I'm going to be really annoyed if the same thing happens next month with the 3070. I've been waiting to complete my new build since June! First COVID jacked up the prices, then the GPU I wanted was out of stock for months. I patiently waited for the 3000 launch, only to be told that the 3070 isn't being released until _next_ month. If that fucker isn't in stock by the end of October, I'm going to start knee-capping people!
I use Blender every god-damn day, and I'm stuck rending on my CPU because my graphics card hails from the cretaceous period.
@@DECODEDVFX It will be far worse with the 3070. Was going to go for it but at this point ill wait to see the deal with Navi and then might have to go based on availability as much as the card itself.
I'm waiting for restocks in microcenter for the 3080. Where I live they sold the 3080 1 day before they said they would so everybody who waited on Sep 17 didn't get it. (Including me) They will restock sometime next week and ill be there for that.

@@ommsterlitz1805 Its board partners, it changes every release. Just look at motherboards. With one chipset gigabyte can be the best while msi sucks hard with the other asrock is on top and gigabyte sucks. Same with graphics cards, every new release will be different.

You get an extra month before the 2080 ti is completely shot. Depending on the performance of the 3060 it will determine where the 2080 ti settles in price wise in the aftermarket.

The TUF card looks like one of the best 3080s so far.
tuf and strix is the best 3000s so far, it actually uses all 6 mlccs compare to nvidia using only 2 mlcc and 4 poscaps while a lot of other AIBS skimp out and cut cost and use 6 poscaps which result in having to undervolt or crash

I'm SO excited for this card to get here. I was one of the lucky ones able to purchase this tuf gaming 3080. I had to have 4 of my boys and my entire family refreshing the page trying to purchase it for me. My dad was able to get thru and check out. The rest of us got the sold out sign within a minute. The lengths I had to go thru just to be able to purchase this on launch day. Insane.

Yeah I'm eagerly waiting for the MSI benchmarks. Specifically the gaming x and titanium series. I currently have a MSI 1070ti titanium which never goes above 70 even after 12 continuous hours of gaming.

i got my system with tuf gammig 3080. 3 days ago it makes the game play full hd a childs play my card is hardly used 30 percent on warzone full graphics settings so is really amazing
very late to the game, i just purchased this gpu 2 weeks ago, but I can say it's a beast and it's also a beast with thermals, but not in a good way. While yes GPU temp is great, hotspot and memory junction temps are VERY worrisome. My GPU hit 90C on the hot spot and 110C memory junction temps. Replacing the thermal pads on this GPU is an absolute must if you want to still enjoy it for more than a year. After replacing my thermal pads the hot spot dropped down to 67C and the memory junction dropped to 70C. I used Gelid Extreme pads which worked awesome.
I have the same gpu, how can I go about checking the hot spot and memory junction temps? And I hope you're enjoying it so far, it's an awesome card for sure!

For the first time ever, I think the FE cards are better than the AIB cards (so far...)
In light of recent findings regarding power parts on the 3080s, I couldn't help but to notice his card has the best parts in all 6 locations. ( 2:02 is a nice still of it ) But all the pics of the cards back on new egg, sports the cheapest non stability inducing chips x6? Hope the issue gets fixed the right way....
I also want to know if they ship to regular customers with the high-end caps or the cheap and nasty once. The Renders show the cheap and nasty once, but reviewers cards have the high end ones. Would be good if someone could clarify.
I'm glad I chose Tuf. I was about to get Zotac but seller suddenly released Tuf before I finalized my order.

Don’t think the fe is better for SFFPC as a lot of layouts are based on a sandwich style in which the heat can’t be exhausted, while 3rd party cards with standard fans seem the better options

Alternate spinning middle fan is unique for an asus card maybe. But gigabyte 3080's also have alternate spinning fan in the middle.

Bought a pc, from one of those "select your own parts and stuff" websites, so i knew EXACTLY whats in it (prebuilts have a history, of having shady components in them) and i was one of the lucky few, who got to get one of these cards. And im really happy to see that the TUF actually pulls ahead of the FE in alot of cases!

@@davidadame5475 careful, I've heard that many people tried that approach with the 3080 only to find out they waited for nothing. Either the store may prioritize online orders or the employees will buy them up themselves if they know they can scalp them for profit
Spagett ! My local micro center I know for a fact isn’t doing any online order for them and I know a good amount of people that were in line got some but they got there super early as long as I’m in the first 5 it’s pretty much guarantee a card but it might be a long wait camping out there

Harrison Kelly kind of, sometimes they are slightly higher binned chips so they made perform a tiny bit better, and may be more stable when overclocking
@@krowwithakay I disagree. Hardware Unboxed tested the OC version, and it seemed to fare better against the FE. Not a lot, but more than this card. Plus, I think Kyle would have mentioned it if it was the OC.

In a stock 3080 FE the fans only run at 50%, if you change it the temps stay at 60- 65. This time the founders is a very good option , better than the majority of the customs
Here in France it cost 980€ , the fe version 719€ so will go with the fe version when available , won’t pay 260€ more for 1 FPS and 15 less degree.

