@Lisa Rose Yes, 22-years have passed since JORDAN won his 6th Title.
Basketball was not in its infancy in the JORDAN era. Basketball for over a hundred years.
There is also such a think as degradation.
New, modern is not necessarily better.- Bernard Hopkins at the age of 50 he became world champion and defeated young boxers.
Players from the 90s, even after they got older, still played at a star level in the era of Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan,
Kevin Garnett, T-MAC, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Dirk Nowitzki and Vince Carter.
      For example:
      *Karl Malone ( age 39 ) in the 2002/03 season: 20- 8- 4, FG-46%.*
      *John Stockton ( age 39 ) in the 2001/02 season:15- 4- 8, FG-51%.*
      *Gary Payton ( age 30-34 )- 4x All-star ( 2000-2003 ).*
      *3x All-Defensive First Team ( 2000-2002 ).*
      *Dikembe Mutombo ( age 35 )- Defensive Player of the Year ( 2001 ).*
      *3x All-star ( 2000-2002 ), 2x Rebounding Leader ( 2000, 2001 ).*
      2001 ECFR:
      *6"7 Reggie Miller ( age 35 )= 31-ppg. FG-45%. 3P-43%. FT-91%.*
35-years-old Reggie Miller ( SG ) outplayed Prime Allen Iverson ( SG ).
      2000 Playoffs:
Reggie Miller ( age 34 ) outplayed players like Ray Allen ( SG ), Allen Iverson ( SG ) and Kobe Bryant ( SG ).
      *7"1 Shaquille O"Neal ( Player from the 90s ) dominated the 2000s.*
      *Kevin Garnett ( 1995-1999 ), Rasheed Wallace ( 1995-1999 ), Michael Finley ( 1995-1999 ).*
      *Allen Iverson ( 1996-1999 ), Kobe Bryant ( 1996-1999 ), Ray Allen ( 1996-1999 ).*
      *Jason Kidd ( 1994-1999 ), Glenn Robinson ( 1994-1999 ), Jerry Stackhouse ( 1995-1999 ).*
All of these players played in the 90s. And none of them dominated the weak 90s.

They use to have summer league out here and we played a game of "21" with a few ppl.
Yes, *HE IS TALENTED AND QUICK* . I'm not dissing/invalidating anyones personal preferences but to act as if he didnt *CARRY THE BALL* at times is intellectually *DISHONEST* .
You cannot have such a *LONG PAUSE* in dribbling without it being illegal 😂. He was just so good at doing it, refs didnt want to stifle game play nor go against a rising star.
Most of the changes we've seen in the nba the last 25yrs were to promote *MORE OFFENSE*

6:02-6:05 love how MJ is controlling the ball bouncing it. I remember he's done sth like that even in much more difficult situation in the Finals against Sonics, diving for the ball against few opponents, completely off balance but still trying to bounce the ball and control it, so fundamental even in the most difficult situations on the court - simply unbelievable; 1 of many moments when you recognize the real GOAT of basketball.

One thing stands out like a sore thumb about this clip. Look how much tougher the league was. They didnt call a foul everytime someone gets breath blown on them. It's so lame and weak today

@@papito5ft6 dont know how you came up with that conclusion, but realize this. Watch the 80s and 90s games. Yes they was alot more aggressive and just plain violent. The disrespect and harshness was so the game. You can even watch some games, like example Bulls vs Knick 92 playoffs. And tell me one player from now, who could compete. Come back to me when you finish the videos.

The man brought a good taste for dribbling and crossovers as an attacking element.
how cool it was that this little man slipped through the defense, between two players...like a knife through butter. Perfect timing.
He was drawing lace on the site. True basketball art. And only then the system of fast dribbling, crossover and shooting was passed on to modern players. But Iverson is the beginning!
