According the the developer, the aiming issue is being worked on to try and resolve it. It's great to be returning to Black Mesa in VR 20 years after playing the original game []-)

Wtf fuck you can play half life in vr fuckking dope. Hey man should i pick up oculus quest vr or nintendo switch improve battery switch its kinda tough decision since switch os coming out with all these games
I know it's a game that came out in 98 but this is mind blowing. It's such a long game as well, current VR developers need to get to this level of design.
Played this last night. Had a great time. It runs really well on the quest. Aiming is an issue but it's still playable. It brought me right back to highschool...when one of my friends slipped me a burned copy of the game. Good times.
Yeah trying to shoot a head crab on the ground is crazy hard with the aiming being off. I have to aim about 2 feet up to hit them. The strange thing is when aiming down the sights it hits spot on for bullet holes in walls. It just seems the mobs don’t have the same alignment. I’m surprised Mr. Beef didn’t realize this before releasing it. Super fun but the aiming being off is less than ideal. Let’s hope for an update really soon to fix this. Other than that an amazing port that I didn’t think would be possible on this portable headset especially for how well it runs. I’m excited for future side loads more than ever!
So happy to get this just 1 week before my vacation. The Quest is definitely coming along! I played it a little and it was a bit glitchy at times, but I was still really impressed. I never played through the whole game and am so looking forward to it! This is better than some “made for VR games” so Happy.
To do this on the Mac, download android file transfer, then add it to applications on mac os. Then connect the oculus quest with USB to the mac and side quest. Install the lambada.apk in side quest then open android file transfer and copy the xash folder to the Quest then copy the valve folder into that. Make sure you allow access from the mac to the Quest with developer mode on. Half life is now on your quest. Beware of the motion sickness though.
If you have an oculus quest, you need to have a link cable. It opens up soo many doors for VR using the power of you're pc. I highly recommend anyone who has a quest to get one. You can find alternatives to the oculus link cable that are cheaper and performs the same. Or just get virtual desktop that is wireless and cheaper than the cables.
Playing older games is such a good idea for Quest! I would say the old graphics are sometimes even better than realistic newer ones since this just looks like a cool aesthetic other than an actual techinical limitation imo. Very cool without SideQuest what would we really have?
im very excited to play halflife on my quest ill be firing it up on the 3rd next month cant wait! also im playing quake quest and cop crises from side load and they dont disapoint! loving it! cheers!!!!
"PC Users only: (optional - but recommended) Copy the contents of the valve_hd folder into the valve folder now on your Quest (this gives you some nicer models - worth it in my opinion for enemy models) - does not work with Mac files for some reason." Thats really important to know for MacUsers

Although I only care about Team Fortress Classic as a novelty. So if you have an original CD copy of the original Half-Life base game, try activating it on Steam.
Lol, your first mistake is that you bought an Apple product. Sucks to suck, don't it? "To do this on the Mac, download android file transfer, then add it to applications on mac os. Other than the aiming being off which I can confirm, there is also a strange glitch when using the flashlight. If you move the flashlight around an environment enough it starts to glitch the textures in the level. Not a dealbreaker but it would be nice if that didn’t happen. The good news is as soon as anything loads it deletes all of those weird graphical glitches.
Very helpful. I went through about half the game before realizing that once you download the game on the headset you can play it without the headset being connected to the computer. Lol. I always assumed that because the download files were on the computer, the headset needed to be connected to the computer to run the game
This game along with Portal and Half-Life: 2 are currently $0.99 on Steam. Both Half-Life: Episode 1 & Episode 2 are $0.79 while Black Mesa is $11.99. *Enjoy!*
honestly the best way to play half life for those who can't invest themselves on the standard version and for those who want to play alyx in the future.
fantastic! had it on pcvr with a hl mod but it didnt work and when i finally got the game to run it was super buggy and the controller on my right hand didnt do anything and required more fiddling about than it was worth. at least this is a native oculus workaround that works wonderfully and is being fully supported by the dev. also trying out the doom and quake versions people have used instead of relying on pc steam vr mods. plus no wires! i know it made re4 way better for me to fully immerse myself with no wires etc so to play these game like that will be fantastic
2:02 You should get the Lambda1vr Launcher. That way you don't have to manually edit Lambda1vr's command file to swap between the 3 original Half-Life games.
You should do an updated version of this for the Meta Quest 3 if you have one. If not, I probably will. I've been struggling with this for about 10 hours now due to various issues.
