1950 Isle of Man TT | Race Prep and Practice

Seeing as the 2020 Isle of Man TT races weren't meant to be, we thought we'd put on a nostalgia-fest of archive footage over the coming fortnight, featuring great TT moments and on-bike action throughout the event's rich history. To mark what would have been the start of practice week this year, we take a look back to the 1950 TT, showing the teams and riders fine tuning their machines after early morning practice and test sessions at Jurby airfield.

A whole lot of money invested and involved, but the majority was in the bikes, not now like the constant in ur face advertising and behind the scenes marketing. I believe the best times for everything has passed, we’re living in a world now where nothing is genuine and new, it’s simply sad recreations of past glory, with bad interpretations. The money side of things is the reason for things being ruined, they stop doing things if they think for a second it won’t profit.
Back then it was love for motorcycles in the purest of form, money be damned.
