True, everybody has rhythm. Just pick up an instrument and play. You will find so much joy. My percussion instruments are like my therapy. They have helped me through some very hard times. Percussion is a wonderful thing. Victor Hugo put it this way, music expresses that which cannot be put into words, and that which cannot remain
I threw my shekere one night! Lights 🌃 were all atmospheric..dancefloor was packed! I spun it up in the air...ceiling was lower than I had anticipated! 🤣 It came.flyin' back down at me...bits of ceiling tile and dust raining from the sky. Aaah....the memories 🤗
That'll flawless when you can do 4 different things on percussion at the same time..she is and will always be my favorite! I'm a man and she beats alot of them they just don't want to give her props because she's a woman! Who in the world said that women can't play drums it's not a man's instrument! Smile 😊
I'm going to purchase my son drums, he's going to be a drummer I do believe, if not he's going to get a chance if it doesn't work. I'm going to let him watch this. He's always using his hands to tap on something... Theres got to be something to this.
You are correct Dena, if he's tapping stuff out to music he has something within him. For too many years I did the same but really just 'appreciated' drums - especially the Congas and Bongos - but never figured I could play them - that was what other people did, not me. Two years ago I bought my first pair of Bongos ay 61 years of age and now I'm kicking myself for all the lost years.
Actually, I think it was Billy Cobham. Billy was living in the SF Bay Area at the time and he produced and played drum on Pete And Sheila's first album. I have a copy and saw them perform a concert. This was in the later '70s and around the same time Billy Cobham was playing with George Duke.
WOW the GuitarCenterTv channel has their facts WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY wrong. Discovered by Prince? Come on people you are a professional musicians marketplace. get your intern who writes the blurbs here to do a LITTLE fact check eh? Out of respect to Sheila E's amazing talent at least.
