I don't know... When I was a kid, I hated crude butt jokes and loved films with strong characters and nuanced story-telling. (That said, I was a really, *really* weird kid.)
Me too, my favorite animated film is Toy Story (a Pixar movie) and still to this day I prefer the animated films with realistic characters (that aren't around just to funny unless they are the comedic relief), even if their not in a realistic world. That's probably why I'm starting to really like the new Disney movies (like Zootopia).
I have to completely disagree with you. As an educator and someone who takes care of children on a regular basis for family members I'd be ashamed to let the kids I'm taking care of watch something like this. Your argument that it's harmless fun for kids and can be used to kill some time is just... wrong in my opinion. I feel like if you get to the point where you're okay with just letting your kids (or any kids for that matter) watch worthless entertainment for the sake of it you've done them a massive disservice. We should never just say "it's good enough for kids." The entertainment for our children should honestly be held to an even higher standard than our own. Anyway that's just my two cents. Look forward to seeing more from you in the future.
***** That's a good point. I didn't get that from what he was saying, but if that was his intention then I find a little less issue with it. However, I'd still argue that there are better things out there for kids of even that age.
Have you ever watched Nostalgia Chicks most disappointing Disney sequels? She said something like "so what if it's crappy? It's just for my kids!" "What? Its just a car seat. So what if the belts faulty." "What? It's just food!" For some reason entertainment is the only thing parents don't really care about and you're really spot on with your own comment. It's also nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks just showing kids stupid humour is okay.
Your points are fucking nullified, bitch! You can't develop strong evidence to show what you're saying which is true and you're going to lie about it and it shows how fucking weak you are!
supermariosonic 298 What the hell are you on about? Please do explain how my points are "nullified," and how I have no "strong evidence" for them when you yourself have said nothing to counter my points. Also, why the hostility? I did nothing to you, bub. You have no reason to be acting like such a dweeb right now.
PretzelBro _ There is nothing wrong with judging someone for making ignorant decisions, especially if they affect others. If someone judges someone else for something they cannot change or that doesn't hurt others then that is most definitely not okay, but if someone does something stupid and harmful then you not only have every right to judge them but you are obligated to do so as a member of society. In the same way that we cannot tolerate bullying, oppression, or other such activities being taught to our children we also cannot tolerate the spreading of ignorance and stupidity to future generations. Feed a child junk food all the time and they will grow up to be unhealthy. Show them junk entertainment and the same is true of their minds. Simple as that. If an adult wants to be a moron and waste their time and rot their brain with Honey Boo Boo or the Kardashians then that's their prerogative, but when they start pushing that on their children or the children of others then we've got a problem.
"Jokes about butts, and stinky butts, and big butts, and poop, and turds, and smelly butt toots, and butt turds...and smelly big stinky butts" So I guess "Terrance and Phillip: Asses of Fire" is a real movie now!
I like this review, but saying that this is good for kids in not a good thing to say. Just giving them something mindless and stupid is not the best mentality when it comes to entertainment. I know you meant well with what you said, but I just disagree because blue sky deserves better and bigger movies to put time and effort into and people will love them. Most everyone I know is so tired of this series and I understand that you are too, but I feel that kids deserve better entertainment than this.
hopefully it was clear that I meant "young kids" ... older kids these days are much more discerning which is awesome, but some movies need to exist for the really little ones IMO
+LewToons can you re review the angry birds movie and place it higher cuz Kung fu panda 3( or in this case finding dory) was disappointing (kinda) so if I was you I would put it higher so yeah.
+LewToons very well, it is your opinion and I respect that you can be optimistic when it comes to bad movies and I respect you very much for that. I just feel that kids deserve better that butts and it fuels the notion to studios that they don't have to try to make a product because they will make money anyways. Oh well, at least you can see the positives while everyone else is raging on that the franchise needs to die. Looking forward to what you do next
The 4th movie is honestly where I got off the franchise. There were pirates in an Ice Age movie. FUCKING. PIRATES. Say what you want about any of the Land Before Time sequels, but at least they didn't resort to something so batshit random and modern as to keep the audience invested. As such, I DID NOT see this movie, and unless I decide to do a review of it in the future, I probably never will, and really, I'm ok with that.
Actually, in the Mysterious Beyond sequel of TLBT, they imply that the two new dinosaurs introduced in the movie were aliens. They had them float up into the sky and fly away. That's about as random as it gets. The movie doesn't even bother explaining it.
+berrypie11 Well, yeah, THAT'S fine, but I'm talking about prehistoric animals forming pirate ship gangs out of goddamn icebergs. It's THAT kind of insanity that takes me out of the environment. The maybe aliens were ok, because they themselves were already hyper intelligent about things, but the natives WEREN'T. I can't really explain why that works, but all the stuff in Ice Age 4 DOESN'T.
