Apart from the inner transformation route, we have tried everything else. What I am proposing for us to ponder on is that climate crisis and consumer capitalism are one and the same thing. And unless all of them are treated together, the climate part just cannot be taken care of. We do not know who we are. We do not know what we are here for. Therefore we endlessly consume. We procreate, we live meaningless lives. We will have to realize that the climate catastrophe is nothing but the sickness of our personality coming out in the open. For far too long has it remained concealed. Every bit of action irising from ignorance is carbon intensive. If you do not have a real purpose to live for, then you will live out of your whims, emotions, fancies and they all have a huge carbon footprint. You do not know what to do in life, you will produce a lot of kids. We have philosophies that have no space for compassion. We do not want to look inwards. We do not want to know what should be the right relationship between man and the world he inhabits. And that's why we are living in an absolutely awkward way. Our lives are bizarre and they are producing a lot of gas.

The problem lies with the "hustle culture" and the fractured value system of human society that imparts this money mindedness. Pushing everyone towards the goal of making money at any cost, but what not everyone is aware of is the evil money brings. More money means more desire for consumption, more demand for consumption means more production of goods and services, more production means more exploitation of nature and natural resources. The "hustle" is beautiful only if it is not entirely premised upon selfness rather, on selflessness of the hustler, living a life full of actions for contributing towards humanity and not just purposelessly earning money. As Gandhi once quoted "there is enough for one's need but not for one's greed". Also, so rightfully said by acharya ji in one of his videos that we all shall be taught to desert "भोगवादी मूल्य"
