these days?
Please check your facts Leeshin
There are only 8 notes in an octave. Only if you add the half tone steps in the scale, you can count 13 tones. But 12 ist definitely wrong.
Clue is in the word- Oct =8
Cliff wating for his own name on a mixtape.i love me love cliff