I get where you're coming from with the whole "kids like butt jokes and stuff" thing, and I certainly don't want every movie to be Zootopia where we're dealing with issues like prejudice and the like, we don't need Whinnie the Pooh talking about rape or something, no one wants that. On the same token, I don't think a movie, any movie, whether for children or adults, is below being smart. I direct you to movies like Lilo and Stitch, the film didn't exactly break new ground, it touched on themes such as family, and what being a family means, etc, which again, is nothing new. However the film manages to be intelligent in its dialogue, it's characters and how it portrays its messages, yes a lot of that is going to fly over kids heads, but let me ask you this, which film is that kid going to remember? The dumb butt jokes, or something a little more thoughtful, they may not realize it, but the more intelligent film is having a much more profound impact on their little minds than the fiftieth joke about poop. I don't even have a problem with films like this, they're harmless enough, and I get the appeal, I was an eight year old boy once, but as someone who was once the perfect demographic for these films, I don't remember a damn thing about movies similar to every Ice Age sequel, but Castle in the Sky is, to this day, my favorite movie of all time. I don't know, maybe I just over-think everything, but that's my take on it.
I personally found the 3rd movie hilarious mostly because of Buck! I was so excited when I saw he was gonna return in this movie, and while he did have some good moments it sadly wasn't enough to save the movie. I think one of the problems the movie has is that it's got way too many characters to focus on! There's Scrat, Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Crash, Eddie, Peaches, Granny, Buck, Shira, Julian, Brooke and Shangri Llama + the Dakotaraptors... With so many characters in one movie it's difficult to give them all the focus and attention they deserve and that makes the movie very chaotic and the new characters seem very bland since they don't get enough sceentime for the audience to get to know them and care about them.
The new characters in this movie are Julian, Brooke, Shangri Llama, Gavin, Gertie and Roger + some other side characters. Some of these characters are first introduced in the middle of the movie so you barely get to know them before the movie is over.
Yeah Buck really managed to make that movie great and they're were some other very enjoyable things in it as well. while the 4th one I thought was pretty bad The first one will always be a step and half of anything they can come up with now. they just truly love milking their franchises
At the theater, I had the complete opposite experience. It was packed with kids, but not once did I hear anybody really do anything more than a mild chuckle.
Aditya C kids these days are full of kids who are the type like they are so brilliant and dont laugh at anything unless it's about making fun of someone. I can't believe you kids don't know that lol
Honestly, I don't think the movie realy desrves THAT low of ratings from the critics. It's like Pixels from last year: where it's reputation is worse than the movie itself.
In every ad for this movie, they referred to it as an end to the chilogy..... I HATED that. Even bluesky tried to downplay how much they've milked the franchise.
+andrewkful I like to think that their trilogy thing is a reference to The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, which was a book trilogy of 5. Both spaced themed too.
Really? Every ad I saw had Scrat doing his comic relief stuff in a space ship with products being placed around him. Once, I saw the actual characters at the end of an ad, saying how they loved Dasani water. Maybe I should stop half-watching TV with my sis.
Lew, are you serious when you say that kids don't care about choreography, heart or message of a film? I can't disagree more. They may not understand all that goes into those things, but they will be affected much more when they are done well, in a way they understand. Yes they do want to have a fun time, and will often be satisfied with that alone, but they actually don't always know what's best for them. Don't you think adults have a responsibility to expose them to things that give something to think about ala: Bridge to Terribithia, Secret of NIMH, Avatar TLA, or Gargoyles? Or even the first Land Before Time/Ice Age? That's what I used to like the most anyway. If there's some toilet humor too, so much the better, but a full diet of that isn't exactly great. I really think a story that's worth a kid's time ought to be engaging for an adult as well - so long as they aren't prudishly above "kids stuff" - and something they can talk about together afterward.
I think the reason I can't stand movies 3-5 is because they just got too ridiculous. First film: Three animals try and get a baby back to his father, endearing and simple. Second movie: Manny finds love and they try to escape a big flood, alright that was good. Third movie: There's dinosaurs underground?.....Wtf is going on? Fourth movie: Now there's singing animal pirates in this universe? Am I watching a Saturday morning cartoon? Fifth movie: They somehow survive a freaking meteor and-okay fuck this, I'm done.
Ice Age: alright Ice Age 2: eh Ice Age dawn of the Dinosaur: pretty good actually Ice Age 4: not bad Ice Age 5: Holy Jesus tapdancing Christ WTF O__O!!
Grainne or Grace Quinn lol what about fast and furious? Lol that's even lamer and more fake. But you'd watch it only because of vin diesel and Dwayne Johnson right? Lol you kids only watch movies for actors
Order of the Ice age movies from best to worst (my opinion) 1. Ice Age 2. Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs 3. Ice Age The Meltdown 4. Ice Age Continental Drift 5. Ice Age Collision Course
I enjoyed the first 3 ice ages but now its just pull a idea out of the hat and go with it kinda deal. I mean whats next Zombies...Oh gosh why I say that. Ice Age Icepocalypse
TBH I think Blue Sky whenever it is close to bankruptcy it's like "Shit we are almost out of money for my money shower wait.....I got it new ice age with uh ALIENS!! YEAH!"
