" EXIT THIS SIDE" makes more sense.

I think the reason for the minor software program update from "Doors Open" to "Exit this Side" is probably to better and effectively streamline how passengers are communicated while on the train(s) for smoother, better and positive customer experiences

The signage "Exit This Side" is more specific and clear, even to passengers who are not well-diverse as railfans and subway buffs.

The minor change in that coincide with of course the latest new R211 set to enter service.

This concept was copied from the Washington Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Some of its older railcars have the doors direction on the signs and the recorded voices announcing the doors opening position. It seems as though rapid transit system owners and managers learn from each other's methods and operations all over the world.

WMATA’s signs say DOORS OPENING with the chevrons to indicate direction. The EXIT THIS SIDE is not something WMATA has done.

@@orenhirsch5180 That is correct. At least New York City Transit knows that passengers (or customers) have various educational levels. I thank you for typing to me.

Other than the text, this isn't too much of a change. But interesting nevertheless.
