    Fish are looking real good. How much can you use on a tie in before it needs certifying. Plus where can you get the panels, I have 1.4kw but would like more. Just not using them to power anything other than batteries in my man cave, to tie in would be great

    • @boxtriker
      @boxtriker  2 года назад

      I will be going in to the what you can put in and what you cant but the electric people say not one single watt un certified so its a bit of a no no but the wiring your side of the meter is yours so splitting hairs you can do what you want your side of it i have not seen any report of anyone in trouble over it. As i only have 480w at the moment i never get to the point of pushing power back past the meter but I'm now adding 480w more so i can push power out if i wanted. The wiring control setup i have is a bit beyond me as a mate did the switching box's and he will sort the new 480w into it as well so both 480w panel banks will charge the battery bank i have and feed my ring day time giving me after sunset time i can run off the battery's and should they fall below a charge mark then take power from the main. This should give me most of the summer running full time off the panels and battery's and a good a mount of time the rest of the year. There is far more knowledgeable people out there on this stuff but battery storage is the way to go what you make save and use night time. heat your hot water with it day time electric heaters and so on its never worth putting it into the grid for the pay in tariff amount

      The power and fuel costs will start to hit everything. From now on everything is going to rocket in price to fill tank of fuel in a lorry has jumped over £170 more in 2 weeks its the end of the chain that takes the hit with a rise in cost on everything. Have a good weekend Oliver next week i take a look at saving £2000 on you koi pond sounds nuts but you can do it

    Hello Martyn, going to start the new 3-4 gallon pond soon, do most people usually keep all males in the pond so there is no spawning? Or what is best in your opinion.

    • @boxtriker
      @boxtriker  2 года назад +1

      Most of my fish are males but it don't matter either way they bash themselves around spawning but that's life if you have expensive fish then people tend to keep the girls but this can lead to problems as well as fish that don't spawn can become egg bound if the eggs are not reabsorbed by the female koi this is a problem that is more common than people think so i would go for a mix of boys/girls and brace yourself for the spawning its not bad when they are small but when they hit 60cm and over it can be a hand full on the day that you need to keep an eye on

    • @finadic570
      @finadic570 2 года назад +1

      @@boxtriker thanks for the info do you ever end up the small ones swimming around? I understand that they just end up eating the eggs, do you take them out some how, and is it best to run to skimmers fir when the mess the water up ?

    • @boxtriker
      @boxtriker  2 года назад +1

      So small ones yes i have fish that were born hear but in near 18 years only 3 fish from thousands you have to take the spawning brush's out leave them in the the rest of the koi eat the eggs. one of the born hear is over 60cm now and i had two more that made it 2 years back they are about 30cm now. keeping and growing on fish fry is a game i don't want to get into they are not as easy to pass on or sell as people think and with the hobby getting more expensive this will get even harder
