    Hi, Try some long stick pins in the holes of the blocks to secure them on some foam then tighten your line. To blue or blacken the brass parts, put them on a sheet of metal and use a torch or lighter under the metal plate. Looks really good Alex.

    Here I still am in my sofa, at 03.53 night my time, having binge watched all videos that you have uploaded of this build so far. I still can't sleep after a crappy day, but at least I enjoy watching you build. **thumbs up** ☺

    Great Video. I am currently building the Beagle from Occre. I am using 2 jigs to get correct height on the deadeyes, then taking of the ratlines and rap twin above the deadeye on my workbench. It works easier and less messy with glue. I finish like you on top with a simple knot. I know this is an extra step in the process. Like you the Beagle is my first building experience with wooden model ships. learning step by step by trail and error.

    You videos are very educational, just bought the Essex. Question? when at the rigging stage, how do you know what length to cut the threads to start the rigging. Looking at the instructions, it shows mm but not sure if I should cut longer for tying & cutting. Any info appreciated.

    Hello Alex, I also did the construction step with the rigging on the bowsprit today. I noticed that you made a mistake. The rope that comes on the outside of the anchors is not held by the rod below the bowsprit, but is attached directly to the mast. I had to look several times before I noticed it. maybe you can change it. The front rope on the lower bar is also only attached once and not twice.

    Hi Alex. Dennis from Sachse, Tx USA here. The more I watch your Albatros video the more I appreciate your work! WTG!
    I do have a question about some rigging on the foremast. The 1to1 scale directions only shows one block at the top of the mast. Color photos shows three. How did you tie them? Did you wrap a line and glue and then lash the lines together. Like what's done when starting the rope ladders. What kind of knot or how did you tie all three at the same spot without making it looked clumped together. The Albatross is my first build too.

    • @AlexModeling
      @AlexModeling  Год назад +1

      I tried to glue them the best way i could! 👍👍😊 Regarding the knots i explain it on a vídeo can t remember what.. stay safe

      @dennistrue6473 Год назад

      I also drew your diagram. I followed it closely The individual lines came out much better than I expected thanks to you!! When adding the individual line used for steps. I followed John Aliprantis's video. Santisima Trinidad - part 64 Tying Ratlines & Anchors. If you will use a much smaller line when rigging steps. The ratlines have a much cleaner look. I asked John about using bees wax. He said he used it one time. Cut all the waxed lines off and restrung. The lines are much easier to handle. They are also a dust magnet. Thanks to you and Aliprantis my Albatros is coming along nicely. What are you building now? @@AlexModeling

    Hello Alex, another very nice and insightful video. You put the rigging around the mast at 31.20 in your video. Did you read that somewhere or did it yourself? I'm in the process of doing it too, but I wanted to run the ropes from right to left over the mast, which would also make it easier to moor the spinsters.

    I’m at roughly the same stage on my Albatross build. I’ve had many frustrations building it but have learned so much. It’s an ideal model for new builders to learn the basics and I must admit, I love this little boat! I do have one question for you. In the Occre plastic box kit which has all the non wooden pieces for the boat, I am puzzled over where two small metal pieces fit in to the ship. If you orient the plastic box kit such that the compartment containing all the gold nails is at the top left looking down at it, then the two metal pieces in question are located in the compartment directly to the right of the one with the nails. The same compartment contains gold wire rings as well. I’ve gone over the plans several times but I don’t see where these two small metal pieces are used. They kind of look like funnels for lack of a better word. I was wondering if you might know? Thanks in advance for any assistance and for all your videos on the build as well.