The Arrow lol you kids should be complaining about fasts and furious making sequels lol they have been making more ever 2 years nonstop since 2001 and they don't even have plot lol. Why you kids aren't complaining about that?
I saw this movie with my mum today (we're both big animation fans), and I was surprised to see the theatre completely empty aside from us two. But then again, I guess marketing and even overall interest works differently over there. Neither of us liked the film.
I give credit where credit is due. And I do give this film credit for Simon Pegg's reprised performance as Buck in this film. He even stood up to Diego just to make a point about the meteor.
Lewtoons You should've given Kubo and the Two Strings a FAR MORE positive review so that you could put it as high as Moana and Zootopia on your list of 2016 animations from worst to best. 😠
Oh my God, I watched a ton of your videos years ago and then forgot your channel's name. I hadn't been able to find you since, and then this appeared in my recommended! Sweet!
I enjoyed this movie! And I think it should be rated higher. Honestly there were not that many butt jokes and even less fart jokes, at least not that I noticed. And there was exactly 1 turd joke, and it came, got a chuckle, and went. Where the comedy really shines is in their slapstick cartoon humor which harkened back to Tex Avery and Chuck Jone's Looney Tunes style. Scrat is entertaining everyday of the week, but the best part of the movie was definitely Buck. I enjoyed this one better than the last. I believe you had high expectations after going on this awesome trip to BlueSky and seeing everything you saw, but these expectations were not met. I went into it having no expectations one way or the other, and I fairly enjoyed it. Though I do think you are right. I simply enjoy these characters and look forward to their next adventure. And I am part of the LBT Squad on RUclips, which means I'm a fan of the Land Before Time as well. So I just might be a fan of these types of films.
Ice age means a lot to me because of the fact it was the last movie my grandpa and I watched before he died of cancer. And because of that I will watch every ice age that comes out and make my kids watch it with me.
So my family (but the dad) checked out this movie on a small flyer of that cinema theatre's we would usually go to, and they seemed to either watch this or Star Trek Beyond, but because it's kind of a tradition for me to go to bowling on my birthday ever since, we chose bowling over going to watch a movie.
Now this is a bit rare (from my experience). Most of the time when a comment gets a reply from the (mostly famous) RUclipsr themself, the comment seems to have more likes.
I hated the 2nd one and stopped watching after that. I disagree with kids needing movies like this or the movie being only for kids. Pixar movies engage with kids and don't make a glut of butt jokes, same with shows like Adventure Time. Sure there's a place for silly kids movies, but I think there's a difference between silly and just dumb and this franchise has reached the dumb level.
Damn man, you did a paid promotion of the film and still put it that low? And here I thought honesty in journalism was dead......or am I just thinking of gaming journalism? In any case kudos for not throwing any punches XD.
I am doing pretty good this year. Your top 3 were my must sees. And the other 2 in your top 5 were the ones I was like "those look fun, I'll see them!" The last 3 were the "I'll pass movies"
Ok, no. Kids need to be shown smart and/or good stuff. When they see that, they may not laugh as hard, but later in life they'll look back on it and be inspired, inspired to do more, inspired to be creative. That's what shows like PPG, Teen titans, and samurai jack do to kids. What they did to me. What's a kid going to see when they look back at this? How is a kid going to get umpires by this? Stop giving excuses for more trash like this to keep showing up in theatres. I... Was expecting an animation edficionado like you to have some respect for kids.
when i found out about this movie being about space, i was already a little disappointed. It just seems like they're throwing random ideas out, with not much meaning.. i mean, i really want to see the main characters to meet the baby that was in the first movie again! i would love that! and it could make a good story! but oh well i guess they are mostly catering to their younger audience which is fine ^u^ i hope you like the little prince- i thought it was really good!!
I'm really glad you went into why you didn't think it was very good. Most people I talk to about the newer Ice Age movies just say "Oo those suck" then I say 'but WHY?' Then they say "because it's the 4 movie" because lots of people just hate the new movies because "there sequels."
I think the worst part was how they tried to shoehorn in everyone's relationship and family issues. Like with Shira (?) and Diego's "children hate us" thing; it didn't really make any sense.
I am highly excited for you to review The Little Prince. It is absolutely so beautiful, though I don't think many American children will enjoy it, and I am so upset it never came to theaters. I honestly think the only reason it didn't was because it's from France and you never see foreign films at movie theaters.
Personally, I just don't think there should be Ice Age movies anymore. They're kind of stretching it, especially with continental drift. NOW, if it was a TV series it may be better. They got characters, they got the settings, they wouldn't need to fill story lines with shitty filler. Just with there movies, they can do a lot of scenarios with these guys.
