I have been saying that Alonso isn't much more than Dave Kingman since early 2023. I think Vientos can eventually hit .250 with 35 HRs. Over 600 at bats, that's 18 additional hits. What if he can hit .275? We would know so much more about Vientos now if Stearns hadn't signed Martinez. That 12 million could have been used to add another reliever to our overtaxed bullpen.
Diaz is not Diaz anymore. He's lost 4 to 6 mph on his fastball. This gives hitters more time to read his slider.
Baty may not be able to hit MLB pitching, or he be like Mike Schmidt and start hitting after 650 or 700 at bats.

Yankees have a great string of players coming up. Position players and pitching. Will they actually play the young guys is the question. I think Dominguez and Spencer Jones are so good they’ll force their hands. Warren and Hampton could easily be starters next season right next to Gil.

Im a Mess Fan ( yes Mess not Mets) and im 100% with Tierney. McNeil as they both said is a No brainer, Pete is declining not improving, the HR’s will be there but who wants Shwarber ? Thats ridiculous. Lindor never was an MVP never will be and Ordonez was a better SS and no one expected offense. Jimenez is way better and the Mess let him go. Nimmo isn’t good, in LA, Philly, ATL or many othets Nimmo is a 7,8,9. He’s an over achieving hussle guy that doesn’t do anything special. Diaz is spoiled goods. Those Narcos trumpets need to be turned off… its actually embarrassing now. Mets keep Baty as a “ high prospect “ yet they let go of Armstrong who has more Dawg in him then these soft prospects. Alvarez is the real deal… perhaps Scott turns out as legitimate. Thats all this team has.

341 million for Lindor is absolutely ridiculous.
There is only two or three players in the Majors worth that type of money.
    Ohtani, Acuna and possibly Soto.
That is is it. Not even Aaron Judge in my opinion is worth that type of money.
