  • Daikon radishes (萝卜) are white radishes often used in Chinese cooking.
    Today I will teach you to a new way of cooking daikon radishes. The main
    procedure will be deep frying them until golden brown.
    INGREDIENTS:
    Dried Shiitake Mushrooms - 100g
    Celery - 50g
    White Radish - 500g
    Salt - 2 tbsp
    Ground Pork - 200g
    Minced Garlic - 1tbsp
    Brown Sugar- 2 tsp
    Salt - 1 tsp
    Cornstarch - 4 tbsp
    Abalone Sauce - 1 tbsp
    Cooking Oil
    Chinese Cabbage- 300g
    Light Soy Sauce - tbsp
    PROCEDURE:
    1. Soak the dried shiitake mushrooms in hot water
    2. Chop the fresh celery into tiny pieces
    3. Peel and grate the white radish, add salt and squeeze it.
    4. Add the chopped celery, ground pork, minced garlic, brown sugar, salt, cornstarch, chopped soaked shiitake mushrooms and abalone sauce.
    5. Use your hand to form a ball like shape
    6. Fry the radish balls until golden brown
    7. In a pan, arrange the Chinese cabbage and put on top the fried radish meatballs
    8. Then add the used water in soaking the shiitake mushrooms.
    9. Add 2 tablespoon of dissolve cornstarch
    10. Season with light soy sauce and cook for 5 minutes.