I think it would be interesting if manny told Ellie and peaches about his past because I'm pretty sure everyone forgot that he had a family that was killed. And it would clear up so much to peaches why he was so over protective of her. Idk that's just my thought
Wow I think I found a plot hole! -Spoilers Ahead- So the movie gave a bit of 'background' on how the meteors began shooting towards earth- Scrat did his little games etc. and shot it towards the earth mhm mhm. Later in the movie, Buck goes around and says that there's this 'reset' in the ages. Make up your mind, plot.
Hey its like you read what I've been saying because with every new "episode", if you will, of Every Animated Movie of the Year you start with what I addressed in the previous one 0_0 which is fantastic! You are absolutely right about animated movies stepping it up a notch or a few, and a simple and childish movie once in a while is actually really enjoyable. I grew up with Ice Age, and I'm hyped for this movie (haven't seen it quite yet) and your review will be in my mind as I go to watch it. I just hope it's not just as bad as you mention, though the plot does sound rather...er......disappointing. None the less, I'm glad you do these and I'm eagerly looking forward to your next review!
i understand the whole argument of "we need to think about the children" except there are so many animated films that they can watch that don't stoop to that low brow level of humor. You can think about the kids, but due to so many film makers putting effort into making their animated films enjoyable by all and timeless, the Ice Age franchise just sticks out like a sore thumb in mediocre writing. it's not excuse when other studios are thinking smart.
Personally I would've put Ice Age above Ratchet and Clank but yeah the problems are the same for me mostly. For tme the highlight of the movie was Simon Pegg coming back as Buck the Weasel.
I was dragged to the theater to see this with my family, and I knew I should bring out that tiny pillow and sleep mask in my bag when I heard the first butt joke
SPOILERS I watch the movie with my friend and one part i was admiring the animation (this is where the spoiler comes in) it was a fish like creature turing to dust and i was impressed but then behind me i heard a little girls voice 'Dad why did the fishy turn to dust?' i realised then what a disturbing image that was watching a fish get burned up.... I just feel sorry for the parent who has to explain to the kid.
Hey, LewToons, kids are generally smarter than what we give them credit for. The deserve better, and this movie is a terrible thing to show them. It's insulting to their intelligence. So you're wrong to say "it's for kids". It's also hypocritical of you, because you poke fun of movies that are "for kids" all the time.
To all those people in the comments calling him out for being wrong about letting kids watch mindless, stupid stuff, you're part of the problem here. They're kids. Should everything be dumbed down for them? No, of course not. Should they watch some complex, intelligent things? Learn from things? Of course. But it IS harmless fun, and you probably watched something or other that was "stupid" or "mindless" as a kid. Or did something along those lines, read something, etc. If we make everything deep and serious they'll never have a chance to just BE A KID.
What is it about a movie about prehistoric animals that necessitates some form of travel from place to place? I.e. All the Ice Age movies, Land Before Time movies, Dinosaur, and the Good Dinosaur.
Sorry, but I don't agree with the idea that kids need their "silly butt humor" movies. Yes, you can make something intended for young audiences that's not as complex as "Zootopia." Look at "Winnie the Pooh" or the original "Land Before Time." Neither of those films insult kids' intelligence and don't encourage them to talk about poop in public more than they already do. Parents, if you are lazy enough to let tv. babysit your children, at least get them a good sitter who won't teach them bad manners. But the worst sin about giving these kind of movies the "it's for little kids" excuse is that it tells studios that repeating this formula is okay. They'll do it for money as long as it's there, sure, but if people realize that they're, as Nostalgia Chick puts it, putting their kids on a film nutrition diet "equivalent of Froot Loops," maybe they won't pay for it. Starve the hacks at Fox.
Finding Nemo, Cars, Lilo and Stich all had deep meaningful dialogue and wasn't just poop and butt jokes everywhere. I went to see a dogs purpose last weekend and there were tons of kids there, they cried a little but they all loved the movie. Not all movies have to be dumb for kids to enjoy.
I know that animated movies not grounded in reality have their places and I totally agree. BUT that doesn't excuse a bad movie. You CAN have a good movie be silly and full of butt jokes or whatever but still be good.
findingbuglantis lol you kids don't know how to judge movies properly lol. And see? You kids only judge movies by actors only and not by it's plot lol fast and furious doesn't have a plot and you kids only watch it for the actors right? Lol pathetic
I see your point about not every animated movie dealing with deep issues like Zootopia did. But I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you on the whole "it's just for kids" thing. A movie for children can be fun, but it should also have intelligence. It should have something that will have a positive impact on kids. A children's movie, whether it's animated or not, shouldn't just be filled with toilet humor and dumb jokes just because "Well, it's just for kids, so who cares?" Children are very easily influenced, especially by what they watch on television or what movies they see, so shouldn't children's movies have a positive, intelligent influence on them?
