    Thank you so much for the tutorial. I especially liked the way you added the two beads for the herringbone bail and securing it by going back through it on both sides. I also like the way you beaded the back for a nice finished toutch. I have so many 8 mm chatons that I didn't know what to do with, now I do and will get started.

    When starting out and learning the technique, I found that if I leave the 2nd and 3rd round a little loose (not real loose, just enough so that it will fit around the larger edge of the chaton.) then it is much easier to get the Chaton in the middle and get it to stay. Once I got to the 4th round that is when I tighten it up with the smaller size 15 beads.. I also tightened up when I was putting on the round with the small bicones. Makes it much easier to get the stone in the middle and to hold it there.

    I’ve only bezeled with delicas before, but I’ll have to try it with seed beads - it’s a pretty look.
    I like your chat with us/catch up on life videos. I understand that different people like different things, but if *you* like chatting with us, then you can put that in the title and the people who only want tutorials, can skip it. The reason I’m recommending that you put it in the title, is so that they don’t have anything to complain about. I hope that makes sense.
    Anyway, this is a really pretty pendant and it’s a different look with the seed beads surrounding it. Thank you for sharing!! 💜

      Aren't delicas seed beads too? I realize that some seed beads are irregular in size. And some have good consistency with each bead but when I shop for them they all come under seed beads. I get so confused!

    • @StitchesbySharonH
      @StitchesbySharonH 3 года назад +1

      @@debbiecobb5757 Delica beads are different than seed beads. Some people do categorize all of the small beads as seed beads, but seed beads are rounded and the delica beads are more tube shaped and flat. When you put delica beads together, they lay flat and even next to each other. It’s a shame I can’t share an image on here, but if you Google “what’s the difference between seed beads and delicas,” you should find websites with pictures and that will definitely make it more clear for you to understand. I hope this was somewhat helpful!

    Very pretty! I tried bead weaving once, my beads made it very very hard for me to learn, I didn't realize that seed beads have so many different ones to choose. I understand the sizes but not the different way they are made. I had some seed beads that were thicker than others. I tried one other kind and that was a nightmare, they just didn't look right. I gave up and made chokers! I guess I thought a seed bead was a seed bead. Different names but the same! I just may give it another try someday. Thank you Luisa for teaching us how to do this project.

      Yes Debbie. The seed bead world can be a little daunting! There are so many different kinds. My best advice is to stick with Japanese seed beads (Toho & Miyuki) if you need precision such as in bezeling crystals. Czech seed beads are nice but not as uniform but still look good depending on your design. 🙂🌺🌸🌼

    Just for future reference, as you're adding on the first row of 1500 seed beads you don't have to pull that row tight right away you can at least get those beads on all the way around then you can put your shirt on in then you pull it tight so that row was somewhat hold it into place so you're not holding it with your thumb every time it does make it a little easier. Just thought that might help for future reference

    • @MistyMoonDesigns
      @MistyMoonDesigns  3 года назад +1

      Funny...that actually doesn’t work for me. 🙂 I guess everyone is different. I find it easier to add a bead and pull the thread as I go along while holding onto the Chaton. If I pull the thread later, after I’ve added 15/0s, even if I don’t finish the round, the Chaton doesn’t stay in as well. I guess we all have our special methods. 🌸🌺🌼

    Hi Misty. Thank you so much for this very easy bezel video. Do you happen to have video for bezeling 10x14mm cushion cut stone (not rivolis) These are oval shaped. I’m having a difficult time finding the correct number of rows of 11/0 VS 15/0. I get an excess of room on the back so the beads don’t lay flat. I’ve been trying to find a video for that particular cut and shape. Thank you.

    • @MistyMoonDesigns
      @MistyMoonDesigns  Год назад +1

      Hi Jodi. Unfortunately I don’t have a video for that type of bead. But let me research. I think if you use the reduction method by downsizing with 15/0s, you’ll eventually achieve it. There’s definitely a lot of trial and error 🙂

    What is the difference between toho, miuki, czech glass or regular seed beads and which is good doing what and why? Ive looked for answers and cant really get a straight answer. And is the higher the number the smaller they are or bigger?

    • @MistyMoonDesigns
      @MistyMoonDesigns  3 года назад +4

      It’s a vast subject because there are so many different kinds and they all serve different purposes. Sometimes people use a specific bead for aesthetics and sometimes for function. But the subject is huge. In general the bigger the number, the smaller the bead. Japanese and Czech are different...Japanese are more consistent in size and shape. Here’s a good website with lots of information: www.bigbeadlittlebead.com/guides_and_information/seed_beads_guide.php 🌺🌸🌼

    • @MistyMoonDesigns
      @MistyMoonDesigns  3 года назад

      Good question. You would need to use different amounts of beads and maybe use 15/0 seed beads only. It took me quite awhile to figure out the pattern. I recommend you string a few and see how they fit. It’s trial and error but eventually you should be able to figure it out. Although I think a 6mm chaton is a little too small. 🌸🌼🌺
