Yep! The backs are possibly my favourites, it's a hard toss up between the purple & dark mansion cloud backs 😆
They’re both so beautiful! I enjoyed how you did the side by side comparison- it was so much easier to see the cards that had very subtle changes when paired this way. I would have liked to see more of a difference in the court cards but I thought it was a thoughtful addition to add softness in the Queen of Swords (something you picked up on immediately!💕) Thanks a ton for sharing this… I’m eagerly awaiting my copy … hopefully that will be soon… in the meantime it was great getting to see it in full 💕💕💕
I'm a lover of the swords suit, I like to see them being understood, after all swords/air signs take time to contemplate the nuances of others 🤓♊️💎 blind unboxings are always tricky. Afterwards, shuffling and warming up the deck, I have a feeling the original will now spend more time on the shelf, and this one will take preference. I hope yours arrives soon 💛🌞🌻🌻

I'm a big fan of the original Moonchild deck so I really appreciated this comparison. It's interesting how with the cards that have not changed, some have been mirrored while others have not. The mirrored effect would be cool if you were working with both decks and pulled the same card. I do wonder why that was not consistent...
Pretty much the only critiques I ever heard about the first Moonchild was the lack of maturity with the Queens and Kings. And the cards being too thick and large. I understand keeping the cards the same so that people can use them together. But I have to say, it feels like a missed opportunity not to update the Courts. I do love that the King of Swords is her partner but now that they are no longer in there 20s it would have been so cool to have had him pose again. We've all grown up since the first edition. The older I get the more jarring it feels. Anyway, just my opinion.
They're both such beautiful decks and Danielle Noel is incredibly talented. My favourite new card is the Five of Pentacles WOW. Overall I like the shadow version but I think I'll hold off for awhile. Thanks again for this video, I just subscribed.

You make an excellent point about the courts, I wonder if its because I'm forever 21, that I don't ever see the lack of aging. You definitely got me thinking about what I never see as an external mirror with decks.
As the wind currently blows, I prefer the shadow edition, who knows about tomorrow 🌻💛

I have the first edition Moonchild and I do really like this second edition, most of the changes I do actually like. Another one for the wish list 🥰💖

I don't have either but really appreciated this comparison. I prefer the original Moonchild and have been hoping it would go mass market in France like her Starchild did, since the MM cards are smaller.
The size is a issue for my hands too, I try to remember to shuffle upright, but I honestly prefer landscape. It's my jam as I'm concentrating on the question at hand. 🌞🌻

Definitely keep an eye out in sellers groups, I used to see the 1st deck coming up a lot, I left the groups a while ago to help my poor wallet. I shall see how I get on, it would be tempting to combine favs into a single deck. Good luck with your timeline 💛🌞🌻

Much appreciated, thank you Toni - I have nearly hit 'buy' and resisted more times than I can count 😆mostly because I didn't know how much new insight the guidebook would bring in terms of shadow work. I will likely cave eventually, but for now I think my original Moonchild does a good enough job 🤔 - also I really liked your insight on the interpretation of the 10 of Swords xxx

@tarottarantulas I haven't studied them word for word, you can see formatting is different, so this may indicate nuances in the main text. The introduction pages are different, more moon information in the shadow edition.
Geez im more confused now than when we started. I love parts of both but both decks have pros and cons on energy for me.
I can see that. Sorry it didn't make it an easy choice for you. The shadow edition is my preference when I'm grabbing so far to date.