And now we're at the halfway mark of 2016's lineup of animated films. So far, this year is the most intresting in terms of their quality and what they offer. On one hand, we got Zootopia, my new favorite movie of all time, Finding Dory, which is one of the greatest sequels I ever seen and I was more than happy to see it, Kung Fu Panda 3, which is my new favorite Dreamworks movie, The Secret Life Of Pets, which was adoreable and funny despite the similarities to Toy Story and The Angry Birds Movie, which was good in its own right. On the other hand though, we also got Ratchet & Clank, a massive letdown of a movie baised on a rather good gaming serues, Ice Age Collison Course, which honestly, made me lost a little respect for Blue Sky, and lastly and DEFINTLY least: Norm Of The North, which I refuse to ever talk about again. So with that, here's my list as of now: 1. Zootopia (10/10) 2. Finding Dory (10/10) 3. Kung Fu Panda 3 (10/10) 4. The Secret Life of Pets (7/10) 5. The Angry Birds Movie (7/10) 6. Ratchet And Clank (5/10) 7. Ice Age Collison Course (5/10) 8. Norm Of The North (0/10) So, lets hope that the rest of this year (Sausage Party, Kubo & The Two Strings, The Wild Life, Storks, Trolls, Moana, and Sing) can be good and make this year something worthy to remember in animation.
My mom hates the ice age movies and was really upset that she had to see it XD I really liked that the movie brought back Buck and the dinosaurs cause I saw all the movies and actually own the one with the dinosaurs so it was really exciting for me. What really upset me is that in the last movie Peaches had a friend who was a little possom named Lui who was my favorite character and he wasn't there in this film instead they was Peaches fiancé which really upset me
Honestly I understand what you're saying with animated films being too grounded in reality but things like Zootopia and Gravity Falls and Avatar all have their lighter and more kid friendly moments while still having tense, emotional, or downright terrifying moments as well. The essence of a good animated product is to make it enjoyable for children AND adults. I really don't like people who work on a kids product and openly say that they know what they're making is crap but "it's okay! it's just for kids!". Kids should be challenged with creative and well made content. That might inspire them to make something even better as an adult. We shouldn't just be giving our youth scraps from good ideas.
"This had 50 butt jokes and the kids loved it" "After zootopia I was worried these movies would get too grounded in reality" "good to see kids still have things aimed at them" I must have been a STRANGE kid, because I found this crap as obnoxious and stupid as I do today (I'm in my 30's now) That's why I adored things like Gargoyles, The Secret of Nimh, etc. while growing up. I am glad Zootopia exists because that's the kind of thing I would have personally loved as a child, while garbage like this movie and Teen Titans Go seems to be more the norm now (since our opinion of children is so low). It's sad, because children can be caught up in the bright colors and humor easily, but our entertainment should, (at the very least) offer a little more than that. You can also feed children junk food for every meal of every day, but would you really do that? They'd love that to... doesn't mean it's a good thing. Comedy and poop jokes are fine, but if that's all you're feeding into kids, well.. "garbage in, garbage out".
AM I THE ONLY PERSON WHO THOUGHT THIS MOVIE WAS **FUCKING AMAZING* they saved the world with LOVE (crystals) the message about Mars?! this movie is soooo deep and I don't think people get that. each person had a story that develops .. I seriously loved this movie.
Ice Age 1 was great. The Meltdown was potential wasted on poor dialogue and directing. Dawn of the Dinosaurs was a funny but ridiculous plot that rarely got onto its feet. Continental Drift was decent, but similar to the Meltdown, it wasted much of its potential. *Collision Course should never have existed*
I've only seen the first Ice Age and I thought it was OK. I love how you respectfully considered the target audience for this movie in your review BUTT managed to be honest in your opinion as an adult. And yeah, some movies are meant just for kids, and that's OK, BUTT it doesn't make them that great for the parents BUTT not all animated movies can be Zootopia or Finding Dory which appeal to all ages.
"Rob Schneider was once an acorn who had everything going for him. Until one day, he becomes... A Butt! Coming to IMAX theaters in 3-D, Rob Schneider is _The Butt._ Rated PG-13." I'm glad to see that you're still doing this Chad, on top of other videos that you've been able to upload recently. It seems like the upcoming animated films are gonna be quite the doozy rank-wise. Nevertheless, I await your reviews.
I don't know, just because kids find butts funny doesn't mean you have to dump 50 butt jokes onto them within one movie. I love Ice Age 1 too and there were some jokes of that kind but it also had so much heart to it and the buddy comedy was done very well. It was not just a movie to fill 90 minutes of my time when I was younger and I still remember the movie for it. I don't think the same can be said about this one, or the other ones before it.
Scrat got an acorn shoved into his butthole in this movie. That's not a joke.
Dear god.
how did that get approved?? like it probably wasn't presented in a sexual way, but still.
True
+a person it's a butt joke XD
I saw that in a trailer...... *eugghhhh.....
I don't know... When I was a kid, I hated crude butt jokes and loved films with strong characters and nuanced story-telling.
