I love converting the skeptics... :D For astrology, too. I always say you can choose not to believe in the weather, but it's gonna happen anyway. Same with tarot and astrology^^. Very much here for the X files mention as well.
I’m still at the stage where even though I’ve been practicing tarot for about 5 years now, I still can’t quite say I believe. It’s like I have a mental block, especially when reading for myself. On the rare occasions when I read for others, it seems to go SO much better. I’ve done some pretty amazing readings that aaaaaalmost convince me. But then my brain goes “nah, ignore that, don’t be silly”. Its such a struggle 😅
I totally feel you, I still feel like that so often! I definitely know what you mean with it being easier when reading for other people, I think our brains are so good at doubting ourselves when we’re just on our own.
I believe in tarot because in 1985 I got a deck called tarot of the cat people and the next day my parents won 243 million dollars in the lottery and to this day I’m set for life
It’s surprisingly hard isn’t it?! Thinking myself back into my pre-tarot brain to try and pinpoint moments/decks was a real challenge. If you come up with answers I’ll be so excited to hear them!
I loved watching this and loved how your husband engaged with the task at hand! I had never seen most of those decks and I was surprised by that! My goodness, Decedent dreams is beautiful
The one person I read for didn't give me any indicator on how I did and I also was like "You know that's for them to sit on, I'm just the reader here" Although I still have a long way to go, I feel like all my readings are very by-the-book and I'm slowly starting to think outside the box. I get nervous to practice or even do my own readings though, I see so much advice like "DON'T do xyz you're being a BAD reader", or just on the basis that I don't really know other believers (Or people who want to be) But whenever I do my own readings and they hit so hard it reminds me why I do this and why I want to invest so much time learning. Which bridges onto my own answer, what made me start believing is when I came to the cards with sincere struggles and they were just back-to-back showing me full understanding and keywords that matched. In a specific example I was doing a new year pull with the goddess Bast and pleaded for the safety of my family and friends and the oracle I pulled said "You and your loved ones are safe". Just about every time I use tarot/oracle with her, the ones I need to hear most are the ones that show up. You know, I think in one of my pulls that made me believe in tarot was actually a Celtic cross I did. Just every card was like "Check this out" and resonated so deeply, it was chilling Great video, it's always nice to hear your thoughts!
@EclecticPupil ahh yeh that can be so dissatisfying, but you’re right, that’s for them to work with, we did our bit! Boo tomatoes to anyone who makes up silly rules about what makes a good/bad tarot reader! Some of the best readings I’ve done I’ve consulted a number of books to fully flesh out the context and get all the juicy details. Tarot can have so many possible layers to dig through, but it can also be quick and to the point, it’s entirely up to you and how you want to do it in the moment. I’m so glad tarot (and Bast) were able to give you the support you needed, even if it can feel a little weird when readings are so on the nose! Thank you for being here.
This was fun to watch - I love that one of your decks is a classic RWS. I imagine not many others would say that's one they began believing in tarot by! Interesting concept seeing people's names in the cards - definitely something I'll take into consideration next time I'm reading 😊 Thank you for sharing this!
@sincerelyshannadee thank you so much for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! That’s so interesting, I hadn’t thought about the RWS being an unusual choice but maybe it’s so ubiquitous now that it’s harder for folk to make that really personal connection. I definitely recommend looking out for funny little personal details in readings, it can be so interesting when they pop up!
Hey, Imogen! I LOVE your background! Did you paint it?? I loved hearing your "belief" stories, especially how you started noticing the patterns between the cards and the seekers' names. I've never thought to look for that, but it's so on-the-nose that I bet the meaning has been conveyed through that before to me and I've never caught it. I've been eyeballing Tarot of the Divine. Its artwork is so stunning. 💖 I also felt like my video ended up being not only decks that made me believe in Tarot but decks that made me believe in myself as a reader, too. ☺️ It's so cool to me how when we begin to acknowledge our intuition, everything around us explodes with messaging. Thank you so much for responding!!! I enjoyed it. 🥰
@MoonflowerMoments Kaity! Thanks so much for watching and creating such an interesting tag! I loved seeing your decks and hearing your stories, I suppose as tarot readers it’s hard to separate our belief in tarot as a system and our skills to read it, it’s a very cool thing to think about and hear different people’s experiences! Thank you so much, yeh the background is one of my drawings on a vinyl placemat haha!

Oh I love that, yes absolutely!

Not in my case. I can only read for myself very accurately . I could never read for others. Not my thing anyway

That’s amazing! Tarot of the Cat People is a fab deck.

Thank you . I absolutely loved this video.🌻🌹🌻😘
Thank you so much for watching!
Loved watching this! I've been trying to think of my own but, of course, my mind has gone blank...

I feel like maybe this comment was meant for a different video, but I’m glad you enjoyed it!
My path to Tarot began with my knowledge of Hermetic philosophy.
@@czjmaster how fascinating!
Have you ever reached for that fake cup instead of your real one?
Not yet, but I’m sure it’ll happen soon!

That's a pretty memorable early experience, with the reading from your neighbour! It's awesome that you had such a personalised introduction to tarot.
@tyeconstellation yeh it feels very lucky and serendipitous to have had that door opened for me then, I’m so grateful to her!
