I use a very similar build and it works REALLY well. Really glad you shared it, Evan. A couple of things from my experience to offer for your consideration: 1 - Shadow Fiend is a really nice easy way to distract your enemies as you run up. Just let the Shadow Fiend port in from 1200 range while you are outside enemy notice, the enemy's attention is grabbed, the other minions race in to join the fight, and you are sitting pretty to do what you want with very little pressure. She's also a nice starter to give 10% Life Force and put some gas in your tank when your LF may be a little low from the last fight while dropping a nice set of conditions. The big point here is that you have quite a few options in builds like this one. 2 - When you defeat your foe, your summoned minions from "Rise!" and Death Nova will persist until their duration expires. So get a wiggle on and get to the next enemy before they die so that they drop the field from Poison Nova on death at the next enemy where it can be combo'd for good effect. The number of summoned minions you can find surrounding you may be surprising. For this reason, I call this my "Termite Build" because we gnaw an enemy to death with a lot of little bites from a lot of minions.
I used to love minion master, and it is great at low apm play. It would definitely be my go to leveling build when you're still playing core necro. But camping reaper shroud and using the new sword/sword for everything else is so much better for open world. Minion master might have a bit better solo bossing for certain story points possibly, but honestly sword/sword with some lifeforce farming utilities so you can just auto attack in reaper shroud and keep up quickness and blast vuln is beyond broken. Does require SOTO, but it is THE open world build for reaper currently.
you did mention poison fields but you can also do a similar thing with ice fields (shroud 5 is your only ice field) since deathly chill makes chill inflict bleeding, shroud 4 and also great sword 2 and 3 all count as whirl finishers, doing this is a bit beyond a low intensity but it can be done if you find it fun

i've always wondered why everyone seems to lean on the Signets over using any of the minions. i can understand using the Devourer and Flesh Golem minions at the very least but no one does it.
Out of curiosity, is a scourge variant possible? Every lazy minion build I've seen is either core necro (pre-expac) or reaper, and given the survivability of reaper + the chills/bleed, it makes sense. But was just curious if a scourge variant is possible too.
scourge variant might be possible, but it would miss out on the chill/bleed combos and the extra minions from rise. also i think having to use the sand shades would probably make it less of a lazy build since you would have more buttons to press and cooldowns to manage
@@Evan4K A good test for the build would be: Destroy the 3 stormcaller echoes (North meta) solo on Sandswept Isles. I can do it with my two maces Ranger.
Hey there Evan, I have a question, instead of running the build with celestial armor, is it possible to run full vipers for the condition damage with rune of the traveler for boon duration and all stats increase, and lastly movement speed as we reapers have issues with movement speed. And the weapon variants to be staff/greatsword? WDYT?
it probably would still work however you would have less defensive stats, so you would need to play more carefully to avoid taking too much damage. without the scepter torch set you would have less condi application. but i have seen some people run staff greatsword on a minion master build and work out just fine. so it might be worth testing out your changes to see how well it works
I must have a different definition of lazy... I wanna push NO buttons, unless fighting a boss or very difficult content. Seems like this build is requiring you to always use all your skills. How is that lazier than any other build? I haven't played GW2 in a long time... sorry if I'm stupid!

For thief it has to be dual-pistol deadeye... that's the laziest build I've played so far.
See enemy, press "Unload", win.
Guardian has its Core Hammer build and Quick Herald is already quite easy to play.

i just swap curse with blood magic so i can legit netflix and play at the same time because you can heal your minnions with blood magic
0:30 I would recognize Arknights LS-6 stage anywhere. Not as much as 1-7 but still very well.

one reason I went from Minions to Signets is because it was hard to break combat with your Minions always running off and I could never mount up.

I had one with Scourge long time ago and it was wayyyyy tougher than this one
