Toyota knows how to build hybrid cars. The fact that millions of them are now on the road is enough to prove they are #1 for hybrids. We have 2 hybrids, a 2022 RAV 4 Prime (plug in ) and a 2020 Highlander Hybrid model LE AWD. My wife and I purchased a new 2010 Prius in 2009 and put over 180,000 miles on it. Three years ago we sold it to a friend who racked up 250,000 miles all on the original traction battery and 12 volt battery as well. A few months ago during a storm a tree fell on the prius in his driveway and it was totaled. He told us the car still started even though it was totaled.
It's a pity about the seats.. My EU-spec Corolla has electric adjustable lumbar support which makes the seats very comfortable. I agree about the road noise, that definitely could be better. I had my tires changed to, according to tests, a quite silent one; the Michelin Primacy 4+ XL. The noise reduction is significant. Apart from that, a perfect car to me :)
@4.35 i like the part about seamless unnoticeable gear changes.... :) i guess its because its a variator type gearbox that doesnt actually change gears in a tradiotional way.
I'm pretty sure the corollas from that time cannot just hold the lane, you need to keep your hands on the steering wheel and pay attention. If you don't, the car starts beeping at you pretty intensely. Adaptive cruise control and the lane keeping are related, but separate systems, and there are many cases where it can't keep track of the lane markers.
Basically there are no gears but only a stepless planetwheel system, so it's all software and electronics. Because of that you have a maintenance free ' gearbox ', although it's advised to change the E-CVT oil every 100.000 kilometers.
I have a 2020 toyota corolla xse and im approaching 150k miles i plan on replacing the transmission fluid and the coolant Everything else you said like oil change and tires were nothing But add on engine air filter and cabin air filter this is really a Great vehicle
Mine is european made (Turkey). The biggest flaw is the weak hood supporting structure. Takes a small pressure to damage beyond repair. Otherwise, it's a nice car.

If Toyota put in better seats this thing would be a road trip monster. I drove one on a 300 mile trip and it was way more fatiguing than it should have been.

it is the best all round car. yes not so comfortable but this is corolla not camry. can get after market seatbacks. perfect for city driving, start and stop hybrid excels.
I have this car, I manually calculate it, I average 52 mph on my commute. The more highway steady speed driving you do the better the mileage. City driving gets the worst, I don't understand how they say it gets better in the city, it does not.
@@AbidAli-bo8sv Most of the braking is done with the regenerative hybrid system, unless you slam on the brakes a lot. The only time the brake pads are applied are at the end of a stop when you're going too slow for the regen to work. Or when you slam on them really hard.
Probably the best break down of this car. lol also I think I your front left tire needs air. I’m reading that the factory windshield isn’t very tough so save up 200 to replace that in a couple of years.
YES The seats 💺 are terribly uncomfortable...(Front and the Rear - Especially on long trips) Dont get this because the Corolla is such a mile eating Monster 👻 And Toyota should have some expertise in seating... Noisy yes those are the 2 mayor disadvantages other than that Toyota 4 ever ❤
The last time I bought a car was in 1999. I have a 1999 Toyota Camry - 400K miles. I wonder the Corolla is the car for me? There is nothing wrong with the Camry, but I like the Corolla, Would I be better off with a Camry hybrid? By the way my '99 Camry is a 6 with a manual trans. I've never owned an automatic transmission car.
Get a Corolla only if you plan to do shorter trips, mostly on city, stop-and-go, or if you are on a budget. If you drive mostly on the highway, go for the Camry. Both are great. But the Corolla hybrid has better gas mileage on the city than highway.

Change the coolant every 3 years/ 30k miles and trans fluid every 30-60k will fo one million

The gear is so soft because it's a E-CVT gear, and Toyota is the leader in both hybrids and cvt transmissions

If they fix the seats and make the car more comfortable (noise deadening) it would be my number 1 choice always
it has been few months but insurance should be able to replace windshield for free only 1 a year tho

What injector cleaning?