@@timmehh89 Yep. My wife's gigabyte GTX 1660 Super does everything he described that made the Tuf "unique". Alternating fans, silent 0db mode, etc. And all 20 series cards from gigabyte do it to. Hell even my EVGA 1080 has the "0db mode". It's not special or unique. It's standard.

The jury is still out if this includes PSU replacement cables, Nvidia has not said yet.
Obviously, Nvidia wouldnt know if a card failure is due to the cable, but this should still be a concern, and be noted in reviews.

Had my eye on this for a while. Anyone interested: the length = 29,9cm. The MSI one: 33cm and the EVGA: 32,5cm.
I can't even fit anything else then the TUF, and i am glad it performs so well.
I have this card and the MSI Ventus 3xOC. Surprisingly, the Ventus performs slightly better in both fps and graphics score in Time Spy. This performs better in thermals and noise.

Dear Bitwit I am wanting to see a video on which 3080 will be the best for Water-cooling including which has the longest lasting components on the board. There are so many different aftermarket versions, all offering various additional features. If I'm water-cooling my GPU I want to buy one that will last the years to come and will have the most suitable features and overclocking abilities that count (I would assume?)
Or am I looking the wrong direction and should just buy the founders edition or the cheapest after market version because a good cooling system with three fans won't matter if I'm taking it apart to put a nice sleek black water-block from EKWB on it. Thoughts?
I'll be keeping my 2080ti for another year. Then picking up a 3090. Its served me well for 2 years so far, no need to jump the gun when everything I play I get plenty of frames.

I have my TUF 3080 coming on Monday, I wanted to go for this because I've an NZXT H1, you mentioned you might want to go for the reference card for small form factor builds but with that cooling design it just wasn't an option for me, I'd love to see a video of the 3080 reference and aftermarket cards in a mini ITX build to determine which is best.

Your temps aren't wrong for aorus 2080ti. It's trash of a cooler with pretty lights. My Vega 64 from gigabyte heats up like mad. Windforce coolers from 900 series were the best IMO.

My friend has one and when he gave me his computer to repair, when I did testing it never even reached 70 degrees

It almost seems like it is overclocked, high temps and the performance is much closer to the 3080 compared to other vids I’ve see
I have the same card, and I can confirm that after say 8-14 months of use the GPU temps gradually went as high as BitWits. I had to get it RMA once temps were hitting 84-86C at 100% Fan speed. Gigabyte reapplied new thermal paste and pads. Now temps are back down to 68-75C under normal gaming load.

Here in Australia, we had hardware stores make you sign up for a raffle for a ticket so you could purchase a 3080. Still had a few bots buy everything, but I think this systems good so that the every day Joe had an equal opportunity to purchase a card. Or at least have them be limited to 1 per customer / ticket
That's why you should never use a Ryzen based benchmark system. These results are heavily bottlenecked.

Horrible CPU selection by Kyle. That AMD cpu is bottlenecking GPU performance. Every other review I watched shows a bigger difference in gaming performance between 3080FE and 2080ti. Kyle wanted the reviews to get live as fast as possible so he didn't bother to put together an Intel setup. He just plugged the cards in his Productivity/content creation setup, and made excuse "this is because many of you have AMD cpu..." No Kyle. Majority of gamers prefer Intel CPUs cause we want those few extra frames. I am spending $2000 on a gaming PC to get the MAXIMUM frames possible. I want every last one. So Intel would always be a gamers choice over AMD. Take it as a constructive feedback.
I'm not sure what's going on with your Shadow of the Tomb Raider results. I get the same average FPS as what you are getting for the 3080. I have 3900X CPU and 1080 Ti GPU. My guess would be your RAM speed but still I dont get why going from 3400MHz to 3600MHz would make that much of a difference. Maybe you have bad RAM timings or something. Either way those results for SotTR are very low at 1440p
Hey Kyle, I know you are in your new space, but make sure to throw some acoustic foam in there. Your vocals are distant and a little muddy in all the reverb. (Granted I'm listening to your beautiful voice on my DT770s)
Nice review ! Somehow beat the bots here in the UK and secured an order for the 3080 TUF NON-OC version (TUF-RTX3080-10G-GAMING) which I assume is closer to FE performance but with better thermals! Upgrading from a GTX 970, currently banging on Intel UHD 630 at the moment though! Pheww :) Happy Hunting everyone!

I've bought one of these no idea when I'll get it. I bought the TUF because I plan on ripping off the cooling for an EK water block and it seemed criminal to pull apart an FE plus the FE has that horrible power plug thing which is going to be a pain until psu manufactures and custom cables mods catch up. The TUF is also one of the cheapest and I see no point in paying £100/$100 plus to get a tiny OC.
Are you using a daisy chained PCI-e cable?. I thought you need to use 2 cables. If this is the case and it works I am a happy man.
Please review the PLAIT gamingrock 3000 series cards. The rgb on these cards are absolutely beautiful and one of a kind. I have never seen anything like it before.
I was actually planing to get myself the FE but after I saw the customs having 2 HDMI slots I changed my mind :D