(That said, I was a really, *really* weird kid.)
I hated butt jokes as a kid, it was the reason I never watched cow and chicken
I liked both. I would laugh at butt jokes, but it was great characters and engaging stories that really drew me in.
Bro, I was the same way. I hated toilet humor in general when I was kid
me too
Me too, my favorite animated film is Toy Story (a Pixar movie) and still to this day I prefer the animated films with realistic characters (that aren't around just to funny unless they are the comedic relief), even if their not in a realistic world. That's probably why I'm starting to really like the new Disney movies (like Zootopia).
I have to completely disagree with you. As an educator and someone who takes care of children on a regular basis for family members I'd be ashamed to let the kids I'm taking care of watch something like this. Have you ever watched Nostalgia Chicks most disappointing Disney sequels? She said something like "so what if it's crappy? It's just for my kids!"
"What? Its just a car seat. So what if the belts faulty."
"What? It's just food!"
For some reason entertainment is the only thing parents don't really care about and you're really spot on with your own comment.
It's also nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks just showing kids stupid humour is okay.
Your points are fucking nullified, bitch! You can't develop strong evidence to show what you're saying which is true and you're going to lie about it and it shows how fucking weak you are!

So I guess "Terrance and Phillip: Asses of Fire" is a real movie now!
Isn't it Uncle fucker?
LilKenGaming Oh, now I feel silly
lol
south park reference!
+AprilShowers ok, I respect his opinion very much
+ano yeah, I did, these movie are not for me
I did not have high hopes for this movie
like at all
This series has gone on way longer than it should
+Megan Maclean élève I have so keep u r stupid opinions to yourselves
+Kennedy Boston shut up
+Jossalyn Hawks Of all the flavors in the world, sweet, savory, spicy, why do you choose to be so salty?
I agree. The fourth is where I stopped liking this franchise.
That's my problem. I don't mind letting kids have their fun movies, but can it at least go one level above poop jokes?
Little kids is wrong, because Everyone my age likes Teen Titans Go!, it is horrible
Thank you
I agree! And Zoootopia is my favorite movie.
VocalCalibration iii
I watched the first two movies and gave up on the series
I watched the first one and gave up on them
I didn't need to watch them. I just gave up on blue sky
The first 2 are good and the rest are crap
+julie martinez yeah I do like the new peanuts movie but their ice age revival is...
Lacklustre?
The first movie is the best.
Who's the new characters ?
The new characters in this movie are Julian, Brooke, Shangri Llama, Gavin, Gertie and Roger + some other side characters. Some of these characters are first introduced in the middle of the movie so you barely get to know them before the movie is over.
Yeah Buck really managed to make that movie great and they're were some other very enjoyable things in it as well.
while the 4th one I thought was pretty bad
The first one will always be a step and half of anything they can come up with now.
they just truly love milking their franchises
Amelle Kyre Yeah. In my opinion they should have stopped after the 3rd one
Fie I feel the same. I'm glad Dragons is supposed to be stopping after 3 because I could not handle them ruining that one.
@@bowens9211 Its true
Honestly, I don't think the movie realy desrves THAT low of ratings from the critics. It's like Pixels from last year: where it's reputation is worse than the movie itself.
Hi!I have seen u on cartoon amino!I like your movie reviews!
And much like Pixels, just because it's might be getting too much bad press doesn't mean it doesn't deserve the press.
yea i really enjoyed this movie, i'm a fan of all the ice age movies... idk why people hate them so much.
Brony 22
They aren't really doing anything interesting at this point
Pixels was worse than the critics say
In every ad for this movie, they referred to it as an end to the chilogy..... I HATED that. Even bluesky tried to downplay how much they've milked the franchise.
They clearly used that word for the pun of it, not because they don't know what the word "trilogy" means.
+andrewkful
I figured that XD, but it still bugged me.
Same
Lol can't wait for sausage party
I just realized that qualifies for this list xD
so ironic I got an ad for that movie before this vid.
+fixeydsiofeapol lol
is he doing the killing joke?
What's really ironic is how people don't know how to use the word "ironic" in a sentence.
I'm so glad you've gotten so many subscribers this year

yup new subscriber here XD
your videos are the best
I actually really liked every Ice Age movie because that's the one movie series I grew up with.
+XXlunixXX that is ice age dawn of the dinosaurs
+XXlunixXX 3 is dawn of dino
I found number 4 as a meh so I'm not going to bother seeing number 5
This is giving off Land Before Time vibes..
Grainne or Grace Quinn lol what about fast and furious? Lol that's even lamer and more fake.
But you'd watch it only because of vin diesel and Dwayne Johnson right?
Lol you kids only watch movies for actors
You can tell that the writing shows how much Blue Sky were sick of Ice Age.
I read the leaked script to Sausage Party. (Comments about it omitted for Lewis' sake)
Actually happy seeing Ratchet ahead of another movie. lol
His name is Chad...
