- DART's Silver Line train sets are getting their early testing done along the TRE corridor. These trains are Stadler FLIRT DMUs, like the ones used by TEXRail The testing basically consists of making sure everything on the train functions the way it should. Testing is taking place on Sundays, I'm not sure when testing will end. Over the past weeks of testing, the train sets have been tested on different parts of the TRE line, and in this video, they were being tested from CentrePort to West Perkins, just west of Medical Market Center station. Testing takes place from after 10am to around 6pm.
They took out the 907 set, ran from CentrePort to Perkins, then back to CentrePort and back to the TRE yard. About an hour later they took out the 905 and did the same thing. These weren't so hard to chase as they weren't going so fast and were stopping at some points.
As soon as the track work from DFW Airport to Addison is done, testing should begin to take place there, not sure when, and when more track gets finished from Addison all the way to Plano, they should continue testing along the whole route. The Silver Line will run on the ex Cotton Belt Route between DFW Airport Terminal B, pass Coppell, Carrollton, Addison, far North Dallas, Richardson, and Plano.
Thanks for watching!