I think his full name is Chad Lewis
Order of the Ice age movies from best to worst (my opinion)
1. Ice Age
2. Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs
3. Ice Age The Meltdown
4. Ice Age Continental Drift
5. Ice Age Collision Course
derpytarbosaurus that's exactly the same as mine
derpytarbosaurus you kids dont know how to judge movies properly lol
When i heard that the kids didn't enjoyed Finding Dory, but laughed at Collision Course,
I literately lost my hope for humanity.
I enjoyed the first 3 ice ages but now its just pull a idea out of the hat and go with it kinda deal. I mean whats next Zombies...Oh gosh why I say that. Ice Age Icepocalypse
One of the characters actually mentioned zombies in this film.
oh gosh lol
Neither of us liked the film.
and i actually saw like 5 or 4 families in the thearer, and 2 were out of the theater
wow!
I went yesterday and it was so packed we had to split up and sit next to random people
Sold out you say? Your theater must be a rare breed considering it bombed this weekend.
haven't looked up box office stats - shocked to hear that!
OH THANK GOD!
I expected it to bomb. All the bad reviews dragged people away from seeing it.
Bomb? It already made Its money back and more.
Yeah one of my friends went and said the theatre was empty he went 2 days after so it wasn't dead either
I give credit where credit is due.
And I do give this film credit for Simon Pegg's reprised performance as Buck in this film. He even stood up to Diego just to make a point about the meteor.
Okay but if that's where this movie places on the list then just HOW BAD is Norm of the North?!
no chad , kids need better jokes than butt and sh** jokes.
This movie was advertised like crazy here in Australia. Steve Irwins' kids were talking about it like it was the best thing ever.
what have we become!😞
It's so sad this amazing animation was wasted for such a movie...the film looks INCREDIBLY beautiful
These reviews are life (and time) savers. I wouldn't have seen Zootopia fun it weren't for you, thank God you liked it
Finally someone who likes the 4th movie!!
Ugh! Blue Sky really should've just stopped after the first movie. The original Ice Age was just fine on its own!
I always forget animated movies are usually targeted at kids and get over hyped but I was not hyped for another ice age
Are you going to review Kubo and the Two Strings, from the previews it looks fantastic!
Yes I am! Of every movie in 2016 - Kubo is the most Hype for me - I've got really really high hopes - lets seeeeeeeeeeLSDLAFLDSAG
+LewToons lol what xD
+LewToons I know kubo looks amazing when I first saw trailer
Lewtoons You should've given Kubo and the Two Strings a FAR MORE positive review so that you could put it as high as Moana and Zootopia on your list of 2016 animations from worst to best. 😠
ice age six plot details.
Scrat summons satan, get's himself possessed, and now starts a war for supremacy.

And because of that I will watch every ice age that comes out and make my kids watch it with me.
what's next?
Ice Age: Black ops?
Ice Age: Ghosts?
Ice Age: Advance Warfare?
Ice Age: Modern Warfare?
Ice Age: Infinite Warfare?
The Derp Knight boring.
You kids should be complaining to fast and furious making seqeual lol
They went towards the dinosaur pit, not the mountain towards, the beginning of the movie. Just thought I'd mention that.
The only thing I liked about this movie was Buck, and he had his moments where the gags were just too... bad. :/
Ya I like Buck too - better in IA3 tho
LewToons Agreed
Now this is a bit rare (from my experience). Most of the time when a comment gets a reply from the (mostly famous) RUclipsr themself, the comment seems to have more likes.
Ender Sheeper I guess this was the exception haha
I hated the 2nd one and stopped watching after that. I disagree with kids needing movies like this or the movie being only for kids. Pixar movies engage with kids and don't make a glut of butt jokes, same with shows like Adventure Time. Sure there's a place for silly kids movies, but I think there's a difference between silly and just dumb and this franchise has reached the dumb level.
Damn man, you did a paid promotion of the film and still put it that low? And here I thought honesty in journalism was dead......or am I just thinking of gaming journalism? In any case kudos for not throwing any punches XD.
I am so excited for Kubo and the Two Strings, though! I really hope it'll all be worth it!
Lew Toons , I know you will love little prince, it made me cry and it's on of my favorite animated movies. I can't wait to hear your review
I am doing pretty good this year. Your top 3 were my must sees. And the other 2 in your top 5 were the ones I was like "those look fun, I'll see them!" The last 3 were the "I'll pass movies"
Lewtoons, I wish they would just make an entire movie on Buck's life instead of another Ice age sequel. Do you agree?
I'd love to see some back story on Buck! I really like the Ice mythos - - i just think it's past that point now :L
Well they make a buck wild spin off movie and it's awfull.......
Notice that the more advertising the movie gets, and how far back the ads appear, the higher it is on the list (except finding dory)
But Secret Life of Pets got arguably the most advertising of the lot, and it was placed pretty low.
I feel like the only person who legitimately enjoyed this film...THERE, I SAID IT.
greatexpectations320 you're not the only person, I actually liked it myself, but the others are better
Scrat usually helps out in some way in these movies but he did literally nothing in this.
Guess what? The director confirmed there would be a sixth Ice Age movie....
hoooorrraaayyy...
when i found out about this movie being about space, i was already a little disappointed. It just seems like they're throwing random ideas out, with not much meaning.. i mean, i really want to see the main characters to meet the baby that was in the first movie again! i would love that! and it could make a good story! but oh well i guess they are mostly catering to their younger audience which is fine ^u^
i hope you like the little prince- i thought it was really good!!
Plus the fact that Diego and Shira are former predators; they should well understand why baby animals would be afraid of them.
+daeodon yeah and I really expected a fun kinda of epilogue where it shows their child! It would be so cute
and not to forget that they barely talk
GoogooEyedChihuahua I hope they stop. In two movies time, the original team will be dead plus Shira and granny.
I am highly excited for you to review The Little Prince. It is absolutely so beautiful, though I don't think many American children will enjoy it, and I am so upset it never came to theaters. I honestly think the only reason it didn't was because it's from France and you never see foreign films at movie theaters.
Will you review the Gravity Falls Journal 3 that's coming out July 26 2016
I remember seeing the trailer for Sausage Party in the theatre for FINDING DORY. My family was all so confused.
Little Prince is coming in August
sure it's now a Netflix exclusive but i assure ya... it's REALLY good
JackHammer87: But kids deserve better stories than this!
I loved the movie. Okay, the story is a nonsense but the jokes are actually funny. (mostly the Granny Sloth and Buck scenes)
Wow I think I found a plot hole!
-Spoilers Ahead-
So the movie gave a bit of 'background' on how the meteors began shooting towards earth- Scrat did his little games etc. and shot it towards the earth mhm mhm.
I wished you had gone into how rushed Sid's new partner was. Literally BOOM theyre in love now
Since Batman: The Killing Joke was released in theaters, you should look at that one.
10 seconds of derivatives for "stinky butts". Man, I love you Chad.
I was dragged to the theater to see this with my family, and I knew I should bring out that tiny pillow and sleep mask in my bag when I heard the first butt joke
SPOILERS
I watch the movie with my friend and one part i was admiring the animation (this is where the spoiler comes in) it was a fish like creature turing to dust and i was impressed but then behind me i heard a little girls voice 'Dad why did the fishy turn to dust?'
i realised then what a disturbing image that was watching a fish get burned up....
THANK YOU! the little prince needs a chance to shine since paramount never even gave it a chance.
Buck was the only relatively good part of this movie.
yes he is.
findingbuglantis and Sid
findingbuglantis lol you kids don't know how to judge movies properly lol.
And see? You kids only judge movies by actors only and not by it's plot lol fast and furious doesn't have a plot and you kids only watch it for the actors right?
Lol pathetic
Really got to disagree with the idea that the forth movie is better than the third.
So with that, here's my list as of now:
1. Zootopia (10/10)
2. Finding Dory (10/10)
3. Kung Fu Panda 3 (10/10)
4. The Secret Life of Pets (7/10)
5. The Angry Birds Movie (7/10)
6. Ratchet And Clank (5/10)
7. Ice Age Collison Course (5/10)
8. Norm Of The North (0/10)
So, lets hope that the rest of this year (Sausage Party, Kubo & The Two Strings, The Wild Life, Storks, Trolls, Moana, and Sing) can be good and make this year something worthy to remember in animation.
"This had 50 butt jokes and the kids loved it"
"After zootopia I was worried these movies would get too grounded in reality"
"good to see kids still have things aimed at them"
I must have been a STRANGE kid, because I found this crap as obnoxious and stupid as I do today (I'm in my 30's now)
That's why I adored things like Gargoyles, The Secret of Nimh, etc. while growing up.
I Think It Was Good Enough To Rewatch.
But The Weakest In The Series.
You shouldn't stop this series I love it
God I love this series... (Every Animated Movie, not Ice Age, ugh I hate Ice Age)
I don't care if this is meant for kids, this franchise should still die!
You know you screwed up when you go into an ice age movie expecting it to be bad.
A Butt! Coming to IMAX theaters in 3-D, Rob Schneider is _The Butt._ Rated PG-13."
I'm glad to see that you're still doing this Chad, on top of other videos that you've been able to upload recently. It seems like the upcoming animated films are gonna be quite the doozy rank-wise. Nevertheless, I await your reviews.
you are totally right! the next 4 or 5 should really shake up the list - - thing are about to get.... SPICAYYYYYYYY
+LewToons Hey! I was wondering if you can make a video about dreamworks and it's future.
I call for an ICE AGE reboot in the hands of Pixar animation studios. Think about what they could do.
I wonder how many unprepared parents gonna rant about Sausage Party!
